Location was perfect for exploring Garmisch. Plenty of parking and the center of town is only a few blocks away. The train to get to Zugspitze is a 5 minute walk so that was very convenient. The rooms were large and had a nice balcony (which we like to sit after a busy day exploring). Restaurants and supermarkets are close. It is also only a short drive to Partenkinchen and Mittenwald. Good strategic location for exploring. The host (Owner) Henri Brunnthaler was nice and accommodating. A very Bavarian looking hotel nestled in a residential neighborhood. I would stay again and would recommend!!

Despite heavy, stop & go traffic from the Munich airport, we arrived at few hours ahead of check in time. So happy that our room was ready and we were able to check in immediately. The room was large, light, and airy with a comfortable bed, fluffy pillows/linens, a closet, rain shower and a private balcony with chairs to view the mountains. They served a top notch German breakfast with cold cuts/cheeses, cooked eggs, multiple breads, yogurt, fruit and excellent coffee/cappuccino. The entire hotel is super clean and well maintained. The location is great! We parked the car as it was only a 5 min walk to restaurants, grocery store and shops. The entire staff was super helpful, friendly and pleasant. We didn't use the sauna or the lounge that was available.

It was a bit pricy but the accommodations were great.

The family/ staff lives on site and delightfully pleasant and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast was perfect, and well appointed. The room was spacious, and had an outdoor sitting area/porch we enjoyed. Parking was close and convenient. P.S. Shared the chocolate bar with my wife on your request 😉!

We stayed during an unusual warm spell and there was no air conditioning (understandable for that area), however the staff provided a portable fan and along with modern, easily opened and breezy windows, it was essentially a non issue, especially at night.

Room was ready when we checked in. Had we arrived earlier than stated time and room not ready, they would have stored our bags let us park our car regardless. The location looks like a residential neighborhood and is very nicely appointed. You can have breakfast inside or outside, and if outside, you can walk around a nice yard area. Very quite and peaceful neighborhood. Elevator to the 1st floor if needed, and beers as well as soft drinks are in a vending machine downstairs. Room was spacious and had a nice size balcony that we enjoyed the entire time there. Good size bathroom - very comfortable. Large closet and good size desk and shelving for things. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good. I orginally reserved the rooms without breakfast, as I thought the cost was a bit high at $20+ per person. Based on our schedules for mountain exploring, etc., we determined that the convenience of have a very good and filling buffet breakfast every morning before we left the hotel made more sense than driving into town to find a place that had a comparable breakast. We were very happy with our decision. The food was very good, pretty much unlimited, and the coffees were made to order. During our stay, we both had birthdays. I had mentioned to staff about doing something special the following on my wife's birthday, as they were aware from our reservation. The next morning, they had a table with a large pink balloon, two very large chocolate pastries and a small bottle of champagne. Our server and manager lit the candles and played a happy birthday tune on her phone. It couldn't have been more perfect. Two days later on my birthday, the same was done for me, providing us with a small chocolate cake and a blue balloon. Parking is on the property, and can get challenging with they are full. We were able to park pretty easily while we were there. Location: Easy 5-10 leisurely walk to town. Mountain views from the room.

We didn't like that we only had 3 nights to spend here. We had a car, so going to a number of areas within an hour or so was not a problem. That said, we has a quick and easy walk to the train station that took us to the Zugspriz cable car.

The loft annex room for one person was just perfect - plenty of room; comfortable bed; cosy lounge/TV area; balcony with mountain views; small, well-equipped kitchen; modern bathroom with sky facing windows letting in plentiful natural light; beautiful wooden floors and ceiling. The staff were invariably friendly and helpful, dealing admirably with the fact that I spoke only English. The location was ideal for someone like me. It was only a short walk to the train and bus stops, Lidl for groceries, tourist information office, and many cafes. The Guest Card allowed me to use the public bus for free to visit Mittenwald, Ettal, Lindhof Palace and even Neuschwanstein Castle, 2 hours away.

I needed help in using the swipe card to gain access to the building, but once I had been given a lesson it was just fine.

From the greeting on entry to departure perfect. We moved from one bad hotel to this perfect one. Awesome mountain views, room is very clean and a good size. Very close to the cogg train that goes to zugspiz (4 min) Breakfast was delicious, but the staff make this a great stay.

A small observation, we were lucky to not have neighbours except on our last night. The 2 women next to our room talked until midnight, which unfortunately we could hear. This is a perfect location and hotel, but sound does travel.

The location was very good, close to the train station and city center, yet extremely quiet. We also had a balcony with a direct view of Zugspitze, which was absolutely breathtaking.

On the first night, we had an issue with the drainage system that caused half of the room to flood. Since it happened in the middle of the night, we had to dry it ourselves with all the towels available. Fortunately, once we informed the receptionist, the issue was fixed the same day.

Great location within easy walking distance to the town centre. The owners and staff of this family-run hotel were very warm, friendly and helpful with information on how to visit places of interest there by public transport. Room was very clean and cosy. Breakfast was a delightfully good spread. And any time during the day, you can ask for a hot cup of coffee or tea at the front desk!

Everything was perfect. We only stayed one night to make our trip to the Zugspitze and Eibsee. However, everything started with a very warm welcome and we've been given exceptionally detailed and helpful information upon arrival on how to spend both days (with regards to the weather) to their full and best extent and indeed, it could not have been any better. Thanks for that! Our room was very clean, everything appeared to be well maintained and there's not a single thing I could complain about. The staff is very friendly, the view from the balcony was just beautiful, especially in the evening and the morning. It's also not far from the train station and Zugspitzbahn station. Definitely recommended. :)

We had a very comfortable stay at Hotel Garni Brunnthaler. We love German food but it was great to stay in the apartment annex which had cooking facilities enabling us to cook our own smaller meals and get a break from eating out while travelling. The hotel location is ideal if travelling by train, being centrally located and a short walk from the train station, supermarket and restaurants and the Zugspitz rail terminal. Our apartment was well equipped, a very comfortable bed, nice lounge facilities, good bathroom and a balcony with a mountain view. We did have one breakfast in the hotel which was good. The hotel is also located close to the bus stop to get around if needed but you need to check the bus timetable as it only runs once an hour in each direction.

Hotel staff could have explained a bit more about the local area, ie how to get to the various attractions by public transport.
