We arrived very late but staff was available and checked us in quickly. The room was very clean and nice. It was a great value and location close to the train station and ferry terminal is a huge plus.

The hotel had an excellent bed - the most important thing I needed from a hotel. Also, they provided an electric tea kettle when I asked for it, which was a very welcome addition to the room's facilities. The hotel is right across the street from the train station, so it is very convenient from the transportation perspective.

The shower had no door. I never understood what kind of perverted logic goes into making such "design decisions". Also, there were no ceiling lights in the room, so the room was pretty dark at night, to the point that I could not read. Finally, I was not impressed by the breakfast.

Nice comfortable hotel. A 15 min walk from the ferry terminal, and housed in the same building as the bus terminal. So if proximity to transportation matters (like it did for us), this is a great option. Frankly, the hotel pretty much offers all the facilities you would expect.

The entrance to the hotel was really dirty. While I understand the wind had blown all the trash to that place, a hotel this big should be able to hire someone to keep it clean. The hotel shares the same building as the bus terminal,That's great in terms of being able to catch an early bus, but it also means the eateries nearby are low quality. You have to take a taxi or walk half an hour to find a decent restaurant.

The hotel is renovated but the furnitures look quite old. It is just next to the bus station, and 5 min walk to the port. Very nice winter sunshine through the window every day and you don’t really need any heating. The hotel has a restaurant for breakfast and dinner, and there are also many good restaurants within walking distance.

There are some stains on the floor. My room is facing the bus station so it is quite noisy. On my last day I finally found that the room has a roller shutter outside the window, but it’s kind of stuck and wouldn’t work.

The hotel is within walking distance to the port and it is a very straightforward walk, no turns required. There is also ample parking and the bus station and train station are also very close. The staff is very helpful and the front desk is manned 24 hours a day which was wonderful as I needed to leave early for the ferry. Check in was simple and the front desk helped answer my questions. The room I stayed in was massive and had a lovely balcony with outdoor seating. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The bathroom was also quite large and had a tub and shower combination. Very nice room for the price and lots of space. Also easy walking distance to restaurants and the downtown area. If you want a hotel that is close to the port, has easy parking, and is clean with nice rooms - I would highly recommend.

I prepaid for the room and received an email, probably in error, saying that I needed to check in by eight PM or risk losing my reservation. That made me fairly nervous but it wasn't at issue upon check in.

This was a one-night stay for a group of 4 friends (non-couples) during an Andalusia tour, when we needed a place to stay close to Gibraltar. Even though the hotel is adjacent to the bus station (not very pretty area), and the building is not the most modern / freshest, we really enjoyed the room which had two separate single beds (very comfortable) in each of the two bedrooms. Bathroom had an internal door separating toilet from shower/sinks which was helpful. Staff was polite and helpful. Breakfast was good for 8.50 per person.

The parking was under the hotel with direct elevator access to the rooms (something that is rare and costs a lot more than 10/day in other cities), we still thought it would be nice to be included in the room price.

Everything - the location next to the bus station - close to the port and within easy walking distance of the old town. The hotel is not stylish but is immaculately clean, offers excellent food in the restaurant particularly the breakfast and the staff are friendly and helpful. We were absolutely delighted with our experience at Mir Octavio wish vastly exceeded our expectations. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Nothing - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The room - despite having an old design - had its charm and was very clean. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, for instance in terms of logistics (How to get to Gibraltar? … to Malaga? …?) by printing out the bus schedules and explaining everything in detail. Supergood. The hotel is well located in close proximity to the ferry terminal (ca 1 km). So in walking distance. The bus terminal is on the rear of the hotel, the train station on the other side of the street. Both a big plus for those traveling onwards and only stopping in Algeciras. Especially those not using a car for transportation. The breakfast was fair value for the offerings.

A bit outdated from a design. But the hotel certainly has its charm. So no real disadvantages.

This was a great location for me. I only stayed one night arriving by train and leaving by ferry the next day. It was even next to the bus station. The area might not be great late at night but it was fine during the day and early evening. I walked around quite a bit and enjoyed the street art/murals. I found a good place for dinner and breakfast nearby. The hotel reviews didn't sound great, but I thought the room was surprisingly nice. It was large with plenty of space for luggage, working at a desk, and had extra seating. The sheets and pillows were good cotton and I had a balcony. Lots of natural light in the day with a wall of windows to the balcony which had a table and chairs for relaxing. There was even a small refrigerator. I arrived early and they let me store my luggage.

I can't think of anything. I don't usually stay in large hotels (prefer small boutique stays), but the room was great and perfect for one night.
