The sauna, pool, and breakfast were truly extraordinary! There were great vegan options at breakfast as well as many non-dairy milk options! I was in heaven! Every detail of the design of hotel was so well thought of with guests in mind. Hotel Garni Melanie is such a special place and an extreme value and I hope to be back on future trips to Salzburg.

If I had to say one ittttty bittttty thing, I would say that ensuring that there is vegan labeling on all questionable breakfast items is important. I tried a spread that was labeled “curry, date” and I assumed it was a hummus but I’m still not sure if it was vegan.

A peaceful and relaxing hotel located slightly off the beaten path, which makes it wonderfully quiet. Rooms are spacious, clean, and pleasantly warm - very comfortable overall. Breakfast is a real highlight: varied, rich in choice, and absolutely delicious, with plenty of fresh options. The spa area is clean and modern, while the pool and gym are available from 06:00 to 22:00, which is very convenient. However, the spa itself only opens from 16:00 to 22:00, which feels a bit restrictive - especially for guests arriving early in the afternoon or staying just one night. One downside is the lack of an on-site restaurant. Given the hotel’s remote location and four-star status, this feels like something that’s genuinely missing, especially for those who would prefer not to drive out for dinner. Overall, a high-quality and quiet place with friendly service and excellent breakfast. With extended spa hours and a dining option, it would be nearly perfect.

Everywhere in the hotel was spotlessly clean and tidy. The breakfast buffet had an excellent array of cereals, fruits, preserves, cheese etc and your choice of tea or coffee was brought to the table. The bar closed at 10pm but the receptionist allocated us an area of the restaurant so that we could enjoy the rest of our evening without having to rush. The hotel is easy to get to from the airport and there is a regular bus service to take you into the town centre just a short walk away. Lovely sunny aspect balcony to enjoy the weather. We would recommend the Sound of Music tour with Panorama and also the Mozart concert and dining experience was lovely. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and welcoming and we really enjoyed our stay.

a few reviewers have mentioned there is not a kettle in the room which is a little bit unusual (certainly for UK visitors) but there are facilities in the spa area to make a cup of tea so it is possible to pop downstairs and then bring up to the room - maybe not quite so convenient but really not a bother.

We enjoyed the cleanliness and calming atmosphere of the interiors. The rooms were spacious, beds comfy. The rooms had balconies, which can be a great hangout place, if the weather allows it. Everything was quiet, we barely noticed there were other guests (there were). The staff was very helpful and kind. We loved breakfasts and the room service was also great. We had no problem or felt any obstruction in using the hotel's amenities (a pool, wellness, gym). As a bonus, Kiki the house cat is cute and cuddly. A small lake right in front of the hotel and a stream behind it make interesting points to get you out for a small walk, which we enjoyed. The hotel is close to the highway and our ride to the Salzburg city centre didn't take longer than 30 minutes.

Just be careful as you (or your child.. ) can get quite a lot of water through the bottom gap of the shower doors and spill it on the bathroom floor, if certain circumstances are met, lol

I absolutely loved the warmth and professionalism of the staff — they were always ready to help with a smile and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The entire property was spotless and beautifully maintained, and the room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. It was truly a memorable experience that exceeded all expectations.

Nothing at all — everything was wonderful and exceeded expectations.

Everything was beyond reproach. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom, sparkling. Breakfast had great variety and was freshly cooked. The room was tidied up quickly and efficiently. The staff smiled and was polite. I wouldn’t mind returning.

Sadly, there was no restaurant onsite, which meant we had to go hunting for our meals. This wouldn’t have been so bad, but it rained the whole time we were there - and quite badly at that - so eating in the hotel would have been very welcome.

Breakfast was really good with plenty of choice. Spa area was super clean and relaxing. Massage was excellent. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Very clean and cared for.

Location was a bit more out of town than we expected. Had to rely on buses (2 an hour)or taxis all the time. Body lotion in rooms and spa area would have been good

a miserable couple and old man who was rude to my children at the pool side telling them to be quite ......and that it is a spa. Clearly children are welcomed at the hotel so that did not make sense. Pool was super cold 🥶 and I did go the reception but she was alone and no one was on site to deal with this matter . I booked this hotel for my kids as we came especially to enjoy the pool but this was a huge disappointment 😥

Needed to be near to airport for our flight which was why we chose this hotel but pleasantly surprised by the great pool and spa which we used. No evening restaurant but were directed to one within walking distance which was a wonderful meal. Breakfast great. They warned us in advance about some building work going on and that it might be noisy but we were not affected by this at all.

All good.

They let you ride hiotel bikes for gree. Breakfast was nice. Clean.

I have been to much nicer hotels in this area but they were all fully booked this time. This hotel is passable but everything is just not really great: small pool area cold water, no restaurant, no atmosphere, not the nicest surrounding.
