Jeannie the hostess is an amazing person. I had originally booked online but needed to extend my stay. I called Jeannie greeted me warmly and told me to come on over! I'm from the US and my adapter didn't work. She lent me one and an iPhone charger I needed the lightning port instead of the USB I had! She also offered an umbrella on one rainy day. What a genuinely sweet woman! When I asked for advice about restaurants and nearby attractions, without hesitation she jotted names and numbers down and gave amazing verbal directions as well. After the first two nights I checked out to fly to Sydney for five days. Again without hesitation she allowed me to store my large suitcase in the luggage room. When I returned late in the evening for the remaining days of my stay at the Box Hill Motel I figured I would need to wait till the next morning to retrieve the case, but low and behold, there it was in my new room along with the borrowed electrical adapter! <3 I was sad to leave. An unwelcoming hostess can put a damper on a vacation. How fortunate I was to land here and would recommend this lovely place to anyone.

Nothing:) I have no complaints. This was not a brand new facility, but that's not always what matters. Excellent experience.

Grant was so welcoming , rooms very clean , beds made up daily , bins emptied daily , towels replaced daily shower dispensers full of shampoo , conditioner, body wash , hot shower , great water pressure . Plenty of milk for cereal , tea , coffee , biscuits supply delicious, pool clean and beautiful wildlife in native trees nearby . Great dining at Golf club 5 mins walk , 20 mins walk to other tasty cuisine , Deakin uni , 15 minute walk from motel in surrounding peaceful parkland with creek . Would definitely go back , quiet road at night .

Pool opening time earlier and close later .

there was a swimming pool outside our room. Although we didn't use it, it was nice to see the guest enjoy the facilities. The room had all your basic ammenities - hair drier, good internet, TV with access to working channels, good shower, the host was kind to knock on the door of our neighbors when the music was loud - but we didn't alert the host to it, but we thank the host proactiveness. We had cookies in the room - nice.

It was a little dated, but it was clean

Our 2nd time and we loved it even more than the first time. Room is very well appointed and suits our requirements to a T. Nicely equipped good-sized pantry. Really comfortable and close enough to where we want to be..we love dining at Gold Leaf Chinese restaurant and getting supplies from nearby Aldi.

We didnt like that previous visit there wasn't the option to display a do-not-disturb sign bcoz there wasnt such a sign avaliable. And the door could simply be unlocked and opened by housekeeping. This time there was sign and that seems to have beem sorted out

We love staying at The Box Hill Motel. We will not stay anywhere else but this amazing very friendly, clean and functional property. Do yourself a favour and give them a go. It’s worth every dollar and U will not b disappointed. Thanks soo much Neil and Eugenie Wilson

The room space is awesome, staff at the motel were very helpful, room service was very good, my first time in Melbourne was great experience and felt at home, I will recommend to friends and will be back again, I will miss this place, this place was recommended to me by travel agent

We had to come back to the motel because my son’s surgery was delayed and the kind lady at reception let us back in to our room for a couple of hours because we live four hours away and had nowhere else to go!! Very kind people run this Motel.

Nothing. You get what you pay for, I have five kids and sometimes I can afford Crown and sometimes I can’t, this time I needed a place to stay prior to my son’s surgery and just needed somewhere to stay. The place is impeccable as far as cleanliness very low rate and the lady at reception is as Dear as they get.

We love staying here because the staff are always very professional and kind. Nothing is ever too much trouble we return time after time due to the wonderful clean and comfortable rooms

There is nothing we dislike about this place

This would have been my third stay at the Box Hill Motel (actually closer to Burwood, but who's counting...). The motel is situated off Station Street, with the rooms ranging away from the road, behind the reception area; there is an area of green space behind the property. The distance from the road, the green space behind and the generally quiet nature of the area make for a very peaceful stay. The rooms are always spotlessly clean and better equipped than some- you get a kettle, a microwave, a cutlery drawer with cutlery in it, mugs, crockery, not one one but two bins (bathroom and kitchenette) and ample spare blankets and pillows in case of need. There is a sofa and a table and chairs. My room had a queen bed and a single, which would allow for family to stay.

Nothing, really; old fashioned taps- maybe replace them with more up-to-date mixer taps? The reverse-cycle aircon was the old fashioned through-the-wall type, a little noisier than a split system. But it was efficient enough, keeping me warm on a cold night.

We chose to stay based on the many positive reviews and have found the motel to be a comfortable, quiet and hassle free place to stay. Our kids enjoyed the pool on site, the playground and walking tracks nearby and a chance to meet the friendly dog at reception.
