This hotel is close to the main train station in Kyoto, close to a shopping mall and to an ancient shrine.

We had to pay an extra charge to access our room 45 minutes before check-in but we could leave our luggage there for free between 11 am and check in. The breakfast all you can eat buffet was disappointing, slimy scrambled eggs were cold the same for the bacon and the tiny sausages.

They have a public bath (onsen)which was great for relaxing after a long day walking. Very good value for money. Hotel staff were always super helpful. They provide pyjamas (even if this is customary in Japan it is always great to have them)

The location was okay but a good 10-15 minute walk to Kyoto station. The area has really no amenities and the walk to the station is boring. However, this may have been reflected on the very good price per night, including breakfast

It literally opened a day before our check-in!! Brand new hotel. Love being able to borrow a bike free to ride around Kyoto. The gender-separate onsen on B1 was great and the breakfast area is huge! Great security as the key card only takes you to your designated floor. We stayed at Moderate twin room with sofa bed (not expandable as you just make the sofa a bed, I think 3 adults will be very tight with luggage) and it is big enough for 2. Bed was comfortable and air con and humidifier quiet. I was told the only difference between Moderate and Superior rooms is the bath tub vs standing shower on Moderate. The most expensive corner rooms they offer are spacious. Great pressure on shower. AeON food mall across the street, and 10-15 min walk to JR Kyoto station. They allow luggage storage on the day of check-in and check-out. The veteran staff I met spoke English well and everyone of nice.

Amenities table don’t have drip coffee packs (yet), you have to ask for it at the counter. Other than that nothing to dislike at all. It met our needs and cost preference when I booked. No bus stop in front of hotel so you really need to walk here from the train station, if it rains there is no cover.

I previously stayed here alone in January for a few days and enjoyed it so much that I came back with a friend in July. The location is very convenient, around 8 minutes from Kyoto Station on foot. There are Kombinis all around the hotel and a massive shopping mall with food court on the other side of the street. Toji (the neighborhood) itself is pretty quiet and peaceful and there‘s multiple temples nearby. The (western) Breakfast is one of the best I‘ve had in Japan so far, lots of options to choose from. There‘s a very nice public bath in the basement that‘s even got a cold plunge. The washing machines are great and there‘s also vending machines in house even with some alcoholic options.

Last time (in January) I reserved the moderate twin room and received a massive room on the top floor with a view. This time I reserved the superior twin room and paid three times as much as I did in January and received a small room on the second floor with the TV at an awkward angle, a window that wouldn‘t open and a blocked view. That was a massive downer.

We enjoyed our stay at Loisir Hotel Staff was very friendly room was very clean . What I liked most was the location of the Hotel it was very close to Toji Station and about a 10 min walk to Kyoto Station . The Aon Mall was 5 min away which had restaurants and a Starbucks which was lovely . The Kyoto Station also had plenty of restaurants and coffee shops also stores for gifts to bring home for family and friends .

The Hotel room was really small ! There was 3 of us and it was very crowded . We each had a roller carry on and we had to be creative with placing our luggage at the foot of our beds which blocked the walk way to the restroom . The check in process was a little confusing the front desk pointed to a check- in machine which i had no experience with and ended up doing it wrong so the staff had to take over but then my card ended up being charges twice ! I reached out to the Hotel later after my stay letting them know they had charged my card twice and they acknowledged the mistake and started the refund process .

The rooms were very clean and new. Had everything we needed. We did have to push the beds together to make space for our suitcases, but we didn't mind as we sleep in the same bed. Loved the public bath area and laundry facilities/microwave area. It was handy as the local mall was just up the street with a great grocer. Close to kyoto station about 10 minutes walk. We found stopping at Toji station easier and closer. We took advantage of the free bike hire and rode to the main part of Kyoto, which was about 20 minutes but a fun way to see the area. Overall, it is a very accounting stay. We would stay here again.

We were close to the elevators and could constantly hear them ding each time. It was very loud and disrupting of sleep. I would request a room away from the elevators.

New hotel. Great service. Good location - walkable to the Kyoto station, or take a bus, if you do not fancy one mile walk. The rooms are Japan size. Comfortable for Japan beds. We would definitely stay here again while in Kyoto. Highly recommended. Short walks to local bus stops (by that I mean less a quarter mile), but we are used to longer walks. Friendly English speaking front desk.

We actually got what we expected. They would not let us check in an hour earlier though they had the rooms ready, but I am sensing it is the norm here, so we just waited it out in the lobby with comfortable seating.

The room was perfect for the three of us, the pajamas they provided were a nice touch! It was handy having the Washing machine/driers on site but sometimes you had to queue. The free bike hire was also a fantastic way to visit some temples (we used it for a night ride!). Location wise it was a short walk from Kyoto station and Aeon mall (great food hall) and many of the smaller convenience stores. I would definitely stay here again.

Nothing

It was a twin room, hence we had two bathrooms, which was very convenient. The place also has a sentou which was nice after a heavy rain day. It was close to the station, so to go back to Tokyo with our luggages that was easier.

It was a bit expensive for a hotel a bit far from the tourists spots.

Excellent location. Walking distance to Kyoto station and is located next to an Aeon Mall. The staff were very helpful when we enquired about luggage transfer. There is a coin laundry service here which is great and there is a machine to exchange your coins downstairs. There is also a station to refill your daily essentials/amenities near the lift. TV was great as you can watch Netflix and cast from your phone.

The clothes dryer didn't dry our clothes properly and it would be great if there was a longer table in the room for us to put our belongings.
