Close to subway and the Nanjing Street shopping area. Many restaurants are close by; bought 2 tea eggs and a mushroom steamed bun at a total of 6.5RMB from a tiny store that specialized in steamed buns and is 2 traffic lights away, the bun was excellent. Room was fine except the carpet that could use some deep cleaning. My room had no view and was facing walls of the next building but could see two tall high rises not too far away. Staff were friendly, polite and tried their best to help me to find my way around. One thing to watch out for is going from hotel to airport by subway, my train turned back halfway from destination, through the kindness of a woman who told me I had to change train on a different platform (same line number though) that I could carry on with no other problems. Wonder it's the norm or an isolated incident.

This hotel is such good value for money given its location in central Shanghai. It is so close to the Bund and East Nanjing Street metro station and shopping area. The staff are very friendly - loved the cat! The room was larger than expected, with a mezzanine level for the bedroom. The bed was large and very comfortable. The bathroom and toiletries were great.

Everything was good, although the Wi-Fi is a little weak. There's not much natural light, but I imagine that's normal for old buildings in central Shanghai.

The location is go good for subway, the Bund. Quieter than you would imagine. Very helpful, friendly staff. Beautiful cat!!

Not something super classy but perfect for lower budgets!

Staff spoke very little to no English, which made communication difficult (then again English is not that common in general in China)

Good location - metro Lines 2 and 10, the Bund, main shopping street, cheap eats street and a 24hr convenience store all within 5 to 10min walk. Room is basic and dated but otherwise fine. Very friendly staff, the lovely lady behind the counter even gave me a free upgrade.

TV in bedroom didn’t work, but didn’t mind as wasn’t there for that. There was an occasional rumbling noise - not sure if metro or plumbing? but I used earplugs so again wasn’t a huge issue. Some surfaces could have been cleaner.

Room sizes were amazing, and fairly clean, also the shower was good. Staff were friendly, and willing to try their english speaking skills or use translation app as required. They also did a great job of securing us a taxi for our departure. The location is the great, probably the best selling point as it is a short walk from Nanjing Road. From the hotel, you can probably reach the bund in around 20 minutes but the walk is enjoyable if you head to Nanjing Road first. There is also some super interesting backstreets around the location of this hotel, where you can get the best scallion pancakes served fresh. The room had a fridge, was was needed due to the heat we experienced at the time of staying.

TV didn't work, which is no major issue but needs a mention. Shower was okay once you get the hang of it, but initially it may be tricky to find the hot/cold balance. Internet service needs an uplift, you're better off using an eSim because the internet service is very weak here, and thats without considering China's great firewall.

I was very happy to receive a free upgrade. Central location at a reasonable price, walking distance to a number of attractions as well as eating and drinking options. Suitably clean and quite quiet, I was not disturbed by any noise. I rate this place at 8.5.

There is no view out of the window (but nothing bad either). Some of the room aspects make a bit of a wear and tear impression, however that was not a problem. I rate the place at 8.5 but the system does not let to enter 8.5.

The hotel’s location is really good, as it’s close to the city center. It’s only a couple of blocks from the Nanjing east subway station and it was an easy walk to the bund. The room was clean and comfortable, and there was a small fridge and microwave. The staff was helpful.

The immediate neighborhood around the hotel doesn’t look that great as it’s close to a raised road and you can’t see much from the hotel itself but it’s a good value for the price.

Location is excellent, within walking distance to the metro station, the Bund and Nanjing road. There are also many food options in the area. Staff gave me a free upgrade to a bigger room which is a loft unit where the bedroom is upstairs. There is air conditioner in both the bedroom level and living room/ toilet level. The towels and bedsheets are clean.

The carpet and sofa look old and dirty. The lighting is dim. Saw a cockroach in my room. The hotel is located in a narrow one way lane and the cab drivers cannot find it easily.
