Our first stay - and it was fabulous, what a lovely location!! Thank you for the upgrade - room with a little outside verandah ( how did you know how much that makes a difference to us, you must have a crystal ball!!) Was so much appreciated!! Moat staff very friendly and extremely helpful. Lovely outside areas, with beautiful views, very tranquil, an amazing jewel of a place -will definitely be back.

Upon our arrival receptionist was not as helpful as expected- I had to inform her that we've never stayed here before so did not know which way was what - eg breakfast room, outside areas, spa and pool. But rest of the time the staff were all amazing.

We booked what they describe as a small cosy double, the room size was more than adequate, well furnished and very comfortable. We visited the indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room which was also really nice.

When we went to breakfast we were told that due to the room type we had booked we would only be entitled to continental breakfast - this wasn't a problem for us as we both prefer a continental breakfast, however there does seem to be an underlying theme to try to get you to book the more expensive rooms. Describing the room as a "cosy" double, only allowing a continental breakfast - I imagine there is someone in their marketing dept who thinks this is a good way of making extra income when really it just comes off as a bit underhand. I feel sorry for the staff who have to explain the breakfast situation to customers as it must make their job really difficult.

Amazing location, great food and very helpful / friendly staff. The room was very comfortable and the welcome Gin / Tonic is a nice touch. Room service is no problem and the ice trolley to top up your drinks is another nice touch. A very nice feel to the hotel.

The SPA is very busy so I wasn't able to book a treatment in the 3 days I was there (New Year's so this is understandable). Also, there is no separate bar (only a bar in the restaurant) and a very small area before entering into the restaurant. This meant that finding somewhere to sit, have a coffee / beer and read was not easy to find sometimes.

Our accessible room was well fitted out,generously sized and with several alarm cords. Ample shelf space in the bathroom and a snug heated towel rail. Staff were exceptional. Continental breakfast was superb and the dinner menu varied and was consistently sublime. Complimentary gin in the room with an evening ice/lemon/fresh milk room service trolley was an inspired touch. If you are getting the impression that we enjoyed our week's stay you are absolutely right!

Hotel hosts functions and we were kept awake by an external door banging as guests left. Shame that there was not a closer on it to reduce the noise

Having booked a "disabled" room we arrived during a lull on an otherwise very stormy & wet day, after a difficult drive to find no obvious space in the very full car park.. Within 2 minutes Raphael appeared and whisked us into a reserved space right by the flat entrance to the spa, and very close to our room. He, like all the other staff, couldn't do enough for us throughout our stay., helping to make my husband comfortable, reserving a window table for breakfast one day. The room was spacious, very attractively decorated and most importantly allowed us to adapt one of the armchairs to make it a suitable height for my husband, who isn't a wheelchair user, but has severe back injuries and needs a chair with a high seat and arms. Once settled in, we were delighted to experience the daily 5pm round of ice bucket & lemon replenishment to go with the complementary gin (you have to pay for the tonic) plus a jug of fresh milk to go in the @fridge for early morning tea. Even a teapot! Having the nearby spa open so early for a swim was great too. All the meals were good, if a little pricey, but the service was excellent, plenty of responsive and well trained staff.

The only comment I can make is that the room was on the lower floor and overlooked the carpark. The weather throughout was bad, too windy to sit outside in the Upper Deck, but nonetheless it would have been good to have been able to book a room with the facilities we needed on an upper floor with a sea view. I don't believe that was possible.

Location excellent, friendly polite and helpful staff, excellent food in both the hotel restaurant and The Jetty restaurant, nicely decorated and fitted rooms. Beautifully furnished and welcoming ombiance in all the hotel areas.

Our room was above the kitchen utility area this visit which made it very noisy untill about 11.30pm and then it restarted at 6.30am. Appreciate this couldnt be helped due to our room location but we would ensure we request a room in a different area next time. Tv had a very loose ariel connection so television reception was flickering and disconnecting.

The location is nice and the room very quiet. The rooms are well equipped, including cleaver low level night lights but are missing a few features. Housekeeping were excellent, and the ice and lemon service at 18:00 a nice touch. Continental breakfast good. From the Bookings description I expected full breakfast without paying a £10 each supplement.

The room would benefit from the addition of coat hooks just inside the door. The bathroom design is not optimised. The toilet is too close to the bath. The wash basin tap [room 410] is incorrectly plumbed. The mixer function hot is turn to the right whereas the correct notation is turn to the left. We were unable to make a restaurant reservation for 23rd Nov because the hotel hosted a large Xmas party. The hotel could have had the decency to notify us of this fact long ago. The Spa is ok but the pool a little cool and the spa bath could have been much warmer.

Attentive professional staff across the board - reception, restaurant, bar and spa. Very clean and comfy room + "snug" double was a lot larger than expected. Food at Upper Deck is delicious and spa facilities are great - you can walk from your room in your robe and slippers directly into the lift and down to the spa/gym. Gym is well equipped (benches, dumbbells, cardio machines inc. ski erg), though not big. I booked a 90 minute massage and the lady was late to start (only 75 mins) but when I let the spa reception know they offered me a wonderful 30minute complimentary massage of my choice to apologise - fantastic customer service.

I was lucky to get a parking space in the car park - it's not small but fills up quickly due to number of rooms. I wish I'd known about the "hideaway" area next to the pool to relax and read etc, make sure to ask about it!

Location and views. And a good spa

Did not like having to pay extra for a cooked breakfast. Also on one evening we were unable to reserve a table for dinner between 18.15 and 20.15, presumably because of issues around a wedding. Surely residents should be given more priority on such occasions. We had spent quite a lot of money with you and felt your priorities were inappropriate. We would appreciate a response to this if we are to use Harbour hotels again.
