beautiful location/view. Helpful staff. Comfortable large beds. Excellent a la carte restaurant within. 10 min drive from airport, very close by Funchal as well. Overall, good value for money. We have expected airplanes approaching landing would make noise, but they were far enough so no issue. Great swimming pools, lots of space on the decks, and direct access to the sea with rescue personnel is nice.

Room cleanness could be a it better. Some hair of previous guests on the floor. Bathroom is quite worn. Bed was clean and nice though. Parking of hotel turns out to be at extra cost. In the end we got lucky it was weekend and the regular street parking was for free. Staff helped with this tip. Coffee in the buffet restaurant where breakfast was served, is instant coffee, quite low quality, sadly. Same for juices, diluted syrup style. Direct neighbor was very loud on their balcony. Not the hotel's fault really, but the rooms, though look isolated due to the wall between the balconies, in fact are not. Direct entrance with unlocked main door and no receptionist in the Cais part means anyone can in principle walk into the hotel, no questions asked. A bit strange. But we had no issue.

almost non-working stove in the kitchen, the room needs redecoration. Unpleasant neighbors are small ants and cockroaches in the bathroom.

We booked our holiday in this hotel the week before our arrival, since our original plans were cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. We couldn't be any happier or more grateful for our time here. We got a room upgrade, we initially booked a studio, but stayed in an amazing 1 bedroom flat with 2 bathrooms and the most amazing views. When I entered that room I felt like crying, it was a beautiful paradise with the Atlantic ocean right in front of us. The place is fully supplied with everything possibly needed in the kitchen, the beds were very comfortable, the pillows not so much, but we slept quite well. The pools are very nice, the indoor, heated pool is big and warm, and they offer free of charge a sauna and Turkish steam room. We didn't use the access to the beach because we preferred the nearby beach due to the waves and the cold of the Atlantic, but it seemed great and accessible. Breakfast was nice and varied, and the terrace where breakfast is served was stunning. All the staff are helpful and kind, especially the maids. We didn't have much trouble parking, but it's January - February. Although the one time we couldn't find a spot, we just left the car in the free parking lot next to the beach, just a 10m walk. Great gym with lots of machines.

The gym is private, although free of charge, and it seems like the staff is not quite happy with hotel guests. They were not that welcoming when the first day I went to ask for the classes schedule, and the last day we used it, the person at the reception was quite rude. We chose this hotel for many reasons, but one important thing for us, since we are training for a big event, was the availability of the gym. We felt a bit bad since it was the only negative thing from a really amazing holiday

The staff is super friendly from receptionist to cleaning staff as well restaurant staff. The rooms were nice by the pool it had kitchen facilities as expected and everything was fine. Superb was the surprise provided to my mother as it has her birthday, and it was a nice touch. The views from the hotel are good, aggressive landscapes and ocean views. Access to lower parts of the cliff it’s a nice walk as well, Plenty of spaces to relax, chairs balconies and lots of Loungers. Breakfast was good, good variety to choose and fast service, plenty of space. The hotel was calm and without noisy people i know it’s an external factor, but it has a huge impact on enjoying the place, I’ve also liked the interior pool always free to use anytime.

I didn’t like the shower in the room as the water goes through the glass panel out to the WC floor and we could see the damage already sustained by the door by previous guests, I’ve made a small tissue wall to prevent it but its required something else. Due being easter the pool was closed because nobody was going to clean the foliage/leaves. The lack of a toaster in the morning breakfast is rare but not a problem. An external factor was the wind in the restaurant side, that was always there unabling to eat outside.

We loved our room with a view on the ocean, also the breakfast terrace was amazing with 180 degrees view on the ocean. We enjoyed spa and pools a lot.

Please book your parking as soon as you arrive, since the space is limited, we were lucky to get one. The lunch and dinner buffet options were not as big as a breakfast one.

The hotel overall as well as the room itself was very welcoming. Our room had a little kitchenette with everything we needed. The room had modern furniture and was of good size. The A/C was working very well. It is located right at the cliff and offers fun areas to explore. The hotel itself offers restaurants and there are some good food options in the area.

This is part of a larger hotel complex and walking distances to the front desk and amenities are quite far. Quite small pools and ocean access is only via the neighboring facilities. Not enough parking options for such a big hotel.

i did not mind but my parents did: there's a lot of stairs to walk and the access to the ocean is not easy for older people

We stayed in the Royal.Orchid. we were very kindly upgraded as it was our 10th anniversary. Also when we came back from a day out a bottle of bubbly and a card was left in our room! So kind. We.loved.the hotel the area and Madeira as an island. We will return ☺️
