I was in Des Moines to attend a funeral. Wildwood Lodge was comforting from the moment I entered. The “Minnesota Northwoods” decor was an immediate relaxing environment for me and the staff was very friendly. My room was large, clean, comfortable, and inviting with the low-light and comfy chair in the corner and the continuation of the Northwoods decor. I also enjoyed the step-in shower. The all inclusive breakfast was totally adequate and provided a variety from cereal, oatmeal, bagels, waffles to eggs , gravy and biscuits etc. I greatly appreciated that check-out was not until noon!

I loved the friendly staff and the cabin feeling

The only thing I would maybe change is the location of the room we had. There’s 3 levels, we stayed on the 2nd. About 3am, I was woken up by the guest on the level 3 room above us, walking all throughout their room. It literally sounded like they were stomping throughout their room. This went on for at least half an hour. I turned the fan up on the ac controller to help drown out the sound. Thankfully the noise didn’t wake up my kiddo. But next time I would prefer to stay on the 3rd floor

From check in to check out the entire stay was perfect. Anthony and Jasmine were truly wonderful. The Manager and morning clerk, I apologize I do not know their names were the kindest Women. We went to spend time together as Teresa is very ill. We could not have asked for a better place to be to spend our time together. Your lodge and the staff made this vacation one of the most memorable and unforgettable we will have.

Keeping people from smoking and using marijuana near the fire pit would be wonderful. I know that’s difficult it just kept us away due to lung issues.

Everything.. I had a medical appointment in Clive .& Rena gave us a room on the back side 2nd floor . Very Very quite ... plan on staying there again ...it was a great staff to work ..had a small heater problem with the theroasat she took care of it ...with a Smile !...very nice .staff

Not a thing ,, it will be on my places to vist at no...ive pased it to other freinds !!!! .

The staff did above and beyond communicating with us, and they made my partners birthday extra special for her, we will be going back here again in the future for sure!

The hot tub was down when we first got there, but was fixed by the next day, and they called us before we checked in to let us know that would be the case so it wasn't even a bad thing.

Breakfast was good. Lots of selection and nice hot dishes. Fire pit is nice to sit by and meet people. Staff was extremely nice and caring. Location is great because you don’t hear interstate noise. The area. Is safe to walk in. I like that we could walk to places to eat.lots of good area to meet friends and family to visit.

Our room had a tear in the ceiling of the bathroom and the tile on the edge in the bathroom was all pulled away from the wall. It just needs a little TLC. I would appreciate a small microwave in the room. I use it to heat a pack for sore bones from travel. I would like an area by the pool to sit outside to get away from the pool smell and get some Sun. Pool area was clean and nice but pool seemed cloudy and so much chemicals. The friendly staff was the best.

The breakfast selection was great! We loved the pool and the decorations of the whole hotel! I left behind my water cup and my son dropped his stuffed animal and both items were taken to the front desk and they had them there for us!

The rock structure by the hot tub was hard to watch my son in the pool. I wish I could have been able to sit anywhere in the hot tub to be able to watch him play. I heard several other mothers sitting in the hot tub relaying the same information. It was a nice break to relax if you didn't have kids, but being more of a family hotel I feel that structure would be better not being so high so we can view our kids/husbands in the pool playing.

All aspects of our stay were fantastic!! From check-in to the large, comfortable room to the pool/hot tub area, outdoor fire pit, breakfast area and the breakfast attendants, front desk staff at check-in and check-out…all were top notch. The room was large, the bed was very comfortable and there was a great selection for breakfast. Really enjoyed the decor and the location was easy to get to. There was a Chili’s restaurant sharing the parking lot, so very convenient to walk to. Would definitely stay here again!!

Loved the breakfast buffet and the dining room staff were excellent. Please tell them so for me! I was impressed with the cleanliness of the bathroom. Made me want to buy some Calgon. Maybe next time!

The room was not very sound proof. Lots of kids banging doors and yelling in the hallway.

Loved how comfortable it was!

When we checked in the front desk staff was a little rude. Asking how many kids. We had 4 older kids and we originally were going on a vacation but had a sudden change of plans when our car broke down on the side of the interstate. We had to find a nice hotel quickly to salvage what was left of our vacation. We didn’t cause problems but we were told that if they knew we had that many kids we wouldn’t have been allowed.
