Location provided a beautiful view of the ruins and easy access. Staff lovely and professional. Breakfast was substantial in their fourth floor dining room overlooking the ruins, with a good variety of cheeses, cold cuts, breads, yogurt, pastries, and more. There's a nice little pizza shop with gelato too next door, and a bank with an ATM is just a few feet away. The grocery store Carrefour is about 12 minutes away on foot. If you go to the main train station and buy a Campania Artecard Lite from the information desk to the left as you go in, you get access to lots of sights in the Campania region for only €26. Ample gated parking is around the corner behind the hotel. There was a kettle in the room, with two teacups and two tea bags. The minibar fridge had room for a few of our things. We had two-pin adapters, which worked in the bathroom outlet. It seems like the three-pin adapters would be better for the outlets by the bed.

One of the beds was hard. The water was off for a few hours due to a plumbing problem, but it was repaired by the time we got back to the hotel.

My wife and I stayed 5 days,the room we had was clean and adequate for what we needed and had everything we needed The breakfast was a continental breakfast and got to say was excellent . We tried the restaurant and once again the meal we had was lovely and at a good price. The hotel is in an excellent place for visiting the ruins in Pompeii, literally across the road and just a few minutes walk to the main square. There are lots of choices to eat in walking distance. The staff were excellent and very helpful. Overall got to say it was a excellent choice for us and if you ask would we stay again,most definitely.

The location of the hotel is excellent, opposite the entrance to the Pompeii Amphitheater, the best entrance if you want to see the three Villas of Pompeii. The rooms are good, the staff is great and the breakfast is excellent. From scrambled eggs, bacon to over 10 types of cakes. The hotel restaurant has excellent pizza. Special thanks to the waiter who recommended which one to choose. And a big thank you to the waitress who made us coffee (she'll know why ♡). The hotel has its own private parking lot. All in all, kudos to the staff who made our phenomenal stay in Pompeii even better. They are all great and helpful. The facade of the hotel is currently being renovated, but that didn't bother us at all. The works are not heard and do not disturb the stay in any way.

The location of this hotel is ideal if you want to visit the ruins as it's literally across the street. The hotel itself is clean and there's enough English spoken to get by as the staff is very helpful. My room was huge as I had upgraded to a larger room and was on the 3rd floor. Yes, the scaffolding is still there as they are working on the roof. Does it ruin the view? Not really as the trees block the view to the ruins anyway so you're not really missing anything. I stayed a couple of nights and came in on my motorcycle that I parked in their secured lot. The gate is shut all day. There's lot of restaurants within walking distance and one in the hotel which is excellant.

There were a few maintenance issues that should have been addressed but they were minor ones.

The staff are wonderfully friendly and our bedroom was beautifully clean and comfortable as were the communal areas. Breakfast every morning had a great choice and some beautifully baked cakes, again we were welcomed by lovely staff. It was a little disappointing that our balcony had no chairs to sit on and was quite grubby due to scaffolding work being put up all over the hotel which we weren’t told about beforehand, as we chose a room with a balcony because we like to sit out of an evening it was a shame, also we were promised views of the ancient ruins and Vesuvius whereas we had views of scaffolding and trees, although you couldn’t get much closer to the ancient ruins. That being said I would definitely recommend this hotel or location, staff friendliness, cleanliness and location.

We took a junior suite, which was both spacious and comfortable. Right opposite the entrance to Pompeii, the position could not have been better, also being close to the town centre. The breakfast had a lot of options too,. However, it was the exceptional service given by the manager, Ornella which went beyond what was expected. Due to the toll road from Napoli not accepting Visa or Mastercard, and a lack of cash, we were issued with a ticket which needed to be paid at a bank or post office. As this was our last day here, we were worried how to sort this out quickly, but Ornella simply walked us to her bank, so we could get it sorted. Unbelievable service....Thank you.

No table and chairs on the balcony was a slight let down.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel del Sole. It is a small, modern hotel just steps from the quieter entrance to Pompei. Close to the modern town of Pompei, with many restaurants and shops nearby. The rooms were spacious, clean and confortable. We had a small balcony with views up to the hills. Breakfast was great, both hot and cold food, as well as delicious home made cakes and pastries. Wonderful views from the breakfast room of Vesuvius, with glimpses of the amphitheatre and Palestra in Pompei. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming and helpful. There is a nice restaurant in the hotel, and we had very good, reasonably priced pizzas there. All in all, thoroughly recommended

The hotel was excellently situated for the site of Pompeii but it is also close to both train stations which makes getting out and about really easy. The breakfast was amazing and always freshly prepared. The staff were only too happy to help with any request you had.

This is going to sound really picky and I should have mentioned it when we were there but, the floors were not swept daily, the shower door seal was broken and the tray for the kettle did not have a plug close enough to use it safely.

Beautiful location and hotel. The room was prefect, it was very clean we had a beautiful suite with a balcony that overlooked the ruins. Yes the scaffolding was still up but beauty is on the inside! The reception staff were very warming and very friendly. The manager was always at breakfast speaking to everyone making sure they were ok and asking about their day. We would highly recommend the restaurant and the Pompei snack bar next door.

There is nothing that we didn’t like

Friendly staff, some one always at the front desk for help. Location right at entrance of Pompeii ruins (there are multiple entrances) Easy short walk to the train station (Pompeii/Santuario station) to Herculaneum/Napoli. Lots of food options right outside and enjoyable to walk around in the evening. Great selection for breakfast. The view from the breakfast room on the 4th floor overlooking the ruins and Mt. Vesuvio was great.

I was traveling solo, so it was OK, but the room would be rather tight for two. Maybe pick a larger room for two people.
