Location was perfect, staff all really friendly & accommodating, plenty of choice for breakfast. There are some bad reviews about this place. Ignore them. Yes it’s a little tired and in need of some TLC but it’s such good value for money. I don’t care about a bit of peeling paint or a scuffed skirting board as long as it’s clean, has a comfy and warm bed, a hot working shower, fresh towels and the staff are helpful. That’s a big tick to all the above and the breakfast included in the price was bonus. Suited our needs perfectly and I would stay again.

First impressions from outside are mixed, thanks to location next to derelict business, but Waterford Lodge is a treasure. We enjoyed pleasant welcome, large room & comfy bed, quiet at night, plenty tea/coffee in room, easy parking, dog was happy too; large and comfy bar downstairs had plenty of room for our group, full-service breakfast cooked to order was excellent & plenty of filter coffee available with it.

Bathroom was from a previous era - roomy enough but shower was weak and slow - hot bath filled quicky to make up for it

We loved the breakfast and we're lucky to be there on a steak night, which was excellent. The location was right next to a wonderful park to exercise our dog in and the staff were all very welcoming to the dog. The free parking was a bonus.

The room was cold but warmed up when we used the extra radiator provided. I couldn't work the shower but enjoyed a bath instead. There were a lot of stairs for my husband, who is disabled but we hadn't mentioned this when we booked.

Decent sized room but in need of a bit of tlc. Comfy bed. Bath & shower with complimentary toiletries. Good quality towels. Wonderful breakfast cooked to order so everything piping hot. Pleasant bar area with good choice of drinks. Typical choice of bar meals of good standard. Just outside town centre so not troubled by traffic noise. Morpeth well situated for visiting seaside resorts, Farne Islands & several castles.

Breakfast finished at 8.30 which was a bit early for us.

Excellent room, large, comfortable and all we needed was readily to hand, had a problem with shower but staff will sort. Food was excellent, evening meal and breakfast. Nice interior to dining/bar. Nice location close to river and lovely access to nice town of Morpeth. Really enjoyed our stay and would certainly use again.

Slight problem with shower but staff are on to it. Lovely neighbourhood let down by fire damaged adjacent premises, council should have acted on this in an otherwise pleasant surroundings.

Ideal for our overnight stay in this lovely town. The Lodge was close to the town centre with easy access. All staff members we met were friendly, helpful and efficient. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast , included in the booking, was excellent with a very good selection of food available and the full breakfast was cooked perfectly and served very quickly. We also enjoyed dinner in the restaurant both our meals were beautifully cooked, presented very well and tasted delicious. We would definitely recommend staying there.

The bathroom was big and very clean but we couldn’t get the hot water to run in the shower. However the hot tap for the bath worked well so it was not a major issue. No other negative comments to be made as we were very happy with our experience.

Location great, near centre and station. Good car park at back. Large room with bath and shower. Generous with tea, coffee milk etc. Staff very happy to help. Breakfast great, choice of cooked breakfast, with cereal yogurts, plenty of toast and marmalade. Very good value. Plenty of hot water in bathroom good supply of towels.

Decor a little tired. Breakfast finishes at 8 30am which was a bit early for us.

Breakfast included was a nice touch Restaurant & Bar was really nice Great choice of drinks Diana (server) Food was sublime!! Great location

The ceiling in my room was in poor condition and so was the armchair (room 8) For the price, I couldn’t really knock the room too much tbh

The staff were amazing! We had originally booked for one night as a part of our stay on the way to out trip around Scotland, however as the hotel we had booked for the night before was less than suitable, we called and asked if they had a room available the day prior to our booked stay and thankfully they did. We were out in room 11 for the first night. The room was cleaned to a good standard and was clearly decorated somewhat recently and was more modern. We had dinner in the restaurant that evening also and found it to be excellent value for money. We are quite picky, but my children loved the burgers which were amazing quality and the chilli I had was delicious and the portion sizes were great. We were really shocked at the cost of them, and noted to the staff that we would happily have paid double without thinking twice about it. Breakfast was a bit confusing to navigate, but we appreciate we did turn up at the 11th hour. The cooked breakfast was good and the staff were really accommodating and kind. For our second night we were in room 4 which I think hadn’t been modernised yet. However it was a good amount of space (a double and two singles) with plenty of space to move around. Ultimately we’re not really sure on how they manage to keep their prices so low for food and accommodation as our breakfast was included in the cost too. It’s not the ritz, but Ive stayed in a lot worse for a LOT more money. It’s cheap and cheerful, and I will emphasise the cheerful part. The staff were absolutely lovely: I don’t want to use incorrect pronouns (so apologies if I am!) but there was a member of staff with short black hair and a lip stud who was absolutely fabulous on our second night here. They went above and beyond and was really kind and patient with our two children (who could probably make a nun swear in all honesty). They were so helpful and honestly a credit to the place. We’d like to thank all the staff, and would thoroughly recommend staying here to anyone.

The car park is on the smaller side. It did fit our VW transporter with ease alongside around 15 other cars, however it was quite busy so that is something i was a bit conscious of. I also think breakfast could have been explained a little better, but it’s nothing to really grumble about. Ceiling in room 4 was a little dusty but again for the price we really weren’t bothered

Very large family room and bathroom. Clean, comfortable. Generous with towels. Excellent breakfast. Excellent value for money.

Parking rather cramped. Pub below noisy until closing time (a weekend so should have been expected.) Some updating of the property generally needed but our room and the whole interior was spotlessly clean. Would definitely stay again if in the area. These issues are probably reflected in the price and did not affect us adversely.
