Our room at this motel was affordable, clean and comfortable. After booking, I read some reviews that had me second guessing my decision. It definitely exceeded my low expectations. Sure, the decor is a bit dated (which I don't mind) It is an older motel, with some quirks, but our room had a flat screen T.V., air conditioning, microwave, bar fridge and a kettle. The location is excellent for exploring Niagara, very central to everything. I was impressed by the cleanliness. The sheets and towels were good. Bed was comfy. It was quiet. Overall, the motel and grounds appear to be well maintained. Patel, who checked us in was lovely. Just be aware that they require a cash damage deposit of $150, which you will get back at check-out. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Hipwell's again.

The a/c worked fine, but gave the room a bit of a musty smell. Didn't use it overnight as it was cool enough sleeping with screened windows open.

This motel stay is great value! Our stay was comfortable, the motel room had plenty of space, and the property has a fantastic location in the Niagara region. The property manager, Ms Patel is wonderful and helpful, she accommodated our late check-in and was really kind. The room we had was equipped with a flat screen TV and everything in there was in proper working order and well maintained. We will definitely return to stay here to explore more spots around Niagara. Just make sure to carry the cash deposit when you check-in.

This was probably the cleanest motel we've ever stayed in, and the owners are super friendly and accommodating. New TV's, clean microwave and refrigerator, good working heat & A/C, and a good bed all made our stay very comfortable. The location is convenient and Fonthill is a great place. We were able to travel to Niagara Falls, Toronto, and Port Colbourn easily from here on larger roads. Staff were honest and hard working. Our room was cleaned perfectly every day of our stay, and they even left the cash tips on the bed until I told them it was meant for them. I also had some other cash in plain sight and no one disturbed it.

Water pressure is a bit low, and the toilet area is a tight fit for American-sized people like me. The motel is basic and a bit dated. But honestly, it's very clean, in a very safe area, and the owners are wonderful. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good value.

We enjoyed the clear communication of expectations. We appreciated that our dogs were comfortable and this made it so that we were able to be comfortable and actually get some much needed rest on the road. If you are looking for a no nonsense motel where you will only be bothered when the considerate owner is asking if you need anything, this is the place to be.

We didn't like that the building itself was dated. The shower in the washroom was quite small. Though the rooms could use work, we did not feel like the room was unclean.

The location is quiet, with wineries & countryside all-around. Close to town- it's a home away from home. Extremely pleasant staff, kind, very helpful & knowledgeable of their area. Always smiling. Our kitchenette was kept stocked, the beds were extremely comfortable. My husband slept in, until10am! He's always up @6am. I appreciated the hot shower, cleanliness & comfort of our room. Thank you. We will share our positive experience with family and friends ❤️.

Kumud is a very nice lady who is very patient and enjoys living at the motel. It’s a family that owns it and they’ve been living there for 5 years and keeps the place very clean. They give the deposit back, they keep cash because their POS system charges them to take a deposit. They gave it back without any problems

Toilet was almost hidden the area was way too small . The room was overcrowded with too much furniture . Asked for wheelchair accessible and they gave me a room that had an obstructed entrance when I looked around there were rooms that had the car parked right in front . There was grass and then a wood trim that I would have had to somehow get over...my husband had to get me to room using my walker cause I can't walk on uneven spaces . We were stuck for a room at this point so we had to do with what we had

Our stay at Hipwell's motel was very pleasant. It is in a quite town very close to Niagara fall (30 minute) and Toronto(90 minute). The care takers Chris and his wife are very nice and welcoming. The room was big enough for our family of four. We would definitely recommend anyone visiting Niagara fall.

We liked everything. The only feedback we have is the wifi could have been bit stronger.

Staff/owners were very accommodating and conscious of everyone's level of comfort with current COVID situations. The room was cozy and adjustable in heat and coolness.

There was no iron. I don't use them all the time, but this trip was for a wedding - which this Hotel is only 14 min from the Roma Club. It would have been great to use a steamer or iron. Not a lot of current information on what is available locally in terms of seeing, doing, eating. Also, there was no way to tell on their webpage when the pool opened, which was not in last week of June.

The owners are very friendly and accommodating. The motel is a bargain compared to the prices in Niagara Falls. The mattress was very comfortable and the room was clean The fridge and microwave and kettle are very handy.

The taps in the shower are individual and don’t regulate the temperature of the water very well if someone else is using water.
