We had to rent two cabins - one with bunks and one single studio to fit our family of 5 as other options were booked out. That worked well as we could use the facilities in the studio for our whole family. Kids loved the pool - only complaint was it wasn't open later at night. Overall, pretty clean and tidy options. All walkable to Whakatane centre via walkway, gardens, or nearby streets. Nice environment. No rowdy evenings or super early starts from nearby campers.

Curtains a bit small for windows in studio. Not a major, but something slightly bigger would be better keeping out light and for privacy. A shelf and some more hooks in the bathroom would be great as not much space to put items / clothes when showering. TV would make much more sense in corner opposite bed. Can't view it from the bed easily at all as it is currently. While there was a note to bring bedding for bunks unit, there was nothing about the studio. One night was colder, and a thicker blanket would have been great. Kitchen facilities next to bunk units could do with a spruce up. Bunk unit would benefit from a heat pump rather than a loud fan that only circulates the warm air. Had to leave door open at night to stay comfortable.

Staff were super friendly Right along the riverside and located close to town Had usual amenities that holiday parks have plus push carts Was easy to check in after hours Plenty of beds in cabin Even though we just used it to sleep overnight, it was nice hearing the campsite lively (but controlled) and everyone enjoying themselves Laundry room

Shower was small and the larger people in our cabin said the shower curtain kept sticking to them when showering and causing water to go everywhere. The shared showers had doors instead of curtains that they could’ve used instead though. One of the beds were uncomfortable (kept sinking into the middle) and the bunks were like sleeping directly on wood

I absolutely loved the location, spacious, vibrant, quiet, clean and tidy outdoors, close to town. Lovely receptionist, she was so welcoming and helpful. Lots of fun things for my children to do, they were absolutely pleased with their stay which can be difficult to accomplish and even though our stay was short I could easily stay for a month. My family and I will be returning for a summer vacay.

The amenities in our cabin were not replenished (i.e. hand soap dispenser, no laundry bag)

The beds was a bit flimsy in the cabin rooms but managed to suck it up and still had a ok sleep haha and the attached shared kitchen is great apart from the bugs creeping around in there at night 😅 still enjoyed our time and like I said definitely will be back 😁

The bouncy, the pool, friendly guests, easy to find, close to amenities.

I booked 2 lodgings(for 7 of us at the time of booking). The family room had what we needed (4 beds) The other room I booked had no blankets (2 bunk beds). We did pick up an Xtra child on the way and they were happy to accommodate We weren't aware we had to bring blankets for that room tho.

We were a whanau of 4 adults and one infant and stayed in a cabin for four. The Infant slept with her mother in a single bed, so all 4 adults slept comfortably. And the cabin was well appointed, clean, dry and warm. Our stay was an A+ experience.

The cabin construction contained too much metal content for my liking, some noises were loud or ringing a little over a comfortable level.

What a lovely place to spend some weekend away time, facilities were top notch and the grounds were a joy including surrounding gardens and parks. The laughter from the children at the camp was a sure sign that I would definitely return with my own grandchildren in the near future.

Nothing to fault except I wished I could stay longer.

The size of our twin unit was perfect for our whanau. Loved that it was clean and new and super warm. We arrived late travelling from Auckland so it was awesome that Macy had arranged a key, map and details for us to check in after hours. There was excellent customer service and comms over phonecall and text prior to our arrival. All of my queries were answered promptly as well. Would highly recommend and would definately return again. My son was a little restless and upset during the night and I loved that there was also a little space between the units so as not to disturb other tenants.

There was nothing we didn’t like only feedback would be to have a sign on corner of street pointing to the direction of the Holiday Park as we turned right down the opposite end and came back down the street.

Staff was very friendly/helpful location was very handy for us as we had a function to attend in town so not far to travel also had alot of space for our family and we ended up with connecting rooms was awesome 😀

Happy with everything although maybe a fresh touch up of paint in ablution block but was fine

We liked the clean, warm, spacious rooms and well equipped kitchen. The location is excellent and all the information is well presented, helpful, and easy to follow.

If I'm being picky, another comfortable chair would be great or an L shaped type of lounge suite - one couch for 4 adults was not ideal. A clothes iron would have been appreciated too - but we'll just bring a fold out chair and an iron next time. The price is so good and the accommodation so comfortable these issues are not major!
