As soon as I arrived and started walking towards the soon to be opened swimming pool the Indian magic unraveled right before my eyes. So I'm walking past the pool, & I hear boom boom boom, & chanting and my spiritual awakening stated, I was hearing Navaho, so powerful I was being taken back 600 years ago , & now I remember hearing this familiar chant on an Coast 2Coast episode 20 years ago. I made eye contact with one of the performers who didn't have to look @ me , but did thank you so much for that hope you can teach me some drumming skills some day thanks again I will never ever forget that moment , I was born for that sound. Well after this spiritual awakening, there is nothing that you don't like except for the disappointment of realizing that you're phone was just about out of power, & could only take a picture, but no audio, just audio embedded in your Brain for ever 🌵😎🪴

The location put you within walking distance of restaurants and shops. The rooms were clean. The beds were very comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The price was reasonable compared to similar offerings in the area. WiFi was available throughout the property and Dish cable was clear and reliable. There were several charging ports as well as a power cube that provided plenty of space to plug in anything you brought with you. Even though the temperature was frigid outside, the room stayed pretty comfortable. There was a table and chairs so you could eat in room if you so desired.

The room could have had a few minor repairs. Air came in around the entrance door, but the heat compensated for that. The bathroom door had a couple small holes, but the bathroom itself was very clean. There was a slight musty smell initially, but perhaps that room hadn’t been used in a while. It dissipated quickly. The ice machines were frozen up, but the desk actually brought me a small amount from the ice they used in the office. There was street noise, but you are on a main road, so that would have been in any hotel you chose in this area. The pools were closed, but we knew they were seasonal when we booked.

We stayed on the first floor near the pool, from June 29-July 6. Our room was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, we did not get to swim in the pool, though it was clean and inviting. The location was perfect for our stay in Cherokee. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were very pleased with our choice to stay at the Great Smokies Inn in Cherokee NC and we plan to stay again in the summer of 2026.

Great Customer service! Carsen was super sweet and very attentive. The room, microwave, fridge, lobby and grounds were very very clean. Did not see a single piece of trash or even a cigarette butt anywhere on the ground. Very taken care of for an older hotel. Close to everything. We even woke up to seeing 5 - 6 Elk outside of our room ... AMAZING! We Will definitely be back ❤️

A/C unit in room a little noisy and outside porch light shined in room but no biggie. The fact that the room was very clean and beds along with pillows were comfortable was all that mattered truly. It was a GREAT place to stay.

It is the perfect location and a great value. The pool is perfect for children, and the staff are very friendly. There is always someone available if you have any questions or need assistance. There is a laundry room available for guests, but it takes quarters. You will need $4.50 to wash and dry a load. Our microwave messed up during our stay and the maintenance man came and switched it out for us. Great customer service!

We stayed 4 nights and housekeeping never came in to change our sheets or bring us new towels, etc. I had to go to the front desk every day to get new towels, toilet paper and trash bags. That was the only thing that I can say is a minus in terms of rating. For the price, we didn't mind taking the extra time to do it.

Exceeded expectations. Very clean facility with friendly staff in a great location. Nice outdoor pool in a lovely setting. This place is a great value if you are looking for no frills, but clean and comfortable in a great location. No breakfast served, but there is coffee and tea in the lobby. Breakfast restaurant is across the street. Amazing Mexican restaurant across the street. Close (walkable) to other shops and restaurants. Will stay here again. Great value.

The gentleman check us in was great Rooms was very clean and comfortable the shower was great liked adjustable shower heads really comfortable beds if I has one complaint it was we tried to stay extra night and wasn't available but the place was empty while we stayed didn't make since even though we liked the place we had to go to another place in Cherokee

We live in the Metro Atlanta area and need to get away from the fast pace of our lives. We love going to the NC Mountains to do that. This was our first time staying at this hotel. I can not say enough about this hotel. The staff was very very nice and made great suggestions on eating places, things to do etc. The place is an older hotel but you would not know it by the way it has been taken care of. It is within walking distance of many things to do and eat. It was a very peaceful stay. We will be coming back for more mini vacations in the future.

Great location. Very clean. Quiet in early spring. Very pleasant staff. Rooms are standard motel layout but somewhat generously sized for this price point. Bathroom could use updating, but we didn’t see any mold or rust or torn/stained carpet or linens or anything of the sort anywhere in the room. Water pressure is decent. Pillows are the Achilles heel here- pretty flat, even using two. Otherwise a great place to stay for 1-3 nights visiting the Smokies on the NC side.

The property was very nice for the type of property that it is. The staff was very friendly and helpful, But the biggest plus to this stay was walking into our room. It is a nice room no real frills, but I was not expecting that. The room however was very clean, and you could smell the clean when your walked in. The cleaning staff does a wonderful job. I would highly recommend The Great Smokies Inn, when traveling to Cherokee NC.
