We had a very late flight and arrived at 3am, but hotel wee fine with that - overnight staff checked us in. Nice pair of four posters a very welcoming sight. Really well located in the old town in a lovely heritage building. Short walk tot he Mandovi river casinos if that's your thing, or old town shopping also just 5-10 mins walk away. Had a street-side room but no problems with street noise. They hardly mention that there's a plunge pool on the roof, but it's there and free to use and great after a long day. It's not heated but doesn't need to be (November). Major highlight for us was that they agreed to let me into the kitchen to learn how to make a curry (I requested vindaloo). Very accommodating of chef Birju and his team. Naturally, the best vindaloo I've ever eaten! Balcony restaurant is a nice place for sundowner or to eat dinner.

The building, the ambience, the decor…nice old world charm. Didn’t feel like a typical boring hotel. Location is superb and it’s clean.

Couple of issues - the breakfast was very average. Hard idlis, badly cooked eggs…so wouldn’t recommend it for the food. Another issue was both my mother and my mother in law, who are senior senior citizens, were thankfully accommodated in the ground floor rooms (there are no lifts), but the beds in those rooms are so high (old style four poster beds) that it was difficult for them to get on and off. The stool to help get into the bed felt very dangerous to use at their age. So since the ground floor would usually be suitable for older people, they should change their beds to lower ones.

The staff in the reception and breakfast room manager were efficient and friendly, and spoke excellent English. The complimentart breakfast was good with plenty of choice. The spacious bedroom with the 4 poster bed was very comfy and spotlessly clean. The gallery of the hotel was interesting with some exceptional art work. The location of the hotel suited us perfectly for exploring the Latin Quarter. The hotel management were very accomodating in allowing us to leave our suitcase prior to booking in, and also after booking out. This was much appreciated. If we come to stay in Panjim again, we will definitely stay at this hotel.

The Panjim Inn offers a well-rounded and amazing stay with a good complimentary breakfast buffet. Apart from this they are extremely hospitable and helpful. I had a mental breakdown due to some personal reasons while staying there but the staff were extremely professional, polite, understanding and humane in the way that they communicated with me and dealt with my family members. At no point did we feel unwelcome despite the inconvenience that I had caused. The neighbourhood is a quiet and peaceful area, very near everything and very comfy.

Beautifully furnished heritage hotel in the traditional Portuguese Fontainhas area of Panjim. The room was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was good with a range of continental and Indian options.

The payment arrangements meant that I ended up paying 20 per cent more than the price on my booking. I booked a non-refundable room and was asked to pay the total amount by bank transfer a few weeks beforehand. I did this and paid the UK bank charges, but the Indian bank charges were then also deducted from my full payment meaning that I had more to pay when I arrived. These additional bank charges are not made clear at the time of booking.

Interesting heritage building, quaint furnishings, good breakfast.

Furniture was dusty, bathroom could do with an update. We asked the front desk staff to book us a car to take us to Palolem and was told there was no need as there were always plenty of cabs outside the hotel. We were surprised at this as every other hotel we stayed in in India had been happy to do this for us. Sure enough, when we left there was only one vehicle available, a rust bucket whose driver overcharged us. Not impressed by the lack of customer service.

The Portuguese look and feel of the hotel is wonderful. It really transports the guest to the older times. Restaurant is excellent. Location is also very good.

The wi-fi did not work properly and for 2 days I had to do without it. Mattress can be better.

Accommodation has historical charm, it invites you into old colonial Portugese home. I had been kindly upgraded and room was clean with wooden classic furniture. The room has all basic facilities. Breakfast was good, of what you expect from b&b. Staff in the property were helpful and polite. Location of this property is good, particularly if you want to explore Latin quarter with lots of cafe and restaurants at walking distance. If you come with understanding that property is old, here to give historical experience then your expectations will be matched.

At night on Saturday there were noisy ladies and I tried to call down to reception to complain but phone didn't work. I found tv had little tuned in channels but reception came to help. I think some wholemeal and healthy options for breakfast would be good for people who need to need low carb and healthier diet. In room security box didn't work, so bit of maintenance check before guests check would be good. Personally found bed hard, for others it might be fine.

Nice restaurant and a character property. The deluxe room was very comfortable and well appointed.

For my first two nights, I was in a standard room which was fine. Very charming and in the older part of the building, however a little small if it was for two people and the bathroom needed updating. A few less moth repellent balls would have been welcome as well!

The perfect location in Fontainhas and friendly and willing reception staff are the strong points of this hotel.

We gradually got used to the strong smell of mothballs on the ground floor and the dark restaurant interior. Even the eagle eyed owner at the entrance became less intimidating as time went on. However, we missed having proper coffee and were surprised that a hotel at this price point did not have a coffee machine at breakfast, preferring instead to offer guests a jar of Nescafé.
