Exceptional Stay at Colombi Hotel We had a truly wonderful stay at the Colombi Hotel and loved discovering the charm of the surrounding community. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for—nothing was too much trouble, and every need was met with genuine warmth. Do not skip the breakfast! It was absolutely delicious and surprisingly filling—we didn’t even need lunch, just a light early dinner. The location is incredibly convenient, just a short walk from the train station and close to all the local sights. Everything about our experience made us want to return and stay a little longer next time.

There wasn’t anything negative about this property only that our stay was much too short.

Very well located. Fantastic restaurant. Food and service 10/10! Beautiful wine list with fair prices. Also very central and the christmas market takes place directly in front of the hotel, rooms are quiet.

Everyting extremely old, expect the restaurant. Needs a lot of investments and renovations. Feels like in another century. Service level of the staff not on the usuals LHW. The jobs gets done, but without a lot of friendliness, passion and the willingness to go the extra mile like most other LHW hotels do.

The classic decor & set up of the room was exceptional. Very clean and well maintained. It is a beautiful property.

The city restaurants were full due to holiday & Christmas Market visitors. We needed a recommendation & help on a place to eat. The staff simply said: 'Everything is full' without really making any effort to contact places where they have connections OR looking a bit outside the city center which was NOT completely booked. We talked later to people who ate at a restaurant nearby (outside the pedestrian zone) that was half empty. As it turned out, we ate a bratwurst at a stand in the city center because we had no indoor place to sit down and enjoy a meal. I would expect staff at a 5-star hotel to me more helpful and resourceful. One more thing - the down pillows are very luxurious but completely too thin and useless for sleeping. Please buy some thicker pillows.

Hi class hotel. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. We were upgraded to a junior suite as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary.

Very disappointed that pool was out of action and we probably would not have booked this place, had we realised. The wellness facilities were limited for such a swanky hotel. The coffee machine did not work so we had to swap that. I would have preferred a simple kettle for making tea.

We loved our stay at Colombi Hotel! The property was perfect and very well situated to explore the beautiful city of Freiburg. Breakfast was plentiful. Staff couldn’t be more attentive to our needs during our stay!

Can’t say anything negative about this hotel! Would definitely stay here again if we are ever in Freiburg!

Passing the years the services are slowly loosing some attention that in a 5 stars Luxury hotel shall never happen: one example the room service for breakfast took already used and opened cans of marmelade... is stupid but should never happen. The shower head was full of calc...small things that can be easily solved

Bar allowed people to smoke within! Even though they had a smoking section separate, the whole bar we full of smoke, like something out of the 1980’s. The bar itself was beautifully designed. In the room no tea/coffee or water facilities provided which I’m surprised about for 5star hotel. TV in room was something out of the 1990’s

Excellent retaurant, great wine selection and lovely food. The room was small, but the bed and airco were a delight in the heatwave we witnessed. We did not get a chance to try the pool area, but it looked nice.

The bar is a bit too much 80ies, and the staff present when we were there was a bit too junior to know the difference between the coctail americano (which we expected) and the hot beverage (which we got).

The Colombi Hotel has been the best hotel in Freiburg for years due to its superior comfort, location and service. The staff are exceptional and ensured our stay was simply excellent.

Everybody at the hotel was very nice and friendly, it made my stay really enjoyable. The location is very good too, within walking distance of the train station and the center of the city. It is also great that they have single rooms.

Nothing much. It was a bit warm in the room to my taste and I could hear some noise from the room next to mine, but on the whole it was rather quiet, I slept very well.
