The room was very clean and comfortable. Everything was well thought out. The location is very good, on a B category road, which is very handy to visit Forde Abbey. There were plenty of outside seating areas and parking. Breakfast was put in the fridge and it was plentiful. There was a cafetiere and ground coffee which was much appreciated. There was a good selection of tea, coffee, etc. WiFi signal was good. Beds comfy. Unfortunately, my dog had cut her leg and l had to take her to the vets in Crewkerne. Gregg, the host, was exceptionally kind in driving there, with me following, so l could get there in time. it was so thoughtful. He was very helpful as well in booking a table at a nearby pub.. i would definitely stay again when exploring the area

it was all good. perhaps it might be a bit difficult going for a walk directly from the property?

The communication was excellent directions and check in very easy, with key in safe waiting for you on arrival . Room was warm, cosy immaculate and spacious and smelled lovely as you walked in with soft fresh bedding and towels, it had little extras like soaps and face towels, shower and bath gel. Tea, coffee available to make in the room with complimentary biscuits and chocolates , the guest brochure had everything you needed. WiFi was excellent and I was pleasantly surprised that I could watch Netflix on the tv Thank you, I would thoroughly recommend you and would not hesitate to book with you again

The only thing I could say and it’s not a complaint is the window of my room looked over the car park and with the curtains open anyone pulling up could see straight in so I would have liked net curtains but that’s just being really picky !

We booked 4 rooms for family occasion. Our host was very good, checking beforehand which facilities were required for each room (one room has walk-in shower rather than shower over bath) about breakfast options and gave checking-in details as requested.. Rooms are spacious and have tea and coffee provided. And small fridge. Lovely to have 2 comfortable chairs and a table to sit at. We had breakfasts each day, could eat in our rooms or out on the patio area, which was very nice. Very good location for us.

Directions to the property were nice and straightforward; I appreciated the cleanliness of the rooms and comfort of the bed. The shower was also great 👍🏽 My son and I only stayed for one night so just needed somewhere to sleep for the night before heading back to Kent in the morning.

I would have appreciated some fresh water in the room as it was quite late when we arrived. Also the glowing sign on the door was a bit too bright during the night (i need a dark room to sleep well in), but I guess it’s a health and safety requirement. Otherwise top marks :)

Massive super king size bed. The property was clean. The bathroom was modern and a good size. The breakfast basket was a nice touch. There was a reasonable sized fridge. An.outside patio with tables and chairs. There was plenty of parking available. The hosts appear to have thought of everything and kept us updated with booking in etc. We had an evening meal at the Squirrel Imn which was good value with a lovely outside area with beautiful views. We enjoyed our one night stay and would definitely recommend The Golden Fleece and will use again if we're in the area.

Nothing to dislike.

Owner greeted us, was friendly but not intrusive. Room was well equipped- had a fridge which was useful. Continental breakfast provided was delicious with various options Outside or inside dining table and chairs. Location as although on a main road it was quiet as it is set back from the road. Would be great for dog owners as a lovely grassy area to take the fmdog.

There wasn't anything we disliked!

Ideally located for a two night stay whilst visiting relatives. Nice and quiet rooms set back from the road made it ideal for a quiet lie in (we overslept on both days so a very good sign!!). Rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. We opted for teh continental style breakfast which was generous and tasty. Very easy to book etc through Booking.com and the hosts made it easy throughout. Would definitely recommend and re-book next time.

All was great for the couple of nights we stayed.

The breakfast was delicious. My wife likes a cooked breakfast sometimes and was able to ‘design’ her own, which was very nice, and apparently very tasty. I like cereal, and the home-made granola with cherries and yogurt was delicious. I then had toast and marmalade. I am very picky about my marmalade, and the marmalade at The Golden Fleece was exceptionally good. We only stayed a night, but the information provided on the local area was superb and had we been there longer we would have made use of a walk that was mapped by ‘Bailey’ the dog. We’d had a day at a Steam Engine Rally near Taunton and were on our way for a day on the Trams at Seaton, so a geographically perfect and quiet stop over for us. Thoroughly recommended, and we knew we had to arrange our own evening meal so that was OK.

I honestly couldn’t fault The Golden Fleece.

Absolutely perfect , modern rooms and bathroom, really clean, super efficient checking in and out didn’t have any problems or complaints. We have family in Somerset and the surrounding areas so this is now our go to place to stay when visiting, we have and will recommend to any family and friends. Going off our stay if there are any bad reviews they will be from people who are never happy.

The main plus for us was the superb grassy paddock. Our rescue dog had a wail of a time with the deflated leather football it was a stone’s throw from our room. Carol was welcoming and helpful we had delicious breakfast with good choice particularly enjoyed the fresh cherry granola and yoghurt. The beds were very comfortable and the room very carefully thought out. It’s an ideal spot to visit Forde Abbey and all the nearby towns and villages.

A couple of luggage racks would have made rifling through my case easier as it would have been at waist height instead of on the floor.
