The hostess was lovely, very happy to receive guests and a great personality. Jenny was very welcoming and knows how to take care of her guests. The room was clean, comfortable and the location is perfect. Lovely and peaceful with a fantastic organic, localy sourced breakfast to boot. The house is exactly what you would expect, beautiful, chocolate box charm. My wife and I would definitely come stay again the next time we are going into Bristol. The drive into town was easy and didn't take long, we had the hustle and bustle of the city for the evening and woke up in the countryside to the sound of songbirds. What more could you ask for.
The fact that I hadn't booked to stay longer 🤣

Jenny offered such as lovely welcome to her home. She offered to book us a table at a local pub for dinner when we arrived, she gave us brilliant directions to the wedding venue we were attending and her breakfasts were phenomenal. Everything Jenny puts into making her home a comfortable and welcoming place is done with such care and thoughtfulness. She also truly aims for the most ethical and sustainable living possible. She was genuinely wonderful to talk to at all times. The house itself is gorgeous and impeccably kept. We chose this accommodation initially due to it being situated within a 3 minute walk of Coombe Lodge where we were attending a wedding. We would happily stay again without another wedding to attend!
There is honestly nothing we didn't love about our stay.

Loved this beautiful house and garden. Absolutely brilliantly located for a wedding at coombe lodge. Extremely attentive host. Very comfortable stay with all the perks of extra luxury.
Only small suggestion is to swap out a meat item on the cooked breakfast for a veggie replacement. Though both breakfasts were delicious.

Jenny made us feel like she was welcoming us as family. So friendly, bubbly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was warm and comfortable everything you needed for a great evening and slept so well on a fantastic bed. Breakfast was relaxed and the food was exceptional. We were lucky to be the only guests (actually we felt like family ) so had Jenny and Titch (adorable friendly dog) to ourselves. It was our anniversary and 1st time we had away on our own in 28 years and Jenny made it a memorable stay we will never forget and will make it a regular.
Nothing to fault.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Jen. She is a fabulous host and went through all the details in an incredibly personable way, giving us an insight into her life. We were immediately impressed by the detail she shared regarding the rooms, linen and breakfast options. Our room was clean, had high quality products and felt very homely. The bed was so comfortable and we had a lovely view of the garden and countryside. Breakfast was even better than described and we are so grateful for Jen having us to stay in her lovely home!
Nothing, it was perfect :)

A very welcoming hostess who runs a superb B&B to very high standards. Charming property, with nice gardens (gorgeous primroses!) in a lovely Mendips village. Our full English breakfast was brilliant with top class sausage, bacon and black pudding; fresh made bread, freshly roasted coffee. Jenny aims high and hits the bullseye with the breakfast. Room facilities were lovely, everything spotless, good bed... We were attending a wedding locally. Coombe Lodge Farm was the perfect place to stay. Thank you Jenny! Brilliant stay.

The property was beautiful, it was a home as well as a boutique business that offered a place to relax and enjoy a quiet getaway. Jenny was very welcoming and very friendly. I felt at home immediately, the room was exquisite and well equipped and comfortable. Jenny goes the extra mile and supplies a most comfortable bed and luxurious sheets. You could quite easily loose time and just stay in the room, there is drink making facilities and little extras. With books within the room, I picked one up and forgot to almost go to the event I was there to go to. Jenny did a fantastic breakfast and her beautiful dog and cat were also very welcoming hosts! I would not hesitate to stay there again, next time for longer! Thank you Jenny for a truly wonderful experience.

Jenny provided exceptional hospitality in a home befitting of this stunning part of the world. I was in the downstairs suite, which was almost like a self-contained little annexe, with a very comfortable bedroom linked with a spacious main bathroom and a separate shower room by a private corridor which even offered personal access to the vast gardens (which I regrettably didn't take the opportunity to enjoy on this occasion). I was made more than welcome to sit in the main lounge/living room area, which was a pleasant place to read my book and enjoy Jenny's great music playlist. A breakfast which sets you up for your day just nicely is served in a grand dining room, and having tried both the cooked English breakfast and the yoghurt with compote - each time served with toast, butter and preserves, tea, coffee and apple juice (orange juice was also available) - I would recommend both. I stayed here over two nights for a wedding at the impressive Coombe Lodge, for which this B&B is very convenient, but I came away thinking it would also make a nice retreat to enjoy the house itself, surrounding villages (Blagdon & Rickford) and countryside for a few days. Most people probably drive here I suspect, but if you're taking the train or coach and find yourself needing to get out here from Bristol city centre I'd suggest looking at the local buses, especially the WestLink. I was advised beforehand that it's possible to get taxis out to Blagdon, but I took the cheaper option of taking a regular bus out to Whitchurch on the southern edge of Bristol (this is as far into the city as the WestLink goes to go direct to Blagdon) then booked a WestLink minibus to pick me up from there and take me straight out to Blagdon. Both journeys took around 20-25 minutes each, compared to an estimated 35 minute journey in a taxi, but they were also only £2 each compared to the £30-£38 that Uber were quoting, so it's something to consider.

Everything! Communication before visit was excellent. Welcome made us feel at home straight away. Lovely to have the host recommended a pub for dinner and then arrange the reservation for us. Room was spotless and had everything needed! Husband particularly enjoyed the coffee machine. Bed and bedding was amazing to sleep in. Breakfast was amazing and loved the chat with other guests and Jenny. Home bread fresh bread was just another level of amazing attention to detail. We stayed due to a wedding and it’s perfect as a few minutes stroll! We were just sad to leave! If you want an amazing stay I would 💯 recommend- we loved 🥰 it!
That we had to leave and return home 😢 at the end of our stay.

Before we even arrived Jenny ( Host ) called me to answer a question I had asked and literally bent over backwards to accommodate my friend and I. The location of the property is absolutely picturesque and perfect in every way. You couldn't ask for better. The house was the same, absolutely beautiful. You could see how much effort and pride had gone into the house. Nothing was too much trouble and all the little details made such a difference. stunning and delicious cooked breakfast, home made bread and a very lovely little dog too to greet you. What a little gem in a very magical part of the world that I didn't know existed. I will definitely be back and hopefully for longer next time. Thank you Jenny.x
