The breakfast was wonderful. The location was great. The staff was very friendly.
We had a problem with the room we were assigned. The pull out sofa bed was wet. The staff was not sure they had another room to move us to, but found once which was very nice. We had to request that something be done for the room issue. Breakfast vouchers were given and we were very appreciative of that but should not have had to ask for something to be done, that should have been done automatically in our opinion. Manager tried calling a day or two later, but we missed the call. We called back and left a voicemail asking her to call us, but never heard back.

I enjoyed the history of the Blackburn Inn and conference center. I was impressed by the staircase that led to the roof and to be able to see the surrounding areas from the roof The bathroom was very modern in design which did not take away from the history. I was impressed with the design on the website which led to picking this property for a get together with my family. There is a Bristol Café, which I enjoyed the next morning before leaving for home. The Bristol Café was also included in the website design.
I enjoyed the modern bathroom, the staircase leading up to the roof to overlook scenery. I also enjoy the Café which offered a keto diet, which was impressive.

Very high quality linens and towels. Comfortable bed. Easy parking. Lovely location. Beautiful grounds. Lots of seating areas spread through a stunning historic building. Spacious and comfortable bathroom. Lots of windows. Very clean. Do check out the spiral stairs on the top floor.
Restaurant was fine but nothing exciting. Service was great but bring cash to tip as there was no easy way to add a tip to the bill. In room coffee was a Keurig with a weak pod, no coffee additions and no tea option. Room was a bit of an odd shape but a creative reuse of an old building sort of limited the options.

The front desk employee, Amber, was awesome and so welcoming and told us cool stories about the property which I absolutely loved since that was mainly why we stayed there — for the history! Our room was so big, such a comfy bed, amazing shower/large bathroom, and the property and the hotel building itself was absolutely amazing to walk around. I highly recommend this place! Not to mention, close to delicious food like cute retro restaurants like Wright’s Dairy-Rite, Kathy’s and downtown Staunton things like Redbeard, Cider’s from Mars, Reunion Bakery, and more.

The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The facility was just as gorgeous as the pictures, if not better. The rooms and bathrooms were beautiful, spacious, and clean, and we had such a charming view. We stayed here during our trip to Shenandoah NP since it was so close to the park entrance, so it was wonderful to hike all day and then come back to such a comfy bed each night.
They could add better signage to indicate their parking, leading to where to check in with the front desk, as it was a little challenging for us to find for our first time. We also had a little sugar ant issue in the room but we had no food, so I assume that was mostly from the age of the room/ building.

Really neat place with a lot of character due to it's old nature. The staircase to the observation area was very fun to traverse. Enjoy and had no issues with the rain shower. The receptionist at the time was actually very receptive and gave us a bunch of fun tips about the city since we had not been there. Seemingly like a fan of where she lived, not as a mandatory requirement.
Only issue was that we are on the basement near the stairs and afterward realized that our area was very exposed to transferring our own noises. We intended on a romantic getaway and we succeeded. However, afterward we were slightly embarrassed of what others might have heard.

Beautiful property with a unique history! We loved how dog friendly it was, and how everyone was so kind to our pup. Our room was spacious and I adored the soaking tub. Walkable to the town. Great parking! I highly recommend.
Beds were too soft for my taste, and wish they had an option besides a queen (felt a little too cozy for me and my partner and our pup). Also, we asked for our linens to be changed once, and the housekeeping forgot to, which was kind of a bummer. Staff were great in providing linens though, but we did wish we had a room cleaning.

Beautiful surroundings and quiet place to get the day going. The staff at the reception desk made you feel like a very important person --they accommodated our check in even though we arrived early and gave us information about the sites to see in town.
The lady that took care of breakfast did a good job, She was handling it all by herself including cooking, serving and managing the payments. I would have liked to have seen a few smaller pastry items like muffins on the menu for those who don't like a larger breakfast.

We had a nice room with enough space for our short time in the space. The location was great for walking into town for the Repertory Weekend at the Shakespeare Center, and the weather made that a perfect choice for us.
The restaurant and bar closes at 8 PM on weekend nights, which wasn't helpful/useful for us. The breakfast offerings were unusually unappealing- no pancakes, French toast or waffles for those of us who don't like eggs? We opted out. Bathroom design with glass doors and a 75% wall was....weird.

The facility is beautiful, and intriguing too - I'm glad you're restoring this location! Our room was under the stairs and close to reception, which we could hear day and night - that's my only complaint. The room was attractive, comfortable and nicely refitted. The building is well kept and very attractive. We had breakfast there, which was very good indeed. I would be glad to stay here again. (My husband and I remember it as a prison - this is so much better!)
We were too close to reception, which is a necessarily noisy area next to the big staircase, so sound echoes. I slept in earplugs. But that's the only thing!
