This is a neat hotel with regular facilities like air conditioner, mini refrigerator and an electric kettle. (I think they also have a sauna inside the hotel but we were out most of the day) My favorite thing about it was the bathroom. It was quite nicely designed. Location: Easily walkable from the subway station nearby (one stop from Kyoto stn) but also could walk to it if wanted directly from Kyoto Station (about 15-18 mins?) Also there is a bus stop in front of the hotel but probably not good to ride if you have luggage. Directly nearby the hotel there isn't much. Silent neighborhood. There is a 7-11 store 3-4 mins away. If you go back to Kyoto Station there are many restaurants and stores (terminal has a mall attached to it)

No microwave in room but that is normal for most hotel rooms. No smart TV.

The Green Rich Hotel was very nice. The place was really clean and had everything I needed. The breakfast buffet was really good and their staff was always so nice and helpful. I never got to use the public bath and the hotel was a little further from Kyoto station than I thought. But the bus stop was right out the door so that was helpful. Overall it was a nice stay for my time in Kyoto.

The sauna is only for men and the public bath for women is only open at certain hours so I didn't go. And was the hotel is a little far from the train station so I had to get a taxi to take me and all my luggage there. But still a nice hotel.

Stayed there back in April 2025, just got the time to review. The hotel is a about 10 minute walk (for someone that walks slow) from kyoto station. Its very convenient with 7E just around the corner for snacks. Just right in front of the hotel is a bus station can go straight to Gion, Sanenzaka Ninenzaka area. Just around the corner is Kujo Train station if too lazy to walk until Kyoto Station. Room was clean, comfortable for stays.

Not much, but probably the pillow was a bit flat. They provide extra pillow in the hallway, you can take anytime.

The room was larger than expected and the traditional bathing area was massive too- it was a pleasant surprise. Room was clean and our floor was surprisingly quiet. The breakfast was good as well.

It was a little hard to figure out how to work the room ac unit, so the room was stuffy and humid at times, when we would get back for the day (AC would only be on if you had a room card in the slot). We had to blast the AC to get the room to a cool enough temperature to sleep.

Great location (main bus routes in the city are right outside the hotel door). Room is good, breakfast is good (not great) and has variety and western stuff.

Receptionists could barely speak english. We have been in 6 different hotels in our visit to Japan and this was the only hotel where the receptionist needed to use a translator device that recorded audio. He could not understand a word. Also, the hotel dryer machines (in the laundry room) do not work at all.

The Public bath was really good and I would recommend going to it after full day of walking in Kyoto. Also it is next to convienent bus stop. Train station was 10-15min away so it was not always easiest way. Rooms were clean and if you did not like pilow you could change it. Bathroom was spacious and had window so it was really cozy as you could fully open it for Sun light

Wifi was really slow and sometimes even did not work.

There's a bus stop right in front of the hotel. The room was clean with shower tools provided in the lounge. The spa bath was really good too. The hotel provided extra pillows, robes etc for guests in the corridor. Quick breakfast options provided via ticket purchase.

My room faced the main road so I could hear cars pass at night. I had to close my window because of this. It wasn't too loud but I noticed as I had trouble sleeping in Japan.

The room we got was really nice and spacious. I loved the layout of the room overall. Of the similar hotel room types we’ve stayed in so far for our trip, this was probably one of the comfiest we’ve been in!

Not too big of an issue but the immediate accommodation tax during the check-in process caught me by surprise. Might be due to the explanation or our misunderstanding of the explanation though (language barrier). Had to re-read booking details to confirm what it was for. The fee wasn’t big at all but would have preferred to have it charged on our initial payment rather than separately so that it’s clear what it was for

The room was big enough and very comfortable. The bed was big and the desk very useful. I was able to work very comfortable in my room.

I wish they had a make up mirrow, as the mirror in the bathroom had very little light, same as the one in the room. The public bath was a bit dirty. Maybe they do not clean it everyday, but they were many hairs on the shower area and inside the water. Well, I understand it is easy to get hairs everywhere if you do not clean daily. Not a big deal, but I wish they had clean it a bit more.

very clean, well located, tasty tea, good breakfast, the room is well equipped, friendly personnel.

the public bath was a bit filthy, hair, traces of soap, I noticed that visitors don't take a shower before visiting it. I also didn't like that women brought their sons to it. no hooks in the bathroom. the tax during check in. 1 blanket for 2 people
