A well maintained hotel. Nice restaurant serving good quality evening meals. A lovely lounge area. Very friendly welcoming staff. Very busy. On the negative side the shower in our room had no pressure and took an absolute age to heat up. We were promised by phone a larger bed than 4'6" but that's what we got. 1st mornings breakfast was buffet style, which was fine. 2nd morning was farcical. 10 minus to order. 25 minutes for a 2 item breakfast which was luke warm and a very poor standard. No toast as ordered. Didn't finish it. People arrived after us, and had finished whilst we were still waiting. A shame. This is a nice hotel, but on this occasion a little disappointing.

Cleanliness of the room, and exceptional breakfast
The balcony, it wasn’t private on one side and we had an hour and half of an old lady talking to us from her balcony, when we just wanted to relax in private. Also the main curtain was on the wrong side of the room - it allowed the people next to us to see right in our room and from the reflection of the mirror as well. Had the curtain been fitted on the left side of the balcony door, it would have given more privacy in our room. We were not happy about that - we paid a lot more for a balcony that we couldn’t use because every time we went out, the couple next door could see us, even from their chair in the room, and kept talking to us! The balcony needs some kind of trellis up to add some privacy to both balcony’s . A small refund to compensate would be nice

A very comfortable, friendly and professionally run hotel in a spectacular - and quiet - location.
As a 'traditional' hotel, the restaurant menu sometimes verged on being too fancy for its own good (crushed pistachio nuts with venison??). A bread roll on the table would have helped with a first course pate and instead of the slice of brown bread with the soup. The portion of goat's cheese with honey, walnuts and raisins was much too large as a starter. The wine list gave no vintages. Sunday evening dinner felt like a continuation of Sunday lunch hours before - an unattractive plate piled high with slightly dry meat, generic gravy, tough roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. Sorry to raise these niggles, but it just took the edge off a lovely dining room with friendly, attentive service, and an effort to rise above the usual bland restaurant fare everywhere else these days.

The location is beautiful. The garden has a fabulous view across the bay and steps down to the beach although they are very very steep and not suitable for people who struggle with steps. The bar staff and restaurant staff were absolutely charming. Reception staff were mostly good but one gentleman was a little ungracious. Beds very comfy. Dogs were welcome in rooms but not public areas.
My room had a view over the car park. The shower was so small you could barely move in it and it was easy to knock the mixer tap so it inadvertently got boiling hot or cold. The breakfast was fine but I would have liked a wider selection of fresh not tinned fruit and fresh juices.

Stunning view. We were in a recently decorated suite with a sea view- I loved automatically opening the curtains to the sunrise. Our suite had a spacious balcony with comfortable furniture., Breakfast had everything we wanted. The menu varied each evening with classics plus interesting and vegetarian dishes that appealed even though we aren't vegetarian. Easy walk into the village for fish and chips. The Breezer Bus makes it a smooth journey from the train station in Bournemouth- ferry included! Get off at the All Saints Church stop and walk a short distance to the hotel.
The breakfast coffee makers were noisy and difficult to get an Americano with two shots + hot water. Had to wait in a que to get coffee? would be better to have a barista or bring pots of filter coffee or cafetière to the table. I would pay extra for the peace.

Everything in good working order and spotlessly clean. Staff attentive, polite and helpful. Plenty of car parking as advertised. Beautiful views of the sea and the Downs, steps straight down to beach. Although on the edge of town, only a ten minute walk along sea front to reach centre. I was particularly delighted to receive an upgrade! After making my original booking for a single room with ensuite, the staff phoned me to explain that the bathroom was just across the corridor. I accepted but asked to be upgraded if ensuite became available. I was told on arrival I had a double room with a sea view - wonderful!

The staff were helpful at all times and the room was clean smart and tidy
Initially when we booked the room I contacted the hotel to ask for a room with 3 single beds however upon calling I was told that I would have to change rooms midway through our stay which I found stressful. Upon my arrival I was still under the impression that I had to change however upon asking the staff they had advised me that there was no need to change which was good news. When booking on the website this should be made clear that a changeay be required to inform people prior to booking. Besides that fantastic

A well cared for hotel with an amazing location with spacious gardens and access to SW Coast Path over the headland, a beautiful bay and the beach below accessed by steps. Good water for swimming. Lovely modern rooms. Very light. Good shower and bathroom. Very clean. Excellent breakfast with huge choice and convivial communal areas with bar. Easy parking in front. Helpful, friendly staff, many of them, local people. No 50 bus stop just below hotel, but can walk into town in 20 mins. Would recommend it to anyone.
The bed was 4'5 double - hotel said to check with them once booked, to get larger size. No fridge.

Breakfast was Excellent ,almost too large. The view was OK as we looked at the car park. The room was more than sufficient meeting all our needs .
Upon arrival the afternoon of Wednesday 19th after a long journey we walked towards the reception desk observing a lady taking a very important telephone call which was of great importance I assume. We were not acknowledged in any way making us feel less than important. We waited patiently for a minute or two to finally be greeted very pleasantly? My advise ,simply to look up and wave if unable to talk reassuring the client you're be there shortly. It really doesn't take much to keep people happy.

The view from the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was stunning. The rooms were well appointed and updated, but the hotel itself was very traditional with fabulous service at reception and in bar/restaurant. Dinner was reasonably priced, and the option to have coffee in the lounge was a popular touch. It feels rare to find this kind of service for this price in hotels now, particularly ones with modern decor and bathrooms. You can also walk down to the beach from the hotel, or bring coffee from the hotel out into the garden to enjoy the views.
Only tiny personal gripe would be the very hot radiators- was possible to turn down but room was still quite hot. Appreciate this is personal preference though.
