Hotel Don Felipe made our stay in Ischia absolutely perfect! Everywhere you look it has the most beautiful views - it’s definitely worth upgrading to a sea view room so that you can enjoy them from your own balcony. The staff are all so lovely and can’t do enough for you - shout out to Alessandro who was super attentive and friendly. The pool is small but clean and a lovely temperature, and we never struggled to get a sunbed. Breakfast was great, really fresh and there was something a little bit different each morning. We loved the location, about a 15 minute walk from Ischia Ponte which has plenty of restaurants and bars but is much more peaceful and chilled out than the main port area. We will definitely be returning to Don Felipe on our next visit to Ischia!

Upon arriving, I was greeted by several members of the staff, and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Even Bomba, the resident cat, was chatty and welcoming. I booked a single room; it is small, and the furniture is not modern, however it was comfortable enough for my needs, and the balcony with the sea view made it spectacular to be in. The breakfast was very complete, there's an amazing sea view from most of the tables, and the food was fresh. Room and communal areas were very clean, including the swimming pool with scenic views of the sea and the Castelo Aragonese. There's a bus stop right in front of the hotel, but if you prefer to take taxis, they can swiftly arrange for you. It's easy to walk to several restaurants to and from the hotel, making it a very convenient and desirable location.

As I said, the furniture is a bit old, bur depending on the point of view, it adds character to the place. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee facilities in the bedroom.

The location of the hotel is exceptional - with beautiful sea views over to Sorrento and Capri. The hotel is not modern but is very charming and spotlessly clean. Every one of the staff were friendly and helpful - the receptionists, manager and housekeepers all gave exceptional customer service. The pool area was lovely - it was very peaceful and although it was small it was never crowded. The rooftop bar is amazing for lunch or pre-dinner drinks. There was a short walk into the town through vineyards and lemon groves.

There was just one minor thing which is regarding the breakfast. The variety was fine - fruit, cereals, croissants, scrambled juices etc but the bread was not what we expected. It was small sliced bread out of a packet. We brought our own towards the end of the stay as did other guests. I don't really wish to make a negative comment about this hotel but if the bread at breakfast could be changed to fresh crusty loaves that would be a vast improvement.

Really friendly and helpful staff with very good English. Breakfast had the usual sweet treats Italians enjoy along with fruit, boiled eggs, ham, cheese, scrambled eggs and bacon. Rooms were cleaned daily and had everything we needed including a safe. lt has a lovely view of the castle from the terrace, a great place to enjoy a drink before going to the port to eat. Staff advised us on local bus routes and where to purchase tickets and were able to arrange shuttles from the ferry for the same cost as a taxi.

Ischia is hilly and the hotel is built over several levels with a lot of steps up to reception. The staff will assist with cases if needed. Pool is small and there is limited loungers nearby but it is enough to cool off on hot day and if people dont try to claim a bed space all day is usually ok. Overall a great hotel, would definitely return.

We had a wonderful 3-night stay at Hotel Don Felipe. The property sits on the hillside overlooking the Gulf of Naples, Castello Aragonese, and Capri off in the distance. The views were amazing. It’s located in a very safe, quiet neighborhood. The hotel is easily accessible from Ischia Porto by bus or taxi and the hotel can quickly arrange a taxi for you at a moments notice. The shops and restaurants of Ischia Ponte, including the castle, are a quick 10-minute walk downhill. The room was comfortable, clean and charming. We stayed on the lowest level and had a nice terrace right above the pool. I don’t believe there is a “bad” room at the hotel. Service was exceptional - the staff were friendly and ready to help. We enjoyed drinks and snacks on from the hotel terrace bar and had a very nice, simple breakfast - with plenty of options, including every variety of Italian coffee you can think of - each morning in the breakfast room. This property is a terrific value! Unless you absolutely require 5-star amenities, you won’t be disappointed.

This was my second visit to this hotel but certainly not my last. The new owners at the hotel have understood the charm and the heart of this beautiful little gem and maintained the previous owners legacy. The views are outstanding, it is spotlessly clean but most importantly, all of the staff are exceptional and go out of their way to ensure you have the best experience possible. The new owners are very friendly and have made some improvements that enhanced my experience such as longer opening hours for food at the pool bar and more services offered at reception. This beautiful place has become more like a home from home for me and I cannot praise it highly enough.

The hotel and the premises are just beautiful. The rooms are designed very tasty (the drapes, the pattern of the tiles) and the view is amazing. The staff organized a few transports for us and everything went very smoothly. At some locations you get a discount (e.g. Giardino Eden) if you drop that you're staying in Hotel Don Felipe.

It's a bit of a walk to Ischia Ponte and an even longer walk to Ischia Porto where all the restaurants, bars and shops are. In the area of the hotel you'll find a few things but it's not very lively there. They do not have enough sun chairs close to the pool and not enough places in the shades/sun umbrellas. The AC in the rooms are not that strong. Most of the food at breakfast was always empty (Cornetto, Joghurt, scrambled eggs) and the staff was very slow in refilling them. Hotels around had a few parties and you could hear the sound of the music until the middle of the night due to the landscape.

The views were breathtaking and it was gorgeous sitting out in the little courtyard outside our room. We loved the location, views of the Castello and a short stroll to ischia ponte where there are lots of great restaurants. The restaurant/bar on the roof of the hotel was also lovely and beautiful panoramic views, with capri in the distance. Staff were super helpful with taxis to neighbouring areas and down to the port. Breakfast good too. Would definitely stay here again.

It wasn’t the cleanest when we first arrived. We did flag the bathroom in particular with a bit of mould and they did a good job of trying to get rid of most of it. Just a slight downside of an older property.

The view was amazing and the hotel’s swimming pool well used in the heat wave. The friendliness of the staff especially Alessandro, was outstanding. The bus stop right in front of the hotel made moving around quite easy.

Lovely Terrace with fabulous view, where they serve limited menu all day. Good breakfast. Bus outside door into Ischia Port. 10 minutes. Beautiful, friendly resident Cat. Great, helpful staff.

There are a lot of steps! Be aware. I chose a single room, which unfortunately had, as the name suggests, a Single bed. Bit of a struggle! Also, the Pillows are appalling and need throwing away. I wasn't the only one to mention them. Was like sleeping on a bag of Concrete.....not, that I've ever had the misfortune to do that...but you get the drift!
