The breakfast was great. We have a family of four with some allergies and there was something for everyone to eat. We especially liked the fresh fruits and selection of hot food and local dishes. The room was very comfortable. Having a soaking tub was wonderful and nice to relax after a long day of walking and touring around the lake. The room was spacious and the tatami area was perfect for our little ones to sleep in their own semi-private area. The balcony with the water view was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. Free use of bicycles and the free game area were great ways to keep the kids occupied. Free shuttle to and from hotel to the bus stop was appreciated.

The bicycles could have been maintained better (adjusting seat heights was difficult). The kids club is an extra charge but I didn't see that stated anywhere under the amenities. The room was a little dated but good enough. We came to enjoy the lake and nature, not to spend the day in the hotel.

Transportation staff drove the family to bus stand by as driver was not available at that time and we were able to catch our last bus to taichung. Very outstanding gentleman

When we checked in front desk Dec 27th the lady refused to book for hot spring in another near by hotel over phone not provided transportation help. Later I have started asking transportation staff directly to drop us off hot spring earlier I had to walk to book. Just inconvenience. PLease educate staff on the service to be provided. Last year , Dec 2023 when I stayed front desk lady at that time booked for us which was very easy and need not have to make 2 trips.

The location of the hotel is very nice with a nice view of the lake. The beds are comfortable and there is a terrace attached to the room. The large Japanese seating area is kind of charming but we would have preferred a Sofa or lounge chairs or some kind of hangers for clothes etc.

We thought the hotel was due for a refurbishment. They was a stuffy smell to our room, which has carpets and fabrics in a very humid climate. It was also not really clean in some of the corners.

The location is close to Suishe Visitor Center where the bus drops visitors off. It's about a 20 minute walk with luggage but we asked the hotel shuttle to pick us up and drop us off at the visitors center when we arrived and left. You can also schedule ahead of time if you want the shuttle to drop you off at Suishe at other times. There was a large buffet breakfast that was quite tasty. The room was also very clean and we liked the view. There were many bikes to use for free to bike along the bike path. This is not a criticism (and Sun Moon Lake is primarily a domestic tourist location) but a FYI - if you don't speak Chinese, communication with the hotel staff might be a bit challenging. Some staff had a little bit of English language skills but that was not necessarily consistent. That's ok though :) just be prepared with some sort of translator app which is definitely useful in Taiwan anyway.

Location of the Hotel - not so convenient and no shops nearby (nearest is about 15 mins walk). Shuttle bus is every hour to and fro but can always uber around. Hence not a big concern for us and we wanted a quiet place to stay. Breakfast is ok and room is big and view to the lake is beautiful.

Didnt like that the transport back to hotel will need to be pre-booked, if not they may not drive out to pick passengers up. Overall not a big problem as uber around is also convenient. Walking back from pier and singing APT along the road is also enjoyable.

Excellent location, close to Shuishe wharf to catch ferries (10 min walk). Plenty of complimentary bikes at hotel and we used them to do the bike trail too (I do note it is shoulder season so maybe this changes during peak). Breakfast was included and it was delicious and abundant. Our room had a spa and tatami mat area which we did not expect! Balcony view of lake was great too. Courteous staff (Eugine).

I initially thought it was quite expensive vs some other hotels we considered but this was fantastic value for money and I’m glad we booked this hotel.

We had an amazing time at Sun Moon Lake Hotel, thanks to the excellent rooms with private partition option within the room for dining/work purposes. view from the balcony was awesome, you can access to lake walking trail from hotel. Room had hot-tubs with TV on the wall (haven't see it else where). They have good kids play area and game room. Hotel provided free bikes to go around the lake. Free shuttle buses to market/pier hourly.

Good lake view, good biking trail, free use of bikes, the room is nice, spacious and clean, the breakfast buffet is good and the staff members are friendly and helpful.

A little far from the pier and convenience stores, the shuttle bus did not run late enough that we had to call taxi to drive us back from Ita Thai, but the lady driver arrange by the hotel was excellent. The food for dinner at the restaurant of the hotel was not that good. The rest rooms by the restaurants smelled.

The view of the lake was fabulous and the room was clean and modern The breakfast buffet that came with the room far exceeded my expectations. they had a huge selection of freshly made chinese dishes, fruits, and best of all excellent coffee. The staff were extremely attentive. We came by train and bus and the lake is big enough that not having a car was somewhat limiting. But we were able on several occasions to arrange, on fairly short notice to be dropped off to nearby destinations by the hotel shuttle driver who was always polite and friendly

The free bikes were a bit rickety. I couldn't find one whose seat wasn't frozen into too low a position for me to use and so gave up on their bikes.
