Room was cozy with a good view. Garden was gorgeous with table tennis and tabletop football and a lot of nice seating options. Breakfast was basic but good. You could order eggs and got them fresh from the pan. A few whole grain bread options would be nice.

The Internet in our room was not working properly, either no connection at all or very slow. Since the cell service is not good either, due to the mountains and kind of remote location, it was frustrating to plan the next day not to mention watching a video (which was not possible at all) A mosquito net for the balcony door would be wonderful.

It’s very well located for different tourist locations such as the eagles nest, Berchesgarten and Kögnisse. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel/outdoor centre where you can get local busses or a bus to Salzberg. Breakfast was fabulous. The staff were very friendly and helpful and you could get drinks very reasonably priced at the reception. We booked on day 1 to do the rafting at the outdoor centre and it was AMAZING! There was other activities that you could do too and plenty of things to keep children entertained for free such as frisbee golf, table football and table tennis.

Travel Guru Rick Steves recommends quaint guesthouses (=pensions) instead of chain hotels. Almhof Baumgarten is indeed a hidden gem. We stayed at the property on Sep 10th during our trip to Alps. The room was spacious and comfortable. Seeing the mountains at dawn through the upstairs balcony window was memorable. The owner has a kind and warm personality, even helping with our luggage. The main building is across from the dining area, but there is no thru traffic and plenty of free parking spots. In the evening you can enjoy free tea, coffee and get to chat with other friendly travelers. Breakfast was bountiful and delicious. Highly recommended. - Kris

Lovely hotel with spacious clean rooms in a glorious area. There was an honesty bar which was very reasonably priced. They had refrigerators available for guests use, which was very useful as we were on a road trip. Really nice breakfast with a wide range of options to suit all tastes.

The property was just off a main road, making it convenient to get to, but not as quiet as we've previously had in this area. One of the more expensive places we stayed on our road-trip across Europe, but the price seemed comparable for the area.

The rooms were spatious, good bed. Balcony was also spatious with great view and fridge. Best thing was the breakfast, personel was very friendly always making a fresh omelet even when it was busy.

Nothing realy dissapointed. You do have to walk outside to go from your room to the breakfast area but we were looking for the outdoors.

the rooms was nice and cozy. There were plenty of rooms for my family of 4 and perfect as stopover for our trip across Europe. the pillows and blanket was fluffy and comfortable. Breakfast was very good and they made freshmade eggs every morning. Personel was very nice and made it possible for us to check in in the middle of the night

Its important you understand and speak German because personnel could not understand english

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Arrived quite late due to flight delay but the staff checked us in anyway. Breakfasts were nice with attentive staff. They were located in the other building. The room was basic, but there was a fridge on the balcony. The view from our room was nice. Very nice garden with lots of different activities to do.

No bathroom amenities (like shower gel, shampoo). Bed mattress was rather soft for our liking.

Very friendly and warm people. Josef who own the place and multiple businesses works hard as a dedicated host. Willing to help with your bags make you great egg for breakfast. Richard was another kind soul. The house keeper from Kosovo was very helpful. It is a very family oriented place. Lot of activity for kids to do. Beautiful surrounding and scenery. Highly recommended.

Everything. It was family oriented and homey, beautiful location and building, excellent breakfast, and above all amazing service from Josef. I liked being able to get a Radler and play with my family! I will absolutely be back if possible, and look forward to trying adventure activities.
