Loved this cute B&B. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the bathroom was lovely. We were there on days that the bar downstairs was open so we enjoyed drinks outside in the sunshine which was lovely. The breakfast each morning was superb with a number of options to choose from, and we were always asked each morning if we needed anything for our room. It is in a quiet town with not much else, but we loved that and it was only a 5 minute drive to Bourton-on-the-water.

The only negative is it was quite warm (25-30degree heat wave) during our stay and although we were able to open the windows, a fan would have helped. I believe it doesn’t get that warm there often though!

We had an amazing weekend in the Cotswolds staying at The Plough B&B. Our host Ovie was friendly and couldn’t have been more accommodating. The location was beautiful and peaceful without feeling isolated. We had a wonderful cooked to order breakfast on the patio enjoying the sunshine and good company from fellow guests. It was great to finish off a day of sightseeing with a drink from the bar! This is a real gem and would 100% recommend.

Breakfast is served between 9am - 10am which for us was a bit late. After mentioning this on the second morning Ovie kindly offered to bring breakfast forward an hour which suited us and the other guests staying much better.

I absolutely loved this hotel! It embodies the classic, rich charm of the English countryside. The moment I stepped inside, it felt as if I had been transported into one of those British films I’ve watched countless times — a dream I’ve always had, and here, it came true. The manager was incredibly warm and welcoming. Shortly after I made my booking in March, I received a lovely welcome email. Then this morning, they thoughtfully sent me a message with helpful check-in information. Most importantly, they kindly allowed me to check in early — which meant so much to me as a traveler who just arrived from Melbourne. We’re still adjusting to the time difference, so getting into the room earlier gave us a much-needed chance to rest and recover. The hotel itself is full of character and charm. Every detail — the design, the cozy decor, the historic yet inviting atmosphere — made me feel like I was living inside a real English movie. One thing that especially touched me: when the manager heard we needed to leave before breakfast is served tomorrow morning, he kindly offered to prepare some complimentary croissants for us to take with us. It was such a thoughtful and generous gesture! In addition, the hotel is just a 6-minute drive from Burton-on-the-Water, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the Cotswolds. If you’re looking to truly experience the beauty and warmth of the English countryside, this hotel is an absolutely perfect choice.

I wish the mattress would be better.

Owners were very welcoming. Breakfast nice.

No restaurant available in evening. Owners explained reason why which we fully understood and have our full support and sympathy. However, we thought guest house was actually in Bourton on the Water so we had to drive in a few times a day to eat etc. No great hardship, just inconvenient. Taxis were unavailable and extremely expensive TV in room was a challenge to work. Mainly loss of signal. Nowhere to hang or put clothes. Had to live out of cases. Not the end of world though. Beds maybe need upgrading. Beautiful place though!

There was plenty of variety on the menu, including vegetarians/vegan options. It was cooked fresh, arrived hot and very tasty. A beautiful old pub in a quiet sleepy village. Would definitely stay again.

I am sorry to say that the mattresses were a bit tired and lumpy but the lovely room more than made up for it. Good sized bathroom, great shower with instant hot water. Nice fluffy towels. It is a shame that, for the time being, the pub and restaurant is only open Friday to Sunday. It would have been great to experience this place on the weekend.

The rooms were really nice and beautiful, I wish we could have stayed one more night. It's located in a very calm and small village. There are no restaurants or shops there, but you can go to Burton on the water which is a 5 min drive. The check in was self-service, but the owner was available by phone which was nice. The breakfast was served from 9 am if I remember correclty. And you get a menu with different breakfast dishes that you order one from, it was included in the room price. I would defenitely choose this Inn again!

Very pretty property quite village location breakfast was very good and nothing was to much trouble

There was nothing we did not like but have to point out for others that are staying . The pub does not open in the week so only place to chill is in your room which means sitting on the bed. Or if weather is good sitting outside but sadly without a drink. Also parking is wherever there is a place as the plough does not have off road parking. If looking for a evening meal you will have to drive out off the village

Beds were comfortable, room was really clean & breakfast was really good. Hot water on tap & a power shower that was a treat even though it could knock you off your feet..

No one to welcome you, no housekeeping, i.e bed weren't made & the consumables weren't filled the next day, never had this anywhere before, it's a good job I always pack a few tea bags & some powdered milk for back up, the room was very bijou & you had to be careful not to knock yourself out on the sloping eaves

Good old English style building from 17th century but very tastefully and sympathetically refurbished. The manager Ovi was outstanding, a very friendly chap with great local knowledge and made us feel most welcome from our first steps into the property until we left.

Nothing bad to say. Would be great if food was available behind the bar - like pre-ordered and/or pre made sandwiches or snacks but this was not a problem. We knew in advance and the pop up restaurant was perfect on our first night.

Really charming little stay, we loved it’s quietness and lovely feel , it was the relaxing getaway we needed . Totally recommend. The staff were amazing and so was the breakfast.

Only thing I would say is maybe having food in evening , that’s only thing we found slightly annoying was having to go out for food, but it’s definitely not to bad a negative as we would 100 percent stay again.
