We stayed at the hotel for 7 nights in mid-June as it was conveniently located for our planned hikes - about a 25-minute walk to the Sargans train station and a nearby stop for a bus direct to the station if we didn't care for the walk. The rooms were quite large and very clean. But it was the exceptional hospitality of the staff that really recommends staying here. It will definitely be our first choice the next time we're staying in Heidiland.

Check in didn’t work so well. We were not sent a pin for the self service entry and had to ask someone to phone the management fir us (as we had a data only plan on our phones) Not what we needed after a 24 hour flight.

The breakfast was delicious and Danny the manager is a very thoughtful and helpful host.

Receiving the entrance code the day before would have helped since we were traveling all day and didn’t have access to internet. We were grateful to another guest who arrived and called the manager for our code to get in.

The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are comfortable and cozy and the atmosphere was overall very nice.

Its not very well connected to public transport if you come without car. Buses dont go that frequently so you need to plan ahead, which was ok though. Our room was above the bar, which made it difficult to sleep before the bar closed. After a long day of hiking, that was not ideal.

There is all you need in the hotel. Nice service cares about clients in the hotel. Quiet place in a nice center of small town.

I was not lucky that the restaurant next to the hotel was closed due to winter holidays but I managed to dine somewhere else - it was really no issue.

The owner of the hotel was very pleasant and super helpful. The bed was the most comfortable we slept in during our 2 weeks in Switzerland. Breakfast was very good. Would definitely stay here again!

A little difficult to get in and out of the very tall tub to shower

The hotel is in the center of Mels, yet in a quiet location. Danny, the host is very nice, available anytime if needed. The breakfast was delicious, Danny brings the pastries fresh from the nearby bakery. The available garage is nearby and included in the price.

It's a small thing, but the safe built into the closet is on the bottom shelf, so it's difficult to use.

Location, breakfast, and enthusiasm of the owner Denny we’re all fantastic! Denny is very helpful and knowledgeable about the area and you can tell that he loves what he does and takes much pride in the Hotel.

I never got the code to unlock the box for my keys. It was only because I ran into the staff that I was able to finally get them.

The were several nice things about this hotel. I loved the look of all the wood in the room, it was really nice. There was a very good breakfast in the morning which included some cheese, meats, bread, and coffee. The hotel manager was super nice and even waited a bit late for us to show up after 1900 since we got stuck in some traffic on the way there. There is also an excellent Asian cuisine restaurant attached to the hotel on the reception level, we really like the food and convenience after a long journey.

I really have to search for something bad about it because there isn’t much to dislike. I didn’t really like the shower since it is not an enclosed cabin and water gets everywhere but that is not a real problem anyways since I put the towel down.
