We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location is excellent: right by the harbour, which is perfect for catching the boat to Cinque Terre. The train station is also within walking distance. Parking is available in a nearby garage (paid), which wasn’t an issue for us. The room was a real highlight – spotlessly clean, beautifully finished, and with a luxurious, elegant feel. Everything looked very high-end and well taken care of. We were also warmly welcomed by a very kind lady who provided clear instructions for check-in, even when the front desk was temporarily unattended. All in all, a thoughtfully run hotel where you feel immediately at home. We would definitely stay here again!

Via Chiodo stole our hearts forever. Such a magical place to stay while exploring the Liguria region. The location is absolutely amazing and perfect situated, just a minute walk the main street of La Spezia. The room was cleaned every day, and the cleaner took care of every detail in the room. Michaela, always received us at the reception with a smile on her face, gave us the best tips and really touch our hearts with her kindness. It was a choice we will never regret, and we will always have Via Chiodo in our hearts, and our mind for future trips in the area. Thank you for everything Michaela!

Spacious room, cleanliness, Location

Paid luggage storage facility and it is for limited time only. Only for 3 hours. Although luggage storage is included and written in services clearly.

Very nice room, clean and comfortable bed. The staff were so nice and welcoming, invited to nice talk’s.

A kettle to heat water would been nice, not everybody drinks coffee. Would also bee nice to have somewhere to sit in the room expect from the bed. A small sofa or similar with a coffee table should bee a lift for the room. The small fridge that was in the dom smelled badly, I would not have put anything in that.

The staff were professional and friendly. I think we were welcomed by Michela, if my memory serves me right. She was an exceptional receptionist! Always happy to help. She even gave us a rundown of how we would need to access the ferries to go to Portofino and The Cinque Terre. At the end, she even greeted us in Afrikaans. (I am South African) I was really impressed. It's the little things that can make a stay wonderful! All of our needs were met in terms of the look and feel of the accommodation. The rooms were cleaned every day. Definitely a place I already miss and will return to if I travel to Italy again.

Honestly, I cannot fault them on anything. It's a central place so you can easily reach pharmacies, restaurants, the metro etc.

The rooms were in a good location for us - we walked about 15 mins to the train every day to visit Cinque Terre. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Good air conditioning. It was easy access, elevator to take the bags up, easy check in and check out and clean modern room. It suited our stay.

Everything was fine for our stay - I just didn't personally like that the bathroom had a clear door as it doesn't offer much privacy. Other than that it was perfect for our stay.

Please be aware that the clasic double room (not standard room, not king/superior room) does not show accurate photos of the bathroom. The bathroom is way smaller than in photos, the shower is smaller and also the sink is very very small, not even space to deposit the hand soap ( see photos of the real bathroom). When I contacted the property with this matter, they gaslighted me telling me that I have booked a classic and those photos are for superior room, even though they have uploaded inaccurate photos for the room.

Location was excellent exceeding expectations. Right on the foreshore close to ferries and excellent restaurants. Very comfortable bed and strong security in building

Staff availability restricted and is inconvenient for travellers arriving between noon and 4pm. The old style lift is very slow and limited in space Some design elements of the room were poor. Eg air con vent positioned behind window curtain which when closed affected performance

Very happy with our choice to stay at via chiodo. Finding the property and check in was very simple. The room was very spacious and clean. It was the perfect stay for us to get out to cinque terra everyday with a 15 minute walk to the train with lots of nice bars and restaurants along the way. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely love to come back in the future.

Apartment was in a good location and Mikeala on reception was so lovely and very helpful for any local information. Rooms were very spacious and spotlessly clean with maid service, very central to amazing restaurants (Cafe Giobatta, excellent home made pasta dishes and cakes) and the ferry service to Cinque Terre

The apartments are on the 3rd floor of an apartment block. The front door from the pavement is shared for the whole block and not an obvious find with just a small sign on the door plate. The shared lobby and stairs were quite tired and scruffy but once through the apartments’ reception door it was lovely inside
