Fantastic hotel. Beautiful location. Spacious property in general, and room in particular. Shower was superb with brilliant water pressure. Two king size beds were perfect. Staff were outstanding in every area, friendly, polite and very responsive. Breakfast was excellent. Lots of seating areas around the hotel. Sports Bar food was good value for money and being able to have it served in the quieter adjacent bar area was brilliant. Two bottles of water refreshed every day.

Very little. Had a couple of housekeeping issues, but the response was immediate and excellent. Fridge not standard in the room but can be requested. Towels are getting a bit thin and probably need replacing.

In a calm location away from all the busy and noisy high street. The timings for swimming are better than other hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful

TV is a big disappointment. Last year I was able to connect wirelessly to the TV via mobile or laptop. This time neither by screen mirroring via iPhone or Mac or DEX Samsung or even downloading a mirroring app. Seems like a HDMI cable is required but this is not mentioned anywhere or even indicated during the booking process. We had to watch on the laptop. Not being able to use Netflix etc is a big let down specially for those who are there to relax and not go out and about.

- As a few other reviews have mentioned, the room was unbearably hot at night. We used the fan provided, but even in April, found it impossible to sleep due to the heat

Staff were really friendly and helpful throughout. The hotel was nicely decorated with the Christmas decorations still being up (nutcrackers in the revolving entrance doors and trees aligning the corridor to the bedrooms with a sleigh which guests could sit inside and have photos). The rooms were clean and equipped with tea and coffee facilities as well as a bath/shower. We had booked two rooms and requested they were close together. This was met and our rooms were next to each other. The overnight stay included breakfast the following morning where you sit in the room overlooking the lake - great view. We had walked around the grounds (golf course, fishing lake etc) during the day and it was lovely. Many breakfast options available and you just help yourself - cereals, pastries, hot food (eggs, bacon, mushrooms, sausages, tomatoes, hash browns), toast and jam/marmalade station, hot drinks, water and juices, yogurt and fruit. There are many cosy communal areas where you can sit and chat or read a book. We had a sharing platter for lunch in the bar area which was tasty and had plenty of variety. There was the option to book in the restaurant for dinner too. Spa facilities downstairs were great as well. Booked our two slot and used the hot tub, sauna, steam room and pool with the occasional rest on the lounger chairs. Towels and lockers provided along with showers and a machine to dry your swimwear in the changing rooms. Robes are also provided but have to be returned on exit from spa. There was a cafe within the spa facilities, plenty of free water stations to hydrate and also beauty treatments available but these involved an extra fee.

Nothing. Service and facilities were really impressive. Was quite busy so had two hour slots for the spa facilities which went quicker than we thought so would have liked slightly longer but the entire weekend was such great value for money, this is only a small thing.

Staff were the best I’ve ever experienced in a hotel. From start to finish they couldn’t do enough for you. View from hotel over course and lake were beautiful. Room was good size. Spa treatments were amazing and breakfast delightful

Although the hotel is having some refurbishment, it still feels very dated in some parts and although our room was very clean and newly decorated, it was let down by old ripped and dirty bed bases which were visible as soon as you entered room. Surround of light switch also fell off! I wouldn’t say the spa facilities (sauna, steam room)were the best.

Gorgeous grounds and views. Rooms very comfortable and clean - superb. Generally fantastic team. Gym and spa are all fantastic. Good breakfast. Excellent hot water pressure.

Minor bewares only: - WiFi in rooms is unusable for anything more than writing emails. - EV charging does not work: no app and no badge start available. - Surprisingly restaurant and bar food sadly both rather disappointing, including improperly defrosted chocolate brownie. Music throughout breakfast areas is repeatedly way too loud until flagged.

Great location. Staff very obliging and cheerful. Food was very good. Plenty of good quality comfortable chairs in the Bar area, as well as other quieter areas of the hotel. A bonus if one is reading! The Head Waiter was outstanding, and the Dining Room very well organised and running like clockwork when he was present. Everywhere particularly clean & tidy. The room we were in was well equipped and well maintained.

The mattress in our room was dreadful! Although it had a thin topper on, if we go again I would ask for at least two more toppers, because as it was it was like sleeping on concrete!

Golf course looked good. Didn’t play it mind you. The European waiter in the restaurant was an absolute delight. Sauna and steam rooms were good. Food all round good, nothing to complain about.

Had to go 3-4 plates down before finding a clean one at the breakfast. Nearly all of them had a speck or two of dirt on. Whilst I understand the heat of the dishwasher alone is enough to kill any germs, it’s not nice seeing anything on your plate. The tv reception in room 303 was poor, kept jittering about, was ok for first 5 mins or so then struggled (for if you go to check it). Spa- we had access to free water by the pool. Was surprised that no one came to offer drinks from the bar at any time. The 4 hours total we spent there we saw one group get offered drinks and they were behind the curtains so presumably were on a different package to us. I’m more than happy to pay for a drink, I’d just like one while chilling in the spar!

It was very clean. Loved the decor and colour choices of our room. Very comfortable bed. Felt it was worth the price. Other areas were also clean. Barman in the Sports Bar was especially helpful and welcoming. All restaurants were great. Good value for money. Food was fresh. Great breakfast selection. Chef was friendly. Reception was clean and smelt lovely with diffusers.

Exterior of building was a little tatty in places.

Staff were very friendly, bar had a good atmosphere, the breakfast and views over the greens was excellent. Good size room, very quiet. Comfortable beds and had a variety of hot drinks with biscuits in your room. Pool and area was very warm. Jacuzzi was nice. The treatment - facial and massage was very good. Other spa guests were enjoying a lovely afternoon tea.

Problem with plumbing- water not draining away normally in room. We only stayed one night so not a real problem as we showered in the spa. They were having some building works done. Couldn’t provide the spa robe and slippers - problem with laundry but they did inform us of this prior. Steam room too hot. Needs more lighting. in the cubicles in the changing room.
