Lovely room, very clean and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and had drinks in the lounge bar and the food was delicious and plentiful. The waitress/barmaid was absolutely wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. Our dog was warmly welcomed and was made a fuss of by everyone. We would certainly visit again soon.

Decaffeinated teabags would be a bonus. For a dog friendly hotel there didn’t seem to be anywhere to dispose of poo bags. These are just tiny niggles but wouldn’t stop us from returning often.

We stayed one night in a 3 person room and we loved the ambience and cheerful friendly nature of everyone. The 2 Hotel dogs are friendly & delightful! The room was simple but comfortable. There is a cosy bar/lounge area that looked great but we didn't have time for it unfortunately. Our room rate included brekky - so we enjoyed a made-to-order selection including hot English breakfast, Omelette, Eggs Benedict and more. There was also a variety of cereals, toast +spreads, waffles & maple syrup, yoghurt, juices, tea and very good coffee! The location is perfect for visiting Stonehenge.

There wasn't anything we didn't like

The staff were great, the grounds were nice, the breakfast was delicious and the hotel dogs were lovely.

The floors needed some TLC in our room. There was a miscommunication/misunderstanding between myself - booking.com - the hotel, about the amount of beds needed. I thought it was a double room (2 beds) and asked if it was possible to get an extra bed (3 beds total) for myself, my wife, my 21yo daughter and my 8yo daughter. Somehow, the hotel was only aware of 3 of the 4 of us staying, and our room initially only had 2 beds (1 large and 1 twin). The staff were able to squeeze another twin mattress into the room, but there was hardly any space left after that. Somewhere, somehow, there was a breakdown in communication, but we got it sorted. The staff were excellent and very accommodating. They really tried their best to help us.

Excellent customer service, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our dog came with us and she was treated with such love and care - this truly is one of the best pet friendly hotels we have ever stayed at. Conveniently close to the A303, with plenty of parking and facilities for electric vehicles to charge,

The extended areas away from the hotel and gardens still need some attention and tidying up. However, this didn't affect our stay, but stopped me gifting 10/10.

The venue is beautifully layed out, would be lovely for a wedding, the staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean with plenty of room, breakfast was beautiful large portion and continental if we wanted more.

My only issue was there was a fair bit of dog hair in communal areas but there are two very large dogs who live here, we didn't see them, overall it was a nice, comfortable stay and good value for the money.

Perfect for stop off night on our travels back home from North Devon, staff welcoming and helpful, dog friendly, fantastic breakfast with all dietary options available. Bath and shower options in the room which was great as we both prefer diffrent options.

I enjoyed our stay but if your not a pet lover it may not be for you as the owner has 2 large dogs that wonder around often, very friendly dogs but if you not pet lover this may not be the place for you but defently ideal if you are a pet owner and your animal our good with dogs or love of Animals.

The lady on reception was very welcoming, gave us lots of information upon arrival! The room was comfortable and had everything we needed, I had a meal in the evening sat in the sun, which was nice. Breakfast was buffet style help yourself with plenty of choice cooked or continental! We would stay again next time we are in that neck of the woods!

Not The Hotels Fault!! Satnav takes to off the wrong exit but that's driver error! Others might find useful!

Taking into account the price I paid, I liked it The owners and staff were very friendly, my room was perfectly fine and clean although a little bare, my evening meal was fine, my breakfast was great. OK it’s not the Ritz but it’s a very reasonably priced, friendly, dog friendly (I think but do check), clean hotel very well situated just off the A303.

Excellent location close to the A303, but also quiet. Good breakfast. Super fast internet. Good choice of curries in restaurant and ample parking.

Quirky but dated furniture. Other guests mentioned the dogs, I only saw them once and they were no problem.

Relaxed family atmosphere including large free range dogs. Quirky style accommodation with extremely friendly and engaging staff. Excellent location for the major world important antiquity sites.

It’s definitely not 5 star rating - but the relaxed nature and setting of the place with ample parking compensates the rather tired and dated furniture and furnishings.
