Great location. Walking distance to town and all shops. Friendly staff.

Description is a bit misleading as there is no kitchen. Just toaster and cattle, and fridge.

Dan was a lovely host. He promptly answered questions online with helpful info about the island. We really appreciated knowing the cost of taking the bus to/from airport (300) and around town (200). He hosts events like trivia on Wednesday. When the microwave broke in our room, he replaced it as soon as could with another one. The location is about a 15 minute walk from town and the markets. The retreat is in a neighborhood called seaside which gives a nice local feel. Thanks for a great stay. We recommend this spot for a nice room, good location and lovely host.

No access to water but a lovely view of the lagoon

Spacious, room was good, had a great water view and comfortable bed, great showers and soaps provided were fantastic. Pool is awesome and wifi is decent in the restaurant areas.

Wish there was a rubbish bin in the room and that the kitchen had a hot plate. Also would be great if the wifi reached the rooms. Otherwise a great stay!

We loved our stay at Retreat Seaside, made especially good by Dan. He was incredibly welcoming and friendly, and was always on hand for recommendations and help when needed. Our first room was quite small with no windows but when we checked in Dan mentioned he would be moving us to a better room once the current occupants left, which he did and the second room was much better. Bed was very comfy, the property was always clean and all the staff were really friendly. There’s a fridge, kettle, microwave and toaster for guests to use which was great for us on a budget who were trying to avoid eating out for every meal.

The bar is a little expensive compared to others in the area, it could be good to offer discounts for people staying there as it’s used a lot by locals too. Some sun loungers by the pool would also be quite good

Upon check-in, your room had a welcome pack of water, coffee, tea, cereal, all of which made for a great first impression. The pool was great, had different colour lights and remained open 24/7, so midnight swim was always an option. The bar served a variety of food and alcohol options in the evenings, that were decent value for money. I was there during a pretry quiet time, so was invited into town with the owner which was expected, but very much appreciated! Also, the bar area closed at 23:00, but I was here during the World Cup Final. I asked if the remote could be left out so I could use the TV at 02:00 and it was left out as promised, which was great because that was one hell of a final!

There is no reception desk so when I arrived, at first it felt like I was in the wrong place, but this is a minor issue. There are things to do in Port Vila but they are not very well advertised. Some of things I did were by accident or pure luck. Having loads of leaflets about what's available, or increasing staff knowledge so they could make suggestions would be an added bonus i.e. recommending the waterfalls or the underwater post box, which is such a unique feature. I think in this day and age wifi is very important, so the signal needs to be much stronger in the rooms.

You will find a basket with peanuts, snacks, cereals, jams and milk in the room - very impressive. Showers are very nice. The location is quite good: 1 km from town. Unfortunately there is a hill between this place and town :) Water in the swimming pool is quite cold. The view is beautiful. This place is above the lagoon. This place has a bar, but they close early, before 10 pm, so the noise from the bar will not disturb you at night. The transport in Port Vila is excellent, 150 vatu wherever you say, even to this place or airport, by shared minivan.

Love the location, love our room, so private, the bar n restaurant and the pool is so handy, the view from the pool and restaurant area is an additional bonus...

Coffee/tea part was not replenished but not a biggy, that is something we can provide it ourselves if we have known ahead , No fresh towels, we had to use the same towels for our entire stay. However we saw the notice in the bar on our last day stating that towels cost $ for rent...perhaps put the sign in the rooms, we would have rented some towels which won't be a big deal for us. It's the not knowing what to expect, otherwise, we definitely will stay here again...

Laid back place with great music food and hosts. Fun place with locals as well as travelers. Pool was always clean. Convenient location to shops and food markets. The open air produce market across the road has fantastic. fresh fruits and vegetables. Buying fresh papaya for 100 vt is just perfect. Dan and his wife along with a staff that is always willing to fill a request. Great people great place and great food. Thanks Dan for all the free local advice. Cheers!

Great price an staff friendly

Lighting in room could have been better - main light and side lamp not very warm (on the white light side) and bedside lamp could be changed to a bedside lamp rather than desk lamp

The studio is really big, the internet in rooms is great, especially for Vanuatu, hot showers, the complimentary welcome package was a nice touch.The location is close to the shops and places to eat in Port Vila. For the beach, you have to go to the other resorts, but we knew that.Great selection of movies to watch on the TV. Actually, it is not a real TV, but more like in-flight media entertainment.Even better and highly appreciated on a rainy day.

The bar is just in front of the room and can be very loud. It looks like it is a very popular place among the expats, so you can never be lonely or bored if you travel solo. The good thing is, the music stops around 11 pm, so it was bearable.
