I was in room 118. The fan that goes on with the bathroom light, needs to be fixed. It is too loud and because of that defective. I had ESPN on the whole time. In fact I hardly left the room the first two days. I don't have TV myself so I saw some 4 good basketball games I would have had to go to a bar to see. It was nice. I wish I had realized in time that there was a sauna. Of course I would have had to wait for an hour probably for it to heat up my last morning as I had the time. Next time! It was a nice feeling to have the end room. The breakfast was a nice variety.

Family owned and operated. Owners are experieced in the motel business and are not taking voucher guests. This is important as many motels are, and it creates issues. I've witnessed situations where those without sufficient means invite other unhoused to use the room, shower or laundry facilities. They are not entitled to use the facility and wander in without checking in at the front desk. Its just sketchy and makes concern for the safety and security of the property in question. Helping homeless people is a very complex issue for american cities today. However, managing homelessness by using city and federal funds to pay for hotel rooms is expensive and is entirely unfair to the paying clients who deserve to be with other like privately paying guests. IMHO.

The room was very clean! The bed was comfortable enough. I very much appreciated the ability to open the windows on the second floor. It was very quiet even though the freeway was very close by - it got quiet at night. The location suited me very well being close to whole foods, gas stations, and restaurants. It was also only a 10 minute drive to a park that was a forest which was a highlight of my stay. Over all, I would recommend this inn.
The only reason I didn't give this inn a 10 out of 10 rating is because the laundry (sheets, pillow cases, blankets and towels) all smelled of laundry products - dryer sheets or laundry soap or scented add ins. I find these to be offensive to my nose even though a lot of people like them, I do not. Big name hotels never scent their laundry and there is a reason why. Having the window open helped but I still didn't like the smell. It might hinder me staying here in the future. I would really like to stay here again but am not sure if I want to sign up for the scented laundry again. Otherwise this inn was the best!

The staff were friendly and even asked if I preferred a ground floor or upper floor room. The room itself was a good size, clean, and the bed was comfortable. It’s a bit older but well kept. Breakfast was continental style, with some nice extras like hard-boiled eggs and Greek yogurt. Overall, a solid value for the price.
The shower in my room made a bit of a strange noise when I turned it on, but it wasn’t really bothersome so I left it be (I was only staying one night anyway). Just something to keep in mind—it’s an older place, so facilities may show some signs of aging.

The Coachman Inn in Bellingham is the cleanest budget motel I have ever stayed in. I thought perhaps it had just been remodeled, but I discovered that the owner is a man on a mission - constantly improving everything. The pool looks like an ad for pool cleaning products. At this price point, its unusual to have breakfast included, but it was and it was pretty decent. All those 5* reviews are exactly right!
Nothing to dislike. My only comment is that while it looks new the property is old, as evidenced by the somewhat sagging floors in the hall.

Great location for visiting WWU, everything was very clean and comfortable. We had a fridge in our room and a microwave available on our floor. The hotel is near several restaurants and coffee shops. We didn’t see EV charging on site but there are fast chargers at the nearby grocery store and REI. We’ve stayed at all the hotels in this area near this price point and this is by for the best value for money! Front desk staff was very helpful and we enjoyed coffee and breakfast in the morning.

I liked the owners, brothers Harry and Mohinder. Mohinder personally checks every room after it is cleaned. He called me beforehand to confirm my reservation. I liked this personal touch. The rooms were very clean. The property has a pool, gym, and spa. I got there easily by public transportation. It is a 20 minute walk into downtown. Normally, I am dubious about such inexpensive hotels. However, this did not feel or look like one. The price was fantastic! I highly recommend the Coachman Inn!

While the amenities are basic, all parts of the property are *extremely* clean. Staff is super friendly. Breakfast included several types of cereal, yogurts, bagels, breads, and hard boiled eggs. They get an extra thumbs up from me for having soy and almond milk in addition to cream, whole milk, and low fat.
The bed was extra firm and the heating unit in my room was loud, but not enough to prevent me from sleeping. However, if you’re a light sleeper, consider earplugs.
