The staff were superb. After having my luggage delayed and then an issue with my booking (not St Mary's fault but booking.com), they took care of me and made sure I had everything I needed. They were always happy to answer questions. The room was incredibly spacious and the bathroom was awesome. Room was cleaned frequently. I also fell ill with a cold during my stay and for a day and a half I stayed in bed and was totally comfortable with it so that says a lot!

It got a bit cold in the room and the heater control on the wall wasn't working - BUT it wasn't cold enough for me to speak to staff about it so my own fault I guess.

Entrance stairwell needs more regular cleaning and hoovering. Damaged banquette in bar area requires urgent repair. Chairs and tables on terrace and balcony rusty and in need of repair, or better replacement. Issues with kitchen. Portion sizes very large. Macaroni cheese inedible. Huge plate of macaroni sitting in a tasteless orange broth, apparently paprika, with a dod of mozzarella on top, no cheese flavour whatsoever and no sauce as such. Worst I have come across. Beautifully handled by staff though. Breakfast was good, but they had totally run out of marmalade for the toast. Nutella featured large! No maple syrup for pancakes. Just attention to detail lacking.

Quality interior decor, very clean, staff friendly, professional and clearly motivated there was a “family like” feel about the place. The food here is exceptional, everything was cooked to perfection, nicely presented and a fair price. This was a perfect location close to lots of must see places and you could relax in the lovely outdoor seating areas. Joanne and her staff give a great Northumberland welcome.

Had to dig deep for this - there was no hairdryer and only three hangers in the wardrobe. But we could have asked for hangers I’m sure!

Super pretty building, with nice modernisation inside that's fairly recent and in good condition. Eleanor, one of the bar/restaurant staff was so professional, helpful and went above and beyond multiple ties; helping us with finding electric car charging points when we were clearly disappointed that the on-site ones were out of order, offering extra treats to help our dog feel very welcome and just generally doing a great job of hospitality.

It was a shame that the on-site car chargers were out of order (seemingly permanently) and there were external air conditioning units that were noisy overnight with us having the windows open to get fresh air into the room.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at St Mary’s Inn in Morpeth, Northumberland, and I cannot recommend it enough! From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the warmth and friendliness of the staff and other guests. The hospitality was truly outstanding, making me feel at home right away. The inn exudes charm, with its cozy atmosphere and beautifully decorated spaces. The rooms were comfortable and immaculately clean, and every detail seemed thoughtfully considered. What stood out most was the people. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was memorable, and the locals I met were just as lovely. It’s clear that St Mary’s Inn takes pride in creating a welcoming environment, and they do it exceptionally well. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Northumberland, whether for a peaceful getaway or a chance to meet genuinely wonderful people, St Mary’s Inn is the perfect choice. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

The rooms were huge! The beds were very comfortable, large nice bath in my room. Cookies were left for me as a welcome token. Staff were always very helpful. Food was lovely. Breakfast in particular was very very good.

My friend was in room 8 I believe. His room was right next to the industrial extractor fan. 1 night it didn’t go off until after 10pm he mentioned. Not ideal at all. The hotel we found was rather expensive at £175 a night, although we did book last minute as we had emergency work in the area. Apart from this it was a pleasure to stay.

The only reason I am raring it an eight is because we couldnt work out how to turn the heating off and we were woken up at 5.45am by someone other having a shower or running water that lasted half an hour. Other than that the lady that was running the bar and breakfast in the morning was absolutely amazing and extremely hardworking. Peaceful location and comfortable rooms.

St Mary's Inn is great value for money. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

The outside areas of the Inn needs some TLC. Plants and shrubs aren't looked after and weeds are left to grow. It's a less than attractive introduction to what is an otherwise excellent place to stay.

Beautiful hotel in lovely quiet location. The room was very large, clean, well furnished and extremley comfortable. The staff were fantastic, couldn't do enough for you and were very cheeful and obliging. The food was excellent making our stay a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Overall one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in.

Room was missing a hair dryer

St Mary’s Inn was wonderful. The accommodation was modern, new, clean and really impressive. I was travelling with my mum who is disabled and the accessible facilities were the best we’ve seen - the bathroom in particular was really well kitted out. Plenty of seating downstairs for drinks or dinner, food was amazing and staff were top notch. Could not recommend highly enough. And electric car chargers as well!
