We booked our stay at the last moment en route back through France to the Channel Islands from a family holiday in Italy. We received fantastic communication and a warm and personal welcome from Chantal and Pierre, who couldn't do enough to help us. They found the perfect balance of being on-hand for anything we needed without being overbearing and the stay was really over-and-above our expectations; a beautiful period French property, charming grounds and a lovely swimming pool for our son. The continental breakfast was filling and delicious; pastries were crisp and light, and the (home-made?) jam was gorgeous. The blackout blinds in our top floor room allowed us a long lie in after a really tiring drive and we were blown away by the beautiful centre of Le Mans with its catherdral and eateries. We would gladly highly recommend Manoir des Turets and are already planning to make it part of our next visit to/through France! Thank you to Chantal & Pierre (and the dogs and cat!) Very welcoming and charming hosts, Chantal and Pierre. Close to Le Mans, where there are a number of good restaurants, but none as good as L’Epi’curieux, where I was lucky to get the last dining table. Spacious bedroom, with a view over the river and trees; bathroom with a shower; excellent breakfast with every conceivable form of bread and croissants, with five different honeys and fresh jams; multiple fresh fruits (and a hard boiled egg). Heated and covered swimming pool in the large shady garden for a refreshing morning swim - decent size.

One very minor point - the Wi-Fi was weak, tested over both an iPhone and an iPad mini.

Chantelle and Pierre are a charming couple and made us feel very welcome. We spent 6 days exploring the region between relaxing in the glorious garden beside the pool. In a heatwave the airconditioned room was fantastic and bed & bathroom comfy. Breakfasts were beautifully served and more than adequate. Great to charge our EV overnight too. Altogether a very warm French experience!! Thank you to both.

The Manoir is in a beautiful setting bordering onto the River Sarthe. The gardens are large with plenty of seating and there is a small pool which was covered when we were there but can be open. There is ample parking and the gates are on a cops so very secure. Our room was large and comfy with air conditioning and an en suite. Breakfast is continental- eggs, nuts, fruit, pastries etc. Both the hosts were charming and welcoming. We only stayed for a night but would happily stay here again, hopefully longer and visit the surrounding area.

Beautiful property just next to the river. Easy to find. Owners were more than perfect and spoke better English than we did French. Lovely couple. Breakfast superb. Rooms immaculate. Bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in. Views of countryside from bedroom stunning. Will be going back on our next road trip to Spain as it was simply lovely.

Hosts were charming, even carried our bags upstairs, breakfast was everything you could wish for. Host made a special trip to the shops to obtain some Earl Grey Tea. One of the rooms was double aspect and looked over the river and the very pleasant gardens. I imagine that with permission one can fish from the bank of the river. 10/10

Nothing all was good

Hosts were very welcoming and friendly after a 14 hour travel, that just what we needed. It was late and we were quickly directed to a local restaurant which was lovely and only a 5 minute walk. Grounds and rooms are beautiful! Breakfast was great, good selection of food. Wish we could have stayed longer very peaceful and relaxing, definitely helped recharge to continue travel. Thank you.

Nothing to not like

We were very warmly welcomed and looked after by our hosts in their fabulous period property in beautiful grounds situated on the outskirts of Le Mans. Very comfortable large rooms. The pool was a welcome bonus after a day driving in the car. Highly recommend.

The property is close to a main road which slightly affects the peacefulness of this lovely spot.

The setting was beautiful, shame the weather didn't allow us to enjoy it. Our hosts Chantal and Pierre were charming. Breakfast was superb and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, next time perhaps for two nights to enjoy the area.
