What a lovely place. Nice big room with a huge domeshape with four big beds. When you walk out your room you can sit outside on the premises overlooking the Nile. A wonderful place to relax and read a book. They will bring you by boat to the other side where the city is and back again for free. Breakfast served outside was lovely. We had one dinner at home as well. Simply delicious. Owners are very honest and helpful. They will help you with excursions without shaking you down. We wanted to go on a Felucca down the Nile towards Luxor after this. They had a trustworthy captain that came to the guesthouse to meet us and talk about our ideas with whom we then dealt directly. We didn't have to negotiate the price, very reasonable. It was a wonderful experience. After the chaos of Cairo we we're really happy about this place. So quiet and peaceful. If I had more time I would stay here for a week, just hanging out, seeing the sites.

It's a wonderful 10/10 but we arrived at night by taxi and right before you get there you go through an area and you think: "I hope it's not here", but then you enter the guest house itself and realize you are in paradise. If you arrive on the other side and they pick you up by boat, you instantly fall in love.

Staff was helpful and friendly. They arrange everything you ask them (transport, tours), ofcourse you pay a little more than when you do it yourself but at least you know it is gonna be well arranged. Rooms were nice and cool. The place is situated on the calmer bank of Nile which gives it a relaxing feeling.

The disadvantage of being on the more quiet bank of Nile is that you are a bit dependent on the hotel staff taking you to the other side. 90% of the time this goes quickly, but unfortunately once we had to wait for an hour when everyone was at the mosque.

Finishing two nights stay at Maghrabi’s, we genuinely think this must be our best time in Aswan, or maybe in the whole Egypt! The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. Hot water is stable and the beds are very comfortable. The garden (the dining area) is just beside the Nile, and it can be a true enjoyment to do nothing, just sitting there drinking freshly made juice or coffee in the garden. Everybody in the guesthouse was so friendly (not the “I want your tips” way of friendly, but genuinely willing to treat you nicely). The host is one of the best people we’ve ever met, always smiling, and he helped us a lot during our stay in Aswan, sending us back to the house from the East Bank even though it was late. When our driver wanted to add up price and refused to pick us up, the host negotiated with the driver for us and got the driver come to pick up us and our luggage. Btw, the juice and coffee there are really good!

Already very good

I read some great reviews before booking our 3 nights there and they met our expectations. The owners are lovely hosts and they cross you across the Nile in their boat for free which is a plus as the guesthouse is situated in a very quiet area on the west bank. If you are in need of peace and quiet in a magnificent place, this is for you. Plus, the food they offer is very tasty (also try the hibiscus tea), the rooms are beautifully decorated without losing the nubian charm. They even helped out with the booking of a private car to Luxor. The guesthouse is one of the best places we have ever been too. I recommend it thoroughly.

Being away from tourist areas in Aswan was what we wanted. The guesthouse was on the West Bank of the Nile in a peaceful, bucolic setting (farming area, cows, goats, camels, donkeys). The room (107) we had was in the new wing so good shower, AC, etc. and the ceiling built in the Nubean style. At dawn, as the sun hits, the ceiling is illuminated like the night sky. Although far away, the busy Aswan world is only a short(and free) on-demand boat ride away. So we had access to restaurants across the way. Tomb of the Nobles is walkable, but I think the guesthouse would have taken us by boat if I asked. The facilities themselves reminded me of a beach resort in the Philippines, with views to die for and easy access to the Nile. Tables and chairs scattered about for breakfast and soft drinks. Sometimes they might have other meals available but check in the morning. The best part of the experience is the staff who were friendly and welcoming: Hossam, Sayid, and the two older boys named Mohammed. Of note: we picked up virus before coming to Aswan, and started showing symptoms there. Hossam personally escorted us to the “tourist” hospital Al-germaniya and stayed for three hours with us so he could accompany us back to guesthouse. We would not have managed the bureaucratic process without him. When we gave him bakhshish/tip, he absolutely refused it. Owner Taha had arranged for taxi to airport($15), which was not a bad price. Although you can only speak with Taha over the phone, don’t hesitate to ask Hossam to speak to him if you need anything. If you’re coming into Aswan late in the day, ask to be picked up from airport because the place is not easy to find.

Breakfast is typical Egyptian fare so blame the culture, not the guesthouse. On the plus side, it is served in an open-air area with a beautiful view and the amount is generous! For people looking for fancy facilities and touristy surroundings, this is not your place.

This is the best place to stay in Aswan! We were here for 2 nights (2 adults and 3 children) and loved the guesthouse. It’s quite a magical place along the banks of the Nile facing the city in Aswan. Firstly, the people who work there are great. Very pleasant and helpful, from preparing delicious dinners to organizing a ride up the Nile. These people do it all! The owner, his family and staff could not be more caring about the guests. And importantly, very honest people. They don’t even accept tips! The hotel itself is very charming. It’s an oasis away from the grind of Aswan city life. Beautiful gardens facing the city and very nice, clean and spacious rooms. An outstanding place to stay in Aswan. Would happily return. Many thanks to the owner and his family for all their kindness.

Maghrabi's is one of the classical places in West Aswan and because there is no cafe or restaurant in the area, it is wise to stay in a place that offers everything in one spot. The rooms are decent sized but this year they also created new family rooms, the equipment and decoration of which is among the best one can find in Aswan at the moment (including the Moevenpick and Basma). Revenues are generously re-invested, and my room came with a newly tiled bathroom. The cook at Maghrabi's is a genius who manages both Egyptian and authentic Nubian cuisine all cooked to perfection and the service on the beautiful terraces overlooking the Nile is prompt, friendly and professional. Breakfast includes fresh fruit or salad vegetables but is otherwise mainly continental. They offer transportation on their own boat for an extra fee. There is no place more relaxing in West Aswan than this place.

There is nothing not to like about this well-established family-run business in the heart of Gharb Aswan.

The location was great; on the west bank of Aswan, it was quiet. The view on the Nile from the common area is amazing. The staff is courteous and helped us book our trips to Abu Simbel and Luxor, with a boxed breakfast if we leave early. They have a boat to cross the Nile if needed. Last but not least, the food (tajines) was really good.

The arrival with the taxi was a bit surprising (luggage goes one way in a car, and travellers an other way with an other car). This could have been easier with a better communication ahead of time.

I loved the peace and tranquillity, the quiet location with beautiful views of the Nile and I loved the hospitality of the Nubian village and the family. I recommend this guest house and would very happily return.

For guests with limited mobility, it is difficult to negotiate the pathway to the free ferry to the East Bank. We needed to hire a taxi to take us the long way around via the desert road. The world did not end!

The owner is extremely good, he offered free motorboat to carry us to the other bank. And he also made us some fantastic coffee and other beverage without charge. The room was comfortable and clean. The Breakfast was good as well.We saw the.stunning Neil river view from the hotel.

The location of the hotel is in the village, hard to find if follow the google map from airport(that's what we did)We recommend to go to hotel through the opposite bank by the boat, the owner will offer the location. In general it was a total fantastic experience.
