Our room was spacious, comfortable, and had a small balcony and basic kitchen facilities. We had to ask at Reception for a kettle, but this was readily supplied. We had breakfast on a couple of days and this was good value, with plenty of variety of both hot and cold food. Some of the "hot" dishes were rather luke-warm, but could easily be re-heated using the microwave which was readily available. The location of the hotel is superb - close to the beach and harbour, and many excellent bars and restaurants,

As our room was on the side of the hotel which faces on to the restaurant next-door, we suffered from excess noise from the restaurant's live entertainment in the evenings - not a huge inconvenience, as we knew it would stop at midnight, thanks to the strict Canarian noise regulations!

Tropical is an old classic Canarian hotel. The beds are a bit lumpy and the pillows and blankets could be replaced with new ones but for the price you can not expect Hilton. The cleaning service is excellent! Unfortunately, some rooms occasionally have a cockroach problem but the cleaners and the caretaker do all they can to keep them at bay. This is a problem all over Spain. I saw no other bugs and no roaches in my room. I requested top floor and I think I got the nicest room in the hotel with wonderful wives over Puerto, you can even see the sea roll in and if you’re lucky; green parrots in the palm trees. I had the best breakfasts in the big balcony but in the evenings the northwestern wind made it rather chilly that high up. ( March ) I imagine the rooms at the back might be a bit grotty but quiet. The music from the plaza café is only between 21 - 00 and a good pair of earplugs will do the trick if you want an early night. Otherwise I found the buzz from the plaza relaxing and the bird song beautiful. The location couldn’t be better, you are so close to everything. To f. ex The Botanic garden or the market, there is a steep climb but that’s part of the charm with P de C. The staff are helpful and friendly. Didn’t try breakfast but the restaurant looked nice. The little roof top pools are great for a quick dip. I’d definitely stay there again.

The location is excellent, the staff so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced at €8 per person. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but a bit tired looking, the bed linen was spotlessly clean but again needed replacing, one of the bed covers had cigarette burns. The kitchenette was a bonus, but the refrigerator was in bad need of defrosting, to be honest it needs replacing it worked but had been painted to improve its look. A kettle would have been appreciated but pans did the job for boiling water. It states the rooms are soundproofed, this isn’t the case. All in all a pleasant stay with very helpful staff.

Location is amazing, staff were lovely, I loved the fact that there’s a fridge, microwave and cutlery/plates in the room. The upstairs pool was handy. Overall a simple yet lovely place. Great value for money.

Due to the great location, it can get pretty loud outside every night. The only feedback to give is that it is very hard to find the hotel. The entrance does not have the hotel’s name on it (locals helped me) and the name itself is on top of a shoe store, not reception. Google maps also does not point to the actual entrance. I’d suggest for the hotel to send some clear information prior.

My new favourite place to stay in Tenerife North. Everything was absolutely perfect. I was a bit dubious after reading reviews but can happily say I’m glad I ignored them. Location is right in the heart of Puerto De La Cruz. Shops, bars, restaurants and ATM’s on the doorstep. Staff very friendly and helpful. I had a budget single room which was a more spacious than I was expecting. Bed very comfortable, good shower, microwave, kettle, tv, mini fridge and nice sized wardrobe with extra bedding if needed. The room and hotels were very clean. Lovely rooftop swimming pools and numerous chill areas and tables. Great breakfast and lots to choose from. I liked it that much I’ve extended my stay another few while I do some remote work. Perfect.

The staff were absolutely marvelous. I had s few problems with the door key not working but they sorted it out promptly and we're super simpatico. The location was great for bars etc., with a children's play area and taxi rank on the Square. The bus station is 5 mins walk. The room had Spanish, German TV and BBC News and AJ English and also sink, microwave, hob, pans, plates etc. The pool area had lots of beds, chairs and tables with a couple of small pools. Didn't have breakfast, but the spread looked pretty good for 8/4 Euros adult/child. Room price was excellent - 360 Euros 10 nights with cooking facilities saved me cash on eating out - good to have fridge for drinks and food. Homemade sandwiches vice airport prices 😃

No bar in the pool area. However it is a rooftop pool so probably safer that way.

A very nice spot right in the middle of Puerto de La Cruz. Clean, comfortable hotel, with a kitchen in the room that proved super useful and very well placed in within the room (sink, microwave, fridge, cuttlery, plates, pans, stove). It was not expensive for a 7-night stay, breakfast was very good every morning. A small pool on the top floor where you could enjoy the sunset and super, super friendly staff! I highly recommend this hotel if you want a good experience for a relatively low price. Parking next to it was difficult, but there was a nearby (5 minute walk) free parking spot near the bus station, so it was fine (I left the rented car all nights there, not a single issue). Restaurants, supermarkets, stores, you had everything right there next to the hotel as well, great location.

There was loud, live music from a restaurant just below the balcony. Not the hotel's fault, of course, but you really could not sleep before midnight (that's when the music ended). This was all days during the stay.

Very good place for stay. Hotel is in the city center, next to the main streets, close to the huge parking lot and ocean. There is a lot of cafeteries, bars, restaurants, mini markets around the hotel. Very good option for price.

Close to the hotel there is restaurant where every evening is someone singing. You will hear it and in will feel like the concert is in the next room, till 24:00, every night. Rooms needs renovation, but you can see it in photos.

Location is very good, shops, restaurants, promenad for walk, bus station to airport and to other cities is about 10 min. to walk. Sea is 5 min. to walk. It`s good value for money. Little kichnette, all you need, if you would like to cook something. I had a nice apartment with balcony. Thank you receptionists and cleaning ladyes !

Very rare to find a place that ticks so many boxes, and Im notoriously fussy. The staff were all warm and friendly, very very helpful and around 24 hours. The room we stayed in had a beautiful view of the sea, and the main square where the people watching is excellent. There's entertainment below in a restaurant which we found to be a wonderful addition to our evening balcony drinks. Beautiful sunrise in the morning that shows off all the lush greenery, and then the sunset golden hour in the evenings sets off all the surrounding charming buildings. The pool is in full sun all day with an area below with shade and a bar, showers and toilets. Being on the roof meant the view again, was incredible. We had fresh towels, beds made, floors gone over etc on a regular basis. Sheets and pillows all fresh and clean. The location couldn't have been more perfect, all the bars and restaurants, supermarkets, gardens and beaches were all within a short walk of each other. It's such a lovely place to meander around. I can't wait to return and spend two weeks away next time.
