This was one of the best stays of our entire holiday. From the moment we arrived at Thanh Lich Royal Boutique Hotel, we felt like royalty. (Be careful not to confuse it with Thanh Lich Hotel, which is located in the busy city center.) We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade for our family—such a lovely bonus. The Royal Boutique is about a 10–20 minute walk from Walking Street, making it a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle. Our room and bathroom were absolutely spotless. While the ceiling was a little low, it was still comfortable for my 6'2" husband. Our kids loved the pool, and the breakfast buffet offered a nice variety of dishes to suit all tastes. The staff were always smiling, friendly, and genuinely helpful. Every question or request was met with warmth and efficiency. On departure, we were even given a thoughtful gift—which made the experience all the more memorable. This hotel will always hold a special place in my heart, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Hue.

The toilet was right next to the door so you had to make sure you locked the door otherwise someone could open the door onto your knees Like any hotel you stay at in Vietnam, the soundproofing isn't fantastic but I always carry earplugs with me wherever I go so it wasn't an issue for me and my family.

Absolutely loved it here! The service was incredible they were so helpful, friendly and welcoming. Especially Quynh, Thu and Huong! The facilities were exceptional and couldn’t fault them in anyway. We made full use of the gym, pool and sauna and were very happy with these. The breakfast was also great with a huge variation to choose from. We have very high standards for cleanliness and these were not only met but exceeded. Definitely recommended this place and we will definitely be back.

We loved everything, the only thing which could improve is that the tv is slightly outdated but that’s very minor

Our room (1005) is huge with floor to ceiling windows on 2 full sides. Big views and lots of space. Staff provided a book of tour options, easy to book through them. Breakfast is included, and had a reasonable selection of foods choices, served on the 12th floor. This area was often stuffy with Air Con being turned on late and relying on open windows (to the already high outdoor temperatures). The pool was good for a short dip, but inside and salty (personally, not my favourite). Good location and very easy to get to and from walking or cyclo or Grab.

Great location on one of the less touristy walking streets. Staff were helpful, organizing tours and transfers for us. Great restaurant with views over the city towards the mountains. Reasonable food choices for breakfast but some unusual choices at dinner - bread roll offered with meal, but only served with jam, no butter. Good pool area and massages were great. We stayed in the royal Suite which was awesomely over-the-top.

Room faced the street and the west, so was very hot in the afternoon. Needed to keep the curtains shut all the time. A bit of a walk from the Ancient city and main walking street.

very well located hotel on a wide street which becomes pedestrian over the weekend. Room was huge, very nice decorated, with a gorgeous view and clean.

reception staff could not provide guidance for surrounding tourist attractions even though the breakfast had plenty of options, these options were definitely not fresh (not even the fruits) cockroaches seen on the stairs on the restaurant level the sky bar was not open. I guess that would be because of the intense heat, but then they should mention it on the website

Everything was perfect. The service here has been exceptional (now that we have gone through a few more hotels). From the moment we booked the response from customer service to organise our transfers and hotel stay was a give away already! The rooms were spacious, bed was comfortable, beautiful decor showcasing the central Hue charms. The place is so conveniently located with everything in walking distance, yet away from the busy streets so it was really safe to walk our kids around. The spa was amazing as well and the staff were absolute gems! This was our favorite place to stay and we cannot wait to come back

Everything was great

Everything about this hotel was exceptional. The room was spacious and comfortable, the buffet breakfast superb (the best we experienced in a month of travel in Vietnam), the pool was refreshing after long days of sightseeing. The staff were friendly and helpful (they organised a car and driver for a day to take us to three Nguyen temples of our choosing - affordable and very much worth doing!) On weekend evenings there is music in the street in front of the hotel, lively and fun, and it finishes by 10pm. Perhaps best of all is the great seafood sidewalk restaurant right opposite - best meals in Hue!

We were warmly taken care of by staff from the moment we arrived, specially Anh Huong who took care of all our paperwork for both check in and check out. The hotel is big and luxurious, with a nice gym and other amenities which we didn’t use. The breakfast was extravagant with so many food options, both local and international. The room was comfortable and had an extra large bed. Location wise, not very central to the main area of Hue but it was a lovely 15-20 min walk next to the river to get into town or a short grab for roughly 30k.

Our room had a shower in a bath, which personally I’m not a fan of, but nothing to complain about. The one issue we had was that there must have been a leak in the bath from our shower as each time we used it, it would flood the bathroom floor. I mentioned this at check out so that they can attend to the matter for future guests. It didn’t impede our stay, we still had a wonderful time and would happily stay again, especially for the breakfast on the 12th floor - amazing views!

Thanh Lich Hotel truly exceeded all expectations and stands out as the best hotel I experienced in Vietnam. The service was simply exceptional—personalized, thoughtful, and far beyond what you’d expect from a 4-star property. In fact, the quality of service, cleanliness, and comfort could easily rival any 5-star hotel. Special praise to the hotel management, who clearly understand Western standards and have created a unique and professional environment in central Vietnam. Honestly, they could lead workshops or teach other hoteliers in Vietnam what true international hospitality looks like. Warm thanks to Hang from the restaurant for her kind service and helpful insights about the city and local food, which she shared with me from the beautiful rooftop restaurant and terrace. Also, a big thank you to Hoài, Thu, and Anh from the reception—especially Hoài, who was incredibly helpful from the moment I arrived. She arranged a private tour, clearly explained the highlights of the Imperial City, tombs, and pagoda, and even recommended a dragon boat ride. She went the extra mile by reviewing restaurants on my wish list and giving great feedback. Her excellent English made everything smooth and enjoyable. I felt completely at home here and can confidently recommend Thanh Lich Hotel to everyone. My only regret is not extending my stay!

Very spacious room, nice bathroom, great breakfast with a view, very friendly staff, good location. Great spa and pool.

On the second floor our room was right in front of the elevator; due to the way of the doors, we could hear everything and it was loud. We were also unlucky as some other guests were extremely rude and made ridiculous noise and all sorts of behaviours in the corridor, disturbing everyone from 5am. It would be good to show consideration for others and realise you are not alone at home. Also, although not a real issue, our window looked out directly onto a wall. It would be nice to know this in advance, as we were expecting floor to ceiling windows with some views of the city.
