Amazing breakfasts, very comfortable bed, helpful and attentive service, superb food, delicious cocktails, loved the pool and spa.

A couple of pre-arrival issues: I took the trouble to send all my personal details as requested to check-in online, and yet the desk did not have my email address when I phoned to request a menu. Also, I tried to book a table online but did not receive a reply until over 24 hours later to say that my requested time could not be fulfilled…in the meantime I had telephoned to make the reservation which was confirmed immediately… These were only mildly irritating issues, but it occurs to me that the client communication systems could be improved.

Beautiful property. Quiet and private. Excellent facilities, the spa was amazing and included in the price of the room. The room was such a good value as a last minute booking. It was our mini moon and the staff were thoughtful and left a gift in our room when we arrived! Restaurant food was amazing!

The restaurant staff were quite slow and not very attentive however were friendly when we did get their attention. Still a fantastic stay

Stayed with friends for 60th birthday. Everything about the hotel is amazing and the staff really make it the most fantastic place to stay, the whole team is fabulous. A special thank you to the waiter at dinner who helped steer a tricky guest out of our way! Very attentive and professional. Thank you so much for the upgrade to suites for my friends and I. Spotlessly clean, fabulous food in the restaurant, very relaxing peaceful atmosphere throughout the hotel. Great rooftop bar.

The property is both modern and old using the facade of the old cognac warehouse. It’s a ten minute walk into the town centre that need a real update it’s quite run down. Room was great, pool and rooftop bar were god as well. Breakfast was not to the standard I would have expected in a five star hotel. Overall pretty good and great location to visit Remy Martin

The rooms were spacious, comfortable and very clean. The spa facility is one of the best I’ve been to.

There was some confusion on checking in about the deposit, forewarning your card is actually charged 750 euros and returned on check out. I found this unusual and the explanation was not clear. There was also a lack of late night room service food (we arrived at 11pm starving but didn’t want a sit down meal)

We stayed 2 nights here and it was exceptional. We flew into Bordeaux and hired a car, it was about 1:30 min drive to the hotel. We booked the basic room and it was lovely. Newly built and decorated room that was spacious. The food is excellent. There are 2 restaurants, a brasserie and a more formal restaurant that claims to have a Michelin star. We did the formal restaurant first and had such a lovely meal. We opted for a four/five course dinner with paired wines which was very reasonable cost considering the high standard of food. The brasserie was also of a high standard. The spa is great. New facilities throughout with a large pool and jacuzzi. The rooftop bar was lovely and a great place to have a pre/post dinner drink with views over Cognac and a lovely sunset. Staff were excellent too. I would recommend to anyone for a couple of nights stay.

My only criticism is the wine menu is a little expensive considering it’s made on their doorstep. €55 for the cheapest bottle is not unreasonable but I guess this is where they make their money

Beautiful hotel, excellent facilities and great food. Everything was exactly as pictured on booking.com We were later than expected arriving due to traffic, reception staff went out of their way to ensure we could still eat dinner and we followed this with drinks on the roof terrace where there was a pianist and excellent cocktails. 5* service and facilities without any snobbery - perfect

There was nothing to dislike

A lovely room, exceptionally quiet and great facilities. Close to the town and the staff couldn't be more helpful and made the experience very memorable.

The price was on the high side considering breakfast was included and drinks were also on the high side, but paying the price for a 5* experience so I should have appreciated better that the whole experience was going to be on the high side.

A lot of time, effort and thought has gone into creating this beautiful hotel with, it feels like, no expense spared. We got a really good deal for our one night through booking.com making it exceptionally good value for money. The jacuzzi and pool are especially lush as is the rooftop bar. The staff are all a delight, as you'd expect. I loved the luxury of walking around in bare feet on the thick carpets and beautiful floors. The covered parking area keeps your car cool in hot weather and makes loading/unloading much more pleasant. The rooms are fabulous. We had a 'basic' garden room with our own table in our garden and it was good to see a lot of eco friendly techniques used to maintain the gardens. The bed was sumptuous.

You expect a 5* hotel to be expensive but actually the lunch menu and rooftop bar weren't crazy expensive at all. The Michelin starred restaurant (which we didn't try on this occasion) is obviously more expensive but even those prices looked in the zone. The breakfast however I do think is a bit overpriced at 35€pp. It was a very nice buffet but there wasn't an offer of anything freshly cooked to order or anything particularly different. I would have liked to see smoked salmon for example although I didn't ask for it.

Breakfast buffet was reasonable but limited fresh fruit. Evening dining was also adequate and overall good. The Jazz bar was never open so the only bar for a pre dinner drink was rooftop bar. Not really comfortable or free from the weather. Gym and pool very good. Suite we had was well furnished with 2 wardrobes.

Apart from bar nothing.
