The cleanness of the room. The soft matrasses. The comfortable chairs on the balcony. The food and drinks are fine. The kindness of all personal.

The smell of sigarets on the balcony. The loudness of the elevator. Room is to little to stay for a long period. Terrible coffee.

The hotel is located very conveniently - 10 minutes drive from the airport, close to the highway that takes around the island along the coastline. The place is rather quiet, no noisy tourist areas around. Feels super-safe and relaxed. The staff is outstandingly hospitable, willing to help and available 24/7. You definitely feel the high standards of the large international hotel network - RIU. I adore staying at RIU in London, and now RIU Madeira is the other go-to place for me, the hotel of the first choice on Madeira. The territory of the hotel is clean, well-kept, and feels very cosy. The room was very good too. Perfectly clean, spacious, with a nice terrace with ocean view. The beds are hard enough, just like I love it. The bathroom is super-spacious, with everything needed. The lobby area gives a feeling you're entering a palace. Also it's one of the few hotels on Madeira that offers "all inclusive". The majority of the hotels provide only breakfast or halfboard. The main restaurant is very spacious, with a nice terrace. The food was good, the staff helped with the drinks, continuously topping up water and wine. I also reserved a dinner at their a-la carte restaurant and it was a very pleasant experience. There's two pools outside, which I never used, but it looked good too. Also there's an inside pool, but it does not operate during the summer. The hotel stands on the very edge of the coastline. There's a beach nearby - Reis Magos, which isn't the most beautiful, but it's 3 minutes walk from the hotel, so I went there every day to swim in the ocean. Also if you're renting a car, the hotel has a huge parking space, always a free space, no matter what time you arrive. Every evening there's a show in the animation area with a bar. To sum up - I truly believe it was a brilliant choice. Highly recommend this hotel.

Not too much to mention, since the hotel has really high standard of service. Probably, it'd be great to have more healthy food in the buffet. I mean, the variety of dishes was great, it's just more about healthier options. Still, I was able to find suitable food every time.

Food generally was very good quality with excellent variety and range. Good seating in the restaurant. Good waiter service clearing plates and with drinks. Hotel was spacious and comfortable. Evening entertainment was varied but well produced and enjoyable. Local Madeiran dance group and Fado were excellent. Room was spacious and kept very clean.

Only minor issue was that no one could understand the continuity announcer during the evening entertainment. He tried vary hard but he could not use the microphone as he was too close. His strong accent and energetic approach did not help

I only stayed one night. Dinner and breakfast was served in the large dining area and had a wide variety of options, appealing and delicious. -- The staff went above and beyond to help with my last minute reservation. I had to wait for a short time and they provided me with temporary wi-fi access while I waited to check in. -- The location is beautiful, the pool and ocean are in competition for your attention. There is a boardwalk behind the property that invites strolling early in the morning or into the evening, offering views of the sky worth capturing in photos.

Food close to the pool was limited but that could have been because it was almost closing time when I went to grab a bite and dinner would start shortly.

Every element of the hotel was top class, the variety of food in the restaurant, which changed daily, meant we were never disappointed. All the staff were super helpful, attentive and friendly. There was a shuttle bus n and out of Funchal, and we never failed to get the time we wanted, however as it was April, I’m not sure that would be the case in the height of summer. There is so much to see and do in Madeira, very impressed on our first visit to this Island, it won’t be our last!

Great pools. Ocean views. Boardwalk to walk near the ocean (no sandy beach). Close, free parking available across the road or at the hotel for a fee. Large rooms with comfortable bed. Great variety at buffet and nice outside terrace.

No self-serve laundry available. No computers available on site. No airport shuttle (there is a shuttle for Funchal). Very few activities poolside and no nightlife.

The staff is extremely helpful, friendly, professional and polite. The food buffets are varied enough that we didn’t grow tired of the menu after a week. The pool area is relaxing, and though it can be crowded, it doesn’t feel crowded, as people are mostly lounging and relaxing (the grounds aren’t very expansive). Our room had plenty of space and it was wonderful to open the terrace door to get some fresh air right off the ocean.

The lifeguards, for whatever reason, all seem to have their personal cell phones while on duty… and they use them constantly! I’m not sure why this is allowed, but anytime you have kids playing in a pool, the lifeguards’ attention should be on people swimming. Period. Hopefully this is not a fatality waiting to happen, and if the hotel safety policy (if there is one) is OK with this, it is a serious flaw.

Comfortable hotel on beautiful location, right on the stoney beach (promenade). Big, comfortable room. Good restaurant ( lovely food options and lots of lovely fruits)and bars. Well staffed. Never queues for anything. Good leisure centre. Has shuttle bus to Funchal.

Could do with better entertainment. And some games tables (pool)
