The location, the view was perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean.

The blinds needed to be replaced, they are difficult to operate and dirty, and we used them quite a bit, the window sills were dirty, and the windows hard to open and close. It seems that area wasn't noticed by the room attendants much, but definitely the guests notice because of the view and the number of people walking by. It would also be a nice touch to have staff bring coffee for the coffee maker and cups by at some point, we stayed 2 nights and had to go to the front desk for some early the next morning.

We just stayed at Cottage Inn by the Sea in Pismo for the second time, and it was just as amazing as we remembered. The hotel is peaceful, super clean, and the rooms are spacious. Trish, the manager, is phenomenal—so kind and accommodating. The staff is friendly, especially Tyler at the front desk. We loved the early check-in/late check-out option, which is great for families. The bistro is gorgeous—elegant with a cozy fireplace. The location is perfect, with breathtaking ocean views. Beach access requires a short walk, but it’s totally worth it. This is officially our go-to hotel in Pismo!

The room was spacious and clean, and we were very comfortable there for the two nights we stayed. The little pool was a nice surprise, and the location overlooking the ocean, with outdoor seating and fire pits were great touches. I had thought we would be closer to town, and although we ended up driving in both days, we concluded that we were probably better just on the outskirts anyway, given it's a busy place!

I didn't quite grasp how big Pismo was prior to visiting, and also how it is laid out. I didn't quite expect the hotel to be right by the highway, and on a cliff rather than on the beach. We had been travelling by car a lot, and had been looking forward to walking most places, but given the distance into town we opted to drive each day to make the most of our time.

We absolutely loved the access to the beach (and then having a jacuzzi to jump into after!) and the views from the courtyard at sunset were so beautiful! The best thing was being able to sit around the firepit and roast some s'mores - as an Aussie, I'd never had one so thank you also for providing s'more kits at reception, that was so special for me!

This is more of a general issue with most hotels in the United States, but some options to cast streaming apps to the tv would be great - i.e google chromecasts or something, not overly expensive to outfit rooms with but would probably really be appreciated by guests instead of just having to pick a random channel on live tv.

We were very impressed with the Cottage by the Sea in Pismo Beach! The setting is beautiful. Behind the pool area is a very nice succulent garden with two large fire pits and sets of chairs in different locations overlooking the ocean and beautiful coastline!!!! There is a walkway- steps going down to the ocean that you pick up right behind the 3 hotels that are in a row facing the ocean. The location of the hotel is excellent- close to the other nearby cities. The two queen bed room was spacious-just as pictured on the website. The fireplace quickly warms the room and the microwave and mini refrigerator are very useful. The room was clean and neat. The towels were much improved compared to other hotel towels- a little softer and much larger bath towels.

The lights that light up the bathroom mirror need to be brighter for women putting on make-up. The toilet in the not yet upgraded rooms is way too low. A breakfast would be a great addition to this wonderful hotel.

Location was great. The inn was beach front, with a 5 minutes walk down to the beach. The beach is quite empty which was nice to take a stroll, relax, take pictures, let the kids play without worrying about many travelers nearby. Located by downtown where bars and food options are readily available.

Breakfast included would be a plus. Just some muffins or bagels or even coffee would put the cherry on top. The fire pit does close at 10pm, while the neighboring hotel's fire pits stayed on later. The kids took forever to get out there, and we only had 15 minutes to enjoy some smores since 1 of the fire pit was broken, and the other 2 were full.

Our family felt very comfortable and safe with our stay. The temperature in the room was perfect! We didn't even need to adjust the temperature unit. The complex as a whole felt very accessible to everything. The pool, parking, lobby, resting area with fire pits, the ocean, restaurants and other stores were very much close by!! The Location truly was excellent and very convenient for a family with kids or without kids. Our room did not have a view but the spectacular view was mere steps away. The pool, hot tub, fire pit with chairs and easy access to the beach made our stay such a memorable and relaxing one! Hope to come back soon!

The staff could have been more clear about food charges specifically the prices of drinks and smores bundle. I requested for more towels but was alone with my six yr old son who just got out of the shower (my daughters left to pick up snacks at a grocery store). After telling the staff member my situation, they still said it's better to come to lobby and pick up. I would have appreciated that they offer to bring the towels to me. As spacious and gorgeous our room was, we could hear every flush from upstairs and every door opening next door. Not sure if that could be or is worth mending. Perhaps a breakfast option like the hotels next door would make Cottage Inn more competitive with nearby hotels.

We loved our room with the fireplace! It was clean, roomy, and charming. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The staff was great, especially the male employee at the front office. He was so accommodating and did his best to try and meet our needs, and it was done with the best attitude.

Would be great to have more of a full breakfast available. Also, it was a bit disappointing the pool area was so small you couldn't lay out there. I had envisioned being poolside relaxing and soaking up some sun.

This is my favorite place to stay when we visit Pismo Beach. I love the oceanfront rooms with a patio so I can just walk out the patio door and the ocean is right there. We can watch the beautiful sunsets from the comfort of our room. I also love to sit around the firepits in the morning and before going in for the night. The pool and hot tub are always clean and inviting. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. I had a problem with my booking this time that was no fault of the property. I was extremely upset about it and once the person helping us Janice heard my reasons she went above and beyond to resolve the issues and make our stay extremely comfortable and exactly what I was hoping for. I highly recommend Cottage Inn by the Sea to anyone wanting a great place to stay.
