Cozy and wonderful retreat that felt like home as soon as you arrived. The pool was blissful and the environment lovely and peaceful. Staff were outstanding, especially Rubaini, but also Lin, and the food sublime. Would recommend without hesitation - quite wonderful. Also fabulous that you could borrow old bycicles to meander around the village and see the local environment at a gentle pace. The local beach 5 minutes walk away is stunning (but you can'tswim due to crocs)!. They also do an 8 course Borneo local degustation menu which was exquisite although somewhat expensive.
All fabulous apart from the fact it was difficult to get the mosquito net to fit around the 4 poster bed but it wasn't a problem as there didn't seem to be any in the room anyway!

Super nice staff who ensured we had everything needed for our stay. Lovely accommodation with pool and it was a great place to relax. The design is so nice and peaceful.
Food was a little disappointing and expensive. There are however a couple of restaurants in the village which do quite nice food. It would have been nice to have fruit available for breakfast or even fruit juice. A fridge in the room and the ability to make tea/coffee would also be good.

The Village House is by far the best option to stay in the Sarawak Kuching area. The village House offers roomy comfortable rooms and beds, super friendly staff who will do anything to satisfy your needs, quality breakfasts, lunches and dinners. The pool is clean and a drawcard for the guests to relax, swim and lounge. The village house also offers tours to see the beauty of Sarawak, such as rare protected animals, caves, and natural parks. We were very happy, Josje and Flip New Zealand
We would welcome a variety of vegetarian dishes, such as lentil soups, salad dishes and more.

Lovely stay, the staff was very thoughtful and took care of us. Very restful and comfortable near the pool. Very agreable quiet place, quite green. Food was nice and freshly prepared. The village nearby is close with groceries shop, people helpful, a very nice local restaurant close. We went through 2 excursions with the hotel , which were quite pleasant ( Bako NP and Satang Island with snorkeling). For Satang Island, the hotel has changed of company , so that maybe explains why previous comments are differents than our experience . The sea is nearby with beautiful sunset.
The hotel menu was not varied, but we could compensate with the restaurant in the village There was crocodiles in the sea close by, so no diving allowed.

The room is clean and comfy. A place of peace and quiet, a place to relax and unwind. The management and staffs are very helpful and friendly. Really appreciate their understanding and kindness. The breakfast is good, around the pool area with the beautiful frangipani tree and plants. Just beautiful. This is a memorable stay, thank you so much.
Sorry to say, there is no water boiler in the room. Maybe the management can have rooms at ground level and not the sharing type of rooms to enable elderlies who are not able to climb the stairs up to the upstairs room. Just a suggestion.

swimming pool is amazing, breakfast really rich and delicious, staff available, kind, and friendly (they helped me a lot) and the atmospheer very relaxing, they gave me a bike for free tovisit the village (and a map with info). i highly recommend!! there is even a leg massage chair for free! Only disappointing point for me qas to find out that I couldn't swim at te beaxch nearby because of crocodiles. I should have checked better! Thanfully they told me! But not far form there there is another beach (10 min by car) where you can swim.
wifi didnt work when I went.

It was a very unique accommodation with basic facilities. Thank whole area is very clean as the staff kept it clean all the time. We were expected to take off our shoes/sandals/slippers at selected places within the resort. You can rest assured that the pool is very clean as the gardener or uncle keeps it clean every single morning. Not only he cleans the pool but the surrounding area too. If you like a quiet place for rejuvenating and don't mind the weather, this is a good place to be for few days.
You can't escape the heat anywhere within the resort especially in the afternoon. Not even the room with full blast of a/c.. It only cools down from the evening onwards. There are insects and ants all around the resort as there are trees and plants surrounding the area. They are absolutely nothing to look forward to out of the resort (the Santubong village is a very serene place). You can't find food around the area too in the afternoon. You can't walk onto the beach or swim in it as it's full of stones and pebbles. But the sunset is beautiful. There is no cup or coffee/tea facility in the room. I paid quite a high price for it and the system kept saying it's fully booked when there was no one else staying there!

The hotel is a beautiful little quiet oasis with a very friendly and helpful staff who made our stay so easy and comfortable. The area around is beautiful and for adventurous travelers it is the perfect place to stay as the hotel helps arrange all kinds of activities for you like a trip to bako national park or the orangutang nature reserve. It was perfect in December as the hotel was quiet and the weather was nice.
The food was good but it would have been nice to have some more options in between breakfast and dinner. There is not much around the hotel to go else where to eat without a car.

The Hotel is great! It has a very calm and relaxing atmosphere. I was very surprised about how lovely the place was decorated. Itˋs a perfect place to slow down and relax for a few days including the possibility to go to one of the national parks close by. It was really quiet at Night and also during the day by the Pool. The staff is really friendly and breakfast is good.
Dinner sadly was quite expensive but didnˋt seem very fresh. But you donˋt have to eat at the Hotel!

We loved our stay at the Village house. The house was full of character and perfect to relax in the pool or lounge areas after the outdoor activities around Sarawak. Laurence and the team helped organise our activities including Bako(~40min cab) and Semmenggoh (~1hr cab) and gave plenty of great local tips. The Food on site was great with a good range of local dishes. We would definitely recommend staying hear if you want to explore Sarawak and don’t want to stay in Kuching. We hope to revisit one day!
