Right in the heart of La Rochelle. Rooms were above a cafe/restaurant. Overlooking the harbour and the square. Very pretty. Parking was in a public underground car park but it was quite inexpensive to stay all day and night.

Very noisy at night. People partying until 4 the next day. No air conditioning so had to have windows open. Had a leak in the toilet and couldn’t shut the door properly either. Managed to stop the leak, overflowing cistern, but it did make a mess, couldn’t report it as it was about 3am and no one around when went downstairs.

Perfect central location right on the harbour, close to plenty shops, cafés and restaurants. Room is older and a bit dated, but also some of the rooms have balcony views of the harbour which is definitely worth it.

Rooms are older and a bit dated so not the most luxurious. However, for the price of the stay and perfect location this is not a major issue at all. Rooms are warm in the summer too with no AC so you need to leave the door open, which can be noisy at night outside. But when the doors are closed, the soundproofing is really good!

Room was super clean and comfy. Had a balcony with a direct view on the main street by the ocean! (See pic below)

The bathroom was a bit cramped, can't sit on the toilet and close the door because your legs will be in the way (and I am a relatively small person). I guess the upside is that you can pee with a direct view on the ocean lol. The staff seemed a bit overworked as they have to manage both the hotel and the bar downstairs.

Great location on the harbour and about a 10 minute flat walk from the train station. Nice restaurant and bar on a corner location. Very easy to walk everywhere. Two double beds was great (most twin beds were like planks in other French hotels) but they did fill the room! We had nice meals in the restaurant but there is a great choice in the immediate neighbourhood.

The noise levels in the street outside meant we were very sleep deprived! Did not mind the buzz of the local restaurants and live music the problem was groups of teens/young adults who played their music (amplified) and were yelling until about 4am - this happened each night we were there. No sign of police or anyone else trying to enforce peace and quiet. Such a shame - perhaps we were unlucky with our timings but we had to keep the window open as it was so hot. The room and bathroom was cramped with minimal storage - no where to hang damp towels or anything. A few rails and hooks would be useful.

Excellent city centre location on Port. Room had full length double doors/window leading onto balcony with a view of the Towers, port and streetscape. Near cafés, restaurants and shops. Very clean, towels changed daily. Very good value.

Amazing double doors and little balcony, overlooking the harbour and sea fort. La Rochelle is the city that never sleeps, and the most vibrant place in France that we’ve visited. The rest was usual budget standard. Bed was comfortable, staff friendly and kind. Children’s play park right opposite, by the harbour.

Parking was awkward, we had to use an underground multi-storey. The next day we struggled to find a way in and it took us awhile to get our car back.

Great location right by the port. Good sized room (Rm 32) with a comfortable bed, bathroom and separate toilet and bidet. It had a great view towards the Ferris wheel. The hotel has a lift so handy if you're in the higher floors. The host was very welcoming and allowed us to store our luggage until we checked in so we could explore the town. They served a lovely continental breakfast which we enjoyed sitting out looking over the old port and famous towers. It's in the heart of the old port so close to shops and restaurants. We would certainly recommend this hotel and would stay again.

No air conditioning meant you had to leave the window open for ventilation but the old port was quite noisy during the night so we needed to close the window to cut out the noise so it got a bit stuffy. The shower head holder was broken and there was no slip mat in the bath. However neither of these minor issues affected our enjoyment of our stay and it didn't warrant raising it with the manager.

The room was warm and a little stuffy but quiet; when I opened the window it was noisy through to 02.30 but cooler! The noise was because the hotel is on the corner overlooking the Vieux Port. Perfect location but with associated noise etc. The shower room was ‘shoe- horned’ into a cupboard! Easy walking distance of most sights, museums etc. Beware flying scooters and bicycles.

Size of shower room. Although well equipped with modern shower, toilet and basin, all were very close. Stubbed toe several times on shower base. Shower enclosure 2 tiles walls - fine, but a curtain for the other 2, although it did not cling to me it was as much use as a chocolate teapot for containing the water to the shower base. I used 2 towels to mop up the flood that risked inundating the fine parquet laminated floor of the bedroom.

An excellent place to stay in La Rochelle. For a 2* property, it would be hard to do better. Right by the old harbour, the location is fantastic, the rooms are very clean, including the en-suite bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable and there is an elevator so no worries about hauling your case up to the 4th floor! Run by a friendly, helpful team.

the free wifi is good but the signal was weak on the 4th floor.

We had a lovely stay in the hotel. It's right at the port.

It was good value for money, was very clean, was in a great location and the staff were polite, friendly and professional.
