The free breakfast had so many choices - you could have more asian style or more western style. The restaurant is absolutely wonderful and delicious. There was live music and the band was very good. They took requests. Pool was small but cool that some rooms could walk straight out into the pool. Very relaxing. Room was PERFECT. Had a cute balcony, AC was strong, and the space was so clean. Bathroom was beautiful and I loved the setup. Bathroom is not air conditioned so FYI. If you're getting your scuba cert, this place is super convenient because all the scuba things are on-site.

You could hear the kitchen cleaning up pretty late at night (~11pm). The road is quite loud too.

We had a wonderful stay here - the location was incredible, right on the beach with amazing views. Having the dive centre on site was very convenient and the staff were amazing, particularly in helping to arrange our snorkling/diving, as well as an early breakfast. The restaurant was fantastic, with some of the best Indonesian food we had during our stay. The live music in the evenings was also brilliant, and ear plugs were provided to help with the noise in the evenings (which was definitely needed!). It wasn't a super fancy place, but was great value for what we got and absolutely exceeded our expectations! It ended up being one of our favourite places that we stayed at, and would definitely recommend to others and stay here again if we return.

Stunning boutique hotel. We had a swim up room and the pool and room were just gorgeous. The hotel was just beautiful- felt like we were in an outdoor greenhouse. Live music and twinkly lights in the evening- we ate there every night. Cocktails were incredible also. We had initially booked for my husband to dive with them but sadly due to a medicall condition he wasn’t able to dive during our stay. Not much around or much to do with a baby and we just chilled at the hotel for the two days we were there.

Nothing- but area around in penida is a bit weird. Not much going on. Beach very dirty.

Loved watching the sunset there every day — such a beautiful spot, and the staff are lovely and friendly.

(1) The live music can get extremely loud at night, which isn’t ideal when you’re just trying to sleep or relax in your room. (2) The room cleanliness also needs more attention — even after changing, the pillow covers still had stains, which was disappointing. (3) Got bombarded with confirmation messages every day, even though we’d already confirmed via WhatsApp ages ago. When we followed up, the staff said their system was hacked — but the messages kept coming almost daily before the trip. 😓

Fantastic stay at Mambo Beach Resort, in a great spot on the beach and about 10 mins from the harbour. Staff were friendly and helpful without being "in your face" and collected us from and returned us to the harbour with our luggage which was a great extra that we hadn't expected. Welcome pack was cute and included lots of nice products including earplugs - see comment below re noise. Breakfast was included and lovely - so many choices and massive portions. We also ate one evening in the open air restaurant which was also really nice. Rooms were clean and overlooked the pool and beach. This was fantastic in the evening as it was so hot that we sat in the pool and listened to the nightly live music. There was cocktail happy hour 4-6 which we took advantage of.

A minor point in the grand scheme of things : Some road noise as backs onto the "main" road, and also cockerels making their noise at all hours (out of the hotels control). Earplugs included in the hotel welcome pack came in handy.

I participated in the snorkeling tour organized by Mambo Beach Resort, (diving tours are also available) and it was an unforgettable experience! The tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly, ensuring that everyone felt comfortable and safe in the water. We explored vibrant coral reefs teeming with colorful fish and even had the chance to swim alongside Manta Rays, which was truly magical. The equipment provided was in great condition, and the locations chosen for snorkeling were stunning. Overall, it was a fantastic way to experience the underwater beauty of the area, and I highly recommend it to anyone staying at the resort!

Location, restaurant and facilities were superb! Also the hotel offer a free collection from the port which was super handy. It is absolute beachfront which makes for stunning meal times. The restaurant was a major highlight. We also joined a snorkelling trip from right in front of the hotel which was awesome. It was overall an excellent hotel and we loved it. Very easy to rent scooters out the front and the daytime staff were very helpful.

Unfortunately when we checked in the sheets in our room were dirty. It was evening and when we went to ask the receptionist she was very rude and unhelpful. Luckily, someone else overheard and called housekeeping who came in after hours and changed our sheets for us and were super kind and apologetic. So thank you to the housekeeping!! Very grateful to you.

We loved so many things about this place (the garden, the staff, the views, etc). Particularly we appreciated the free shuttle from the harbour - this was our first stop in Bali so after a very long flight and boat ride, it was very nice to not have to worry about how to get to the hotel. We also enjoyed the complementary goody bag with the very useful insect repellent.

We liked everything there. Not the fault of the hotel but the overall island seems to have a waste management issue. It would be great if the private sector (hotels) would unite forces with local authorities to get this under control (eg. Recycling of plastic bottles). The nature there is sooo beautiful - it would be a shame to have this little island covered in plastic!

Rooms are beautiful and very spacious. There are usb chargers on each side of the bed which is great for charging phones, etc. The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom is a great size. Shower was nice and had both a handheld shower and a rain head. Hair dryer is awesome and the swim up pool is really refreshing. Location is great and they offer a free shuttle to pick you up from the port and take you back. There is fresh mineral water in the rooms which you can refill from a water cooler at the dive office. Staff is very helpful. The decor and landscaping is beautiful with a clear roof which gives you the feeling of being outdoors while still being protected from any rain that might come.

Pillows were a bit too firm for our tastes and the coffee that is included with the breakfast is instant coffee and not that great. You can get a latte or other options for an additional fee. Live music was great and normally ended at around 9:30 each night. If you wanted to go to bed earlier or had small children that might be an issue for you.

We stayed for 5 nights at Mambo Beach Resort and can absolutely recommend the hotel & restaurant, but for sure NOT the dive school. The rooms were spacious and clean. We’d recommend the rooms on the upper floor since the rooms downstairs are facing the restaurant allowing other guests to have a view straight to the bedroom. The balcony light is switched on for the whole night without any possibility to turn it off. It’s not just annoying since you can only sleep with curtains fully closed but also a waste of electricity The food in the restaurant was delicious. We mostly ate there as there aren’t a lot of alternative restaurants nearby. Most nights they also offer live music which is great. It would be nice though to start the music earlier and also end earlier. If you’re staying at the resort, it’s one or the other day also nice if you can enjoy some silence on the balcony (or go to sleep earlier).

We initially planned to dive with Mambo, but ultimately went to a different dive school due to their horrific prices. For 3 dives per day with a private guide they wanted to charge us $ 350 per person!! Considering this price, even though we told them we wanted to dive for 4 days, would mean we would’ve needed to pay $ 1,400 per person for 12 dives!!! What a rip off! 💸💸💸 Ultimately, we found a dive school with way better facilities, equipment and organization and paid for the same service $ 550 per person.
