Even though this property was built in the 60s it is well maintained and offers a great deal for the price. The breakfast was exceptional as was the pool and location. We came to Tomar by train and simply had to walk straight out of the station and walk through town to the property. The hotel is on the edge of town so out of the huddle and bustle of the tourist areas but, having said that, still just 3 minutes to the start of the historical area. Live piano music in Friday and Saturday nights. The pianist was very accomplished! Tomar is quite small and the historical area is very walkable.

The bed was a bit hard but I found that to be true for 3out of our 4 hotels in Portugal.

• The first thing we encounter is a huge hall, which is a big plus. Almost all hotels in this city have relatively small lobbies. • A fairly large room with a view (in our case) of the pool. The bathroom is spacious enough with a bathtub and shower • Very deep pool 2.5 meters. This is the deepest hotel pool I have ever seen (and I have stayed in many hotels) For me it was a big plus!!! • Very attentive staff.

These are rather small comments, but definitely not complaints. • Some doors (mini bar and wardrobe) did not function well. Over time, the hinges became loose • I'm not the first to write about this in the reviews, but something needs to be done with the carpeting in the lobby. • It would be a good idea to add an omelette or fried eggs station for breakfast as well as fried tomatoes. But overall, the breakfast was good enough.

We did not get the large bed we hoped for--had twins, and poor view of the meetings floor roofs. Everything was an extra charge--coffee in room, water in room, PARKING $5.00/day (but only for Booking.com guests). Got late check-out but had to ask and plead for same time friends got just for asking. TV sucked--no Olympics.

The hotel is in a wonderful location. But I think you must do something about your menu. The food we ordered in the restaurant was not good. Which spoiled our lunch. So we were forced to eat at little restaurants in town. We would prefer to eat at the hotel

The restaurant recommended by hotel had nice ambiance but terrible food and inferior house wine, We are not tourists but have been living in Portugal for 20 years.

Great Prefer Very nice location, spacious lobby and great staff. My kids found the AC and TV a bit outdated as they were very old models and not too many choices to watch, the AC in the kids room was not chilling the room to the temperature we prefer. But overall it was not bad. Wish they had at least 2 complementary tea bags, sugar and milk sachets as I am used to having my cup of tea as soon as I wake up. I don't think that costs more than 2-4 euros and can easily be slipped into the room cost if it's done smartly. Breakfast was great, kids feasted on almost everything, so well done with that. The pool was decent as well.

Room fantastic including the Views! Breakfast was excellent including the evening meal' The Chef and Catering Staff was Exceptional for we ate just prior to 10PM and my TIP was Warrented Food was presented to a very high standard!!!! Well done all for catering for our late arrival. I' like tradition where-ever I go' and the Tomar History will interest All' especially certain organisations history.

Very easy to find and looks awesome on arrival. Ample outdoor parking. Reception area is very spacious and grand. The staff are really very helpful and for those who are visiting for the Templar experience, Francisco is very knowledgeable. The room actually consisted of an entrance lobby, bedroom, bathroom and balcony, so was very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast offered a wide choice and was served in a beautiful dining room, which is also used for evening meals. The evening menu was varied and food delicious. There is a large outdoor pool which wasn't always busy. The hotel is only five minutes walk from the beautiful town centre and ten minutes walk (uphill) from the Templar historical sites. A final mention must be made of after visit care - we left some items behind in our room and the hotel staff kindly packaged them up and posted them home for us. You have to cover the postage cost though.

There is little not to like about this hotel. it has a 1960s vibe but is immaculately kept and has a good amount of amenities. The service was excellent, friendly and patient. The restaurant offered a high quality breakfast and a gourmet dinner, while the hotel is surrounded by beautiful gardens.

While some elements were a little old fashioned, this did not impact the quality of my stay. i would say several areas of the hotel appeared off limits and this seems a shame - an old bar is closed and the old lobby and other shops are now off limits.

Spacious room, comfortable bed, balcony with a nice view. We really liked that there was a little hall at the entrance of the room that was separated from the bedroom by a door, it allowed us to get our stuff organised in the evening and use the bathroom without waking up our son that was sleeping in the bedroom. The hotel lobby and breakfast room was also quite cosy.

The cot we were given was quite old (high and with bars and a metallic structure) and since our 1,5 years old baby was almost able to climb out of it, we had to put it very tight between our bed and the wall.
