This hotel with it‘s balcony and amazing views of the lake and mountains (room 102) will stay in our hearts forever. Ms. Leifer was the very kind owner, and told us a lot about the history of the area and her family owning the property for hundreds of years. She went out of her way to make us feel like part of the family. We had a locked room to store our bicycles and a washing machine for guests. The family has a private dock/swimming area just across the street, and lots of swimming towels, boards, and toys we could use. After a hot day of cycling, a dip in that gorgeous lake was just what we needed. We were greeted with free snacks and delicous chocolate cake slices. Afterwards, we went for a walk in town (5-7 minute walk). It was the cutest Austrian old town we‘ve seen, with many narrow passageways and beautiful old buildings. After our sightseeing tour, we picked up supplies at the tiny grocery store and headed home. Our room was actually an apartment with a kitchenette, so we fixed our charcuterie board and had a lovely dinner on the balcony with some good local Austrian wine as the sun was setting. Perfection. The large historical room had lots of nice touches, with good bedding and plenty of storage. While the property doesn‘t offer breakfast officially, they do offer a bread service, which was very convenient. Also down in the pretty common area was complimentary spreads and butter for the bread, and coffee for a small fee. This was more than enough breakfast for us, and the best part was being able to spend a little more time on that glorious balcony. We could have stayed for a week. Many, many thanks to the Familie Leifer for their kindness and hospitality. You live in a little slice of heaven.

The communication before arrival was fantastic with details of how to check in and collect keys, but one of the owners was there to hand these over in person. The lake views are simply stunning and the location is fantastic for using the ferries and the Schaffbergbahn. It is a pleasant 10 minute walk to get to the main town square. The room was large, comfortable and with self catering facilities. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again - exceptional value. They offer a breakfast/bread delivery service and an honesty bar.

I know St Wolfgang exceptionally well having lived there for 3 summers and the Leifer Apartments exceeded my expectations. I don't think I have anything negative to say.

Our stay at Seehaus Familie Leifer was absolutely wonderful. The view over the lake was breathtaking, and the whole design of the room and building felt unique and inviting – high ceilings, beautiful details, and a cozy retro atmosphere that makes you want to come back. We especially loved the private swimming area – such a rare and special experience that made our stay even more memorable. Everything was spotless and well cared for. The only thing that didn’t quite suit us was the bed – it was very soft, and since we’re used to sleeping on firmer mattresses, it wasn’t the most comfortable night’s sleep for us personally.

The view from this village and the hotel is absolutely legendary! And this hotel doesn’t even need paintings on the wall — the view outside is the real masterpiece. No artwork can compare to the living landscape right outside the window — it’s more vivid and breathtaking than any still painting! They even have a grand piano by the lake, which means you can play music and enjoy the breathtaking scenery at the same time — how magical is that! I loved it so much I almost cried from happiness. I left a message asking if they could arrange a room with a beautiful view, like the one I saw in the comment section — and they really did it for me! My room was No.101. The day I checked in was sunny, and the landscape was even more gorgeous than what I had seen online. They also have a private dock! We can go kayaking (they provide single plastic kayaks with paddles), swing by the lakeside, swim, or just lie on a sun lounger, feeling the breeze and getting lost in the view.I wore a life jacket and spent the whole afternoon kayaking — I paddled all the way to the other side of the lake and beneath the church. It was absolutely unforgettable! And what’s more — if I ever come again (and I definitely will), I’ll choose this place without a second thought! Btw，there’s a kitchen in the room, which is perfect for a long-term stay! And just next to the hotel, there’s a lovely restaurant where you can taste fresh fish from the lake while enjoying the stunning view.）

We enjoyed the view, the silence, the communal lobby, the modern interior, the low budget breakfast buns and croissants that we were supplied with easily and contactless. We were thankful for all the (e.g. cooking) utensils and equipment that we had found in the apartment. Drained of power after some long walks through the dazzling landscapes of Salzkammergut we also felt really lucky to get to use not only the parking area directly behind the building, but also an elevator to get to our cozy hideout.

There is not much left to say about the facts except that the two parts of our bed tended to move apart which maybe made our time sleeping a bit uncomfortable, but I couldn’t say it kept us from experiencing a calming stay in any way.

This was my second stay at Seehaus Familie Leifer, and it felt just as peaceful and comforting as my first visit back in November 2023. The moment I arrived, I was reminded why I fell in love with this place—the serene atmosphere, the warmth of the surroundings, and the sense of calm it brings. Everything was spotless, just like my previous stay, which gave me such a reassuring sense of familiarity. The kitchen had everything I needed to prepare simple meals, adding to the feeling of being right at home. I truly cherish my time here and would love to return again.

I had a fantastic stay at Seehaus Familie Leifer! The location is absolutely amazing, offering breathtaking views of the Alps and the lake—truly a sight to wake up to every morning. The location is perfect. From the window we can directly see the peaceful, beautiful lake and the fairytale-like mountain on the other side of the lake. Even laying in the bed, you can still see the scenery. We arrive when it was full moon, in the evening we turn off the light and enjoy the moonlight - both from the real moon in the sky, and the reflected moon in the lake. It also provides free boats in its own small port. A dreamy stay.

The room is a little bit hot. So keeping the window open will be a good option for you!

We loved everything about this accommodation. We (a couple) had the apartment with lake view on the second floor which had a generously sized furnished balcony that we enjoyed sitting out on overlooking the spectacular mountain and lake scenery. Everything was clean and comfortable and we particularly appreciated the provision of the courtesy 7 gear bikes that we cycled around the lake on. The private bathing area was also a bonus, and we enjoyed bathing in the lake there - there is even some boating craft provided for guests' use if desired. Oher equipment provided that we did not use were gym and laundry facilities, and there is a daily breakfast breads delivery service available if required. The location is ideal, just a ten minute stroll into the centre of town but enough of a distance to provide peace and quiet - it is also just a couple of blocks away from the schafbergbahn - cog railway - terminus (housing the recommended EQ restaurant) and the Schifffahrt - Wolfgangsee lake ferryboat - landing dock. The landing dock of the smaller cross-lake ferry over to Abersee is literally just across the road from the accommodation also. Host Magdalena and her staff are exceptionally pleasant, friendly and helpful, and we would not hesitate in re-booking here should we return to St. Wolfgang in the future.

Maybe a picture in the interior to soften the bare walls would be welcome - but this is splitting hairs.

Very comfortable and warm apartment. Walking distance from St Wolfgang and views over the lake. In the ground floor there is a big living room, nice for reading, playing board games or just having a tea. They offer some little breakfast but I can't comment because we didn't enjoy it as we had other plans.

The door of the bathroom was so heavy that you cannot leave it open for ventilation. The roof of our apartment was a bit low in some areas, not ideal for tall people ;)
