I loved the fact that you were welcomed by a team of staff and given a goodie bag. I appreciated the fact that the foyer had been decorated for the Ed Sheeran concert it made things very exciting. I liked the fact that there was decaffeinated tea and coffee in the room(not many hotels think of this and usually put all caffeine choices). I really appreciated this as I am not allowed caffeine for health reasons. I liked the fact that you were not skimpy with the amount of towels-we had a towel bundle each and there was a set in the bathroom. I have stayed at a number of hotels where they only let you have one bath towel and 1 hand towel per room. I did not have time to use the facilities such as the swimming pool. It was wonderful that they accepted booking in at 2pm instead of 3 without any extra cost. I appreciated the fact that the staff had information about how to get a bus from the park and ride and could direct us. A full map was also in a letter which we were given -this was so good. The outside of the hotel at night looked beautiful.
because the bathroom door opened inwards instead of outwards it was a squeeze to get out of the bathroom. The distance between the end of the toilet to the open door was very small. It was easy enough to get in but not to get out.you had to do a funny manoeuvre.

Loved how all the staff were so nice!! Very helpful indeed. Breakfast was super! Layout was also good if a little mesmerising with corridors all looking the same. The decor - especially the art on the walls of Ipswich Town - was pleasing.
I was cross to find that the outer doors to the hallway by my room were propped open. Anyone could have walked in or about the hallways who was not a guest, so the security of the hotel was compromised. I drink Earl Grey tea so I should have asked for it in my room really rather than expect it to be there. The changing rooms needed a spruce up. The sauna and steam were marvellous and the pool clean and just the right temperature. I like how there was a swim lane marked. I think the windows of the pool could be enhanced by a half mural/etching up halfway. This then screens it from the dining area better.

We've stayed here a few times before, but this time the hotel was full, so you'd expect a bit more stress. But, there was none. Reception was friendly, helpful and generally flawless. We had a problem with the air con (user error, it turns out) and this was resolved promptly and courteously (how she refrained from pointing out that it was user error is beyond me). The room was spotless, cool and generally quiet. I'd probably avoid room 119 in the future though as it's next to the main stairs - though actually that wasn't a problem on this occasion.
I'd phoned ahead and asked for a couple of things, but this didn't work at all and that call was basically a waste of time. Shame. The bar was a complete shambles due to a software issue - but there is a massive Tesco nearby, so we popped round there and bought drinks and snacks for a fraction of the price.

Check in very good (we arrived about 9pm) and loads of parking with easy access to major road network. Room was comfy enough for the one night we stayed. The bar and breakfast areas were very comfortable. Breakfast itself was very good with a wide choice of hot and cold items and they will make some things, like omelettes or poached eggs fresh to order. We didn't use the restaurant in the evening but from what we say, it looked pretty decent. Overall, a good experience and a good choice - we were travelling back to Scotland from the Harwich ferry and would definitely consider staying again.
Pretty small shower room/toilet but not a problem really. WiFi wasn't good but worked.

Staff were really friendly on arrival, The room was a nice size, the bed was on the firmer side, which I loved was comfortable for me . I had a really good night sleep , the shower was hot water pressure excellent, towels were a good size , tv was not too bright, we borrowed some cutlery so we could eat in the room no problem , good size desk,/ dressing table and a full length mirror good storage space. It is also good to know that you could get a toothbrush, toothpaste, razors, sanitary towels, make-up pads at reception if needed , and a really good checkout time !

The staff were very and accommodating and room very clean ,, it was lovely that I could go for a swim too
Restaurant, I ordered a steak but I couldn't even cut it ,, I did tell the staff and was very helpful I didn't want another meal ,but asked for a dessert , I waited for half hour and it never came so I didn't bother ,, then the next night I looked at the menu and asked for fish and chips ,, then was told they are running the menu down for a new menu in March,, so was limited ,, once again I did say you should have a message on a notice board about it ,, they did apologise and didn't charge me when I paid my bill when I left ,,

Breakfast was good although the layout could have been better as everyone seemed to be in the way of getting to items. We were pleased food was available until 10pm though as we came back from an event late and needed to eat before bed. Also the children's free ice cream and toys were a winner with our 5 Noceyear old. Pool was good and fab 12pm checkout meant we could get a swim in before leaving.
The room decor was a bit dated, wall paper was peeling and TV was old and broken. Could definitely do with a refresh.

Very happy with our Holiday In experience in Ipswich!!! We required a spontaneous on the night check-in for 2 nights as we found a prebooked apartment in a filthy state. The reception lady called Alex was brilliant and sorted out 2 rooms that were interconnecting so we could stay with our 2 young children in the adjoining room. She went out of her way to move rooms around to accommodate my request for interconnecting rooms. Just top notch service and friendliness from the staff. A massive relief for us after the trauma of having to leave other accommodation.
Service for food took longer than average, probably as there was a Christmas party happening.

Convenient location. Comfortable room. Nice breakfast. Pleasant bar lounge area.
Only one person on the desk in the evening combined with a clunky check-in IT system led to delays and a long check-in queue. How about better integrating Holiday Inn's checking system with Booking.com reservations? The room smelt a bit musky (not well aired). Would be nice if the breakfast period could be extended to 11:00 [ because the location is convenient for parkrunners who would eat after their parkrun at either Ipswich or Alton Water].

Staff were faultless and couldn't be more hospitable to my six year old daughter if they tried. All the staff from reception, poolside and catering were brilliant. The room had an additional aircon unit and a fan. The food was of a very high standard as well as being a great price. Plenty of parking and great for families.
The bathroom was quite tight and a little dated, showing plenty of previous repairs but otherwise functional. Shower in communal swimming area not working
