The trails and waterfalls were absolutely beautiful. Dinner in the dining room was exceptional as well as the service. Every staff member went out of their way to make you comfortable and help you. The hummingbirds everywhere were amazing.

I didn’t like the wild cat and monkey enclosures. They were too small for the animals and I found it upsetting to know that my stay was contributing to what I would consider abusive confinement for profit. They have a very large property to expand the enclosure areas or not have them at all if they can’t do it right. It really brought the enjoyment of our stay way down. All 3 of us were distressed after visiting that section.

Our family of 5 stayed at Peace Lodge for our last night in Costa Rica. It was the most expensive accommodation of our holiday but the nightly rate includes entry to La Paz Waterfall Gardens and the animal and butterfly sanctuary so we felt it was worth it. It is also only a short drive from San Jose airport which was very convenient. We did the evening animal feeding tour and night frog tour which were both amazing - the guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Our boys also caught sone trout in the lake. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and our family room was gorgeous with its balcony jacuzzi and lovely views. We had a delicious evening meal with great service in the main restaurant and had the buffet lunch the next day before departing for the airport, which was plentiful, delicious and surprisingly great value for money. All the staff were professional, welcoming, knowledgeable and we felt very spoiled throughout our stay.

Having to leave !

Great location, the domain, the friendliness, the welcomeness, the amenities, the rooms, the hummingbird feeders on the balcony, the hannoc, the jacuzzi on the balcony, great room service which was instant, great service overall in restaurants, the food, the breakfast buffet was amazing, the park with the animals, the easy access to the park with the amazing waterfalls. We could go on and on..

The price which was about $800 for the night, added with the additional restaurants bills and the animal feeding tour we did, it came out to over $1200 for one night. The stairs in the domain to visit all amenities like the retuarent, the animal cages, the park, etc.. We did not count them, but yo ucan easily get to 1000 stairs across the domain to get to and from your room to everything.

Beautiful property with enough to do for 3 days. Quiet and not overcrowded. Trout grill was great, as were the trails and views. Relaxing and peaceful.

Dining choices limited for dinner and get redundant after a few days. Food quality is good, but hugely overpriced for what it is. Ubers don't service the area, so you are stuck with the food options on the property (i.e. $5 usd for 1/2 an avocado) and need to arrange a driver to leave the park.

we stayed a month in Costa Rica and this was our last hotel...so glad we ended up here it was magical, animals, mountains, volcanoes, waterfalls... We were welcomed right away by welcome drinks and a super nice guy name Jose who showed us the property..the room was beautiful, the bed super comfortable, bathroom out of this world 2 showers and a garden all around us..Jacuzzi..also a balcony with hummingbird feeder and another Jacuzzi, the fireplace really added an extra special touch. We did a lot of tours with Michael who is nice and professional. He showed us frogs, even a hummingbird nest that are hard to find..he even taught us how to use the phone for amazing shots at night. he showed us bats, let us fed some animals which was an amazing experience..he also took us to Poas Volcano which is right near the hotel. This place has beautiful grounds with lots of trails, rivers, waterfalls. The aviary was nice and the butterfly room was magical. Food was great at all the restaurants there, the staff super nice.they make you feel at home. Daniel,Byron,Bryan,Andres,Jean Pablo, jean carlos great people and they have been working in this hotel for years..some actually helped building this place..I love that the owners keep their workers for such long time some even over 20 years and that says a lot..I can only imagine what great people the owners are. well we enjoyed every second here surrounded by the stars and the sounds of nature. hope to come back again one day.

loved everything

This is the one of the best hotels our family has stayed at! We loved our room, especially the massive bathroom that had the waterfall feature and 2 showers! Dinners were exceptional (although expensive) and we really enjoyed all of the animal activities, especially the feedings. Michael and Rodrigo were our guides and took great care of our family. Everyone who works at the hotel was so friendly and made us feel very welcome!

I've been around the world, this place is on the top 3 of my list. Just a heavenly curated experiential hotel. Kind staff, rooms are outstanding ( the artisan ancient design is made clean and of high quality) restaurant is the best I visited in CR, families would never forget the place. The reserve is amazing, animals feeding is a great experience with value. we did the frog walk at night ( amazing photos). the hot and cold swimming pools are excellent, the Jacuzzi in the rooms are athe only Jacuzzi's we've ever been interested in using, especially the one on the balcony.

The place come at a cost, like everywhere in CR. If you appreciate it you'll enjoy.

The room was amazing with a ridiculously epic view and a jacuzzi in the balcony too! Our bathroom was just incredible with a bath, a shower and a separate waterfall shower. The view and location is breathtaking. It’s secluded enough to make you feel slightly off the grid and the scenery is beautiful. There are some amazing plants to see and plenty of humming birds flying around that make the experience magical. Whoever designed this hotel has put a lot of thought into detail and must have loved nature. There are waterfalls at the property which cannot be missed.

I felt sad for all the dead butterflies being stepped on by the local workers in the butterfly garden and the animals were unfortunately mostly caged, which feels a little off.

Everything! The location is beautiful, the grounds kept perfectly, the rooms are incredible, the food and drinks excellent and the service was incomparable. The rainforest trails are wonderful and the conservation efforts (at first we were concerned ir was a zoo but all the animals have been rescued) are inspirational. It was ridiculously expensive but worth every penny.

The remote location meant that going elsewhere for food or drinks wasn’t really an option, and prices were extremely high.

The Peace Lodge was one of the most amazing and magical places we have ever stayed! Everything from the top notch service to the super comfortable and incredible rooms to the facilities that included holding toucans, hummingbirds, and feeding a sloth...this place was a dream for our family. My 10yr old daughter even announced she plans to come back for her honeymoon.

Nothing bad to say about this place!
