The room was spacious and clean, there was a water kettle, mugs and tea bags. I received new towels almost every day and my bed has been made. There was a safe in the room and plenty of space for my wardrobe. Breakfast was really good. There was a small corner with gluten free bread, crackers, brownies and cereals. The location was very convenient, just two blocks up from the harbour and shops. There were plenty of coffee shops and restaurants within a 3-5 minutes walk. There is also a grocery store nearby as well as a small shopping mall.A bonus was the free light dinner Thon hotels offer from Monday to Thursdays. There was a soup, bread, a salad and a slice of cheese and sausage as well as some juice. And some fruits for desert. And if you go on a tour or leave early, the hotel is packing you breakfast that day.

I would have loved a slightly bigger selection in gluten free bread, gluten free breakfast rolls would have been great. Or a toaster, where you could toast the very dry gluten free bread.

We stayed at Thon Hotel Tromso for three nights, flying in and taking an airport express bus that stopped just around the corner from this centrally-located hotel at Grannegata 50 {there is another Thon Hotel across the street that seemed a bit more basic}. For $160 {USD}/night, including taxes, an excellent breakfast buffet was provided. The breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold prepared food. Our bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet, and of adequate size. This hotel is within a commercial district that contains many restaurants and bars. Despite the fact that a foot of snow had fallen within a few hours of our arrival in Tromso, there was a great deal of pedestrian activity and nightlife in this area.

Tromso is known for having lots of precipitation--be prepared for that! We had no complaints about the hotel.

Great location. Comfy rooms, with daily cleaning provided. Friendly and very helpful staff; you can download your boarding pass at reception. Delicious breakfast. If I'm ever back in Tromsø, I'll definitely stay at this hotel again.

The only issue I encountered was that when I first arrived, my room was chilly. The heating system was set to 1, and since it was after 10 p.m., there wasn’t enough time to warm up the room—especially considering it’s October. In winter, this could be more of a concern. However, by the next day, the room was warm. Thankfully, the very cozy blanket provided kept me comfortable on the first night, so it was fine overall. Just a note: bring slippers, as the floor can be quite cold.

Hotel in the center, excellent breakfast, coffee and tea at any time, comfortable small rooms, clean and comfortable, bathroom floor hot, TV safe refrigerator, soap , shampoo. Everything for a convenient location. We were settled in at 11am, after an overnight flight it was perfect.Thanks to the young man at reception.

Everything was wonderful- except for a few things- I tried to ask about the bus stop from a woman in a hotel uniform- she was not nice, saying she didn't work at the hotel, but she opened and went into a darkened room of the hotel restaurant. There was supposed to be a light snack on Thursday, but we didn't see it, even though we had already booked a restaurant in the center. Also we were coming to celebrate a birthday, the hotel knew but did not congratulate us in any way. The price per night was 400€+, it is normal, if from the minus prices in Scandinavia are very high. We liked the hotel, if we come back, it will be here.

the Thon Hotel is in a perfect location close to all the main amenities in Tromso. The airport transfer bus stops close by, and the Hotel is walking distance to all major bus routes, the main bus station, the harbour and the main shopping street. The breakfasts offer a terrific choice in a comfortable dining room and the staff are extremely polite and helpful. Tea and coffee are provided for guests in the Hotel foyer.

The rooms are comfortable, but on the small side. if you require a double bed, rather than two singles, you have to upgrade at an additional cost.

It is very good located in Tromso city, near to all the uptown where u can go walking everywhere for meet around. Talking about the place indeed I can say that everything was clean, well done at the room and their breakfast has a lot to choose, what I loved too was that when we arrived to check in at the Hotel they also give us a welcome meal for dinner, I was not expecting that, and the soup 🍜 of carrots and ginger was very delicious 😋. Thank you guys was an amazing stay, very recommend!!!

Everything was beautiful, the room was very comfortable,warm and clean. There was a gym that we could visit. The breakfast was very nice with variety. Also the location was the best, everything was near and that helped a lot especially when we needed to go to our activitie's meeting point,early in the morning. The stuff was very helpful and willing to answer all our questions and advice us. Lastly they had a room to keep our luggage after the checkout! Thank you Thon🫶🏻

The Hotel has a perfect location. The city center, many tourist attractions, grocery stores, restaurants and many bus stops are nearby within 5 minutes of walk. The reception is 0-24 which is a big advantage if you plan to go for a Norther light hunting tour. All the receptionists we met were very kind and helpful. The room was clean, well equipped, the bed was really comfortable, the size was perfect for a 5-day stay. The best part of our stay in the hotel was the breakfast, it was just amazing. The wide selection, including specialties like salmon or even caviar amused us. Also, my vegetarian wife felt that the selection was very inclusive, meat free options were available, not to mention the gluten- and lactose free options. We even received a free voucher for a light dinner (cold cuts and a warm vegetarian/vegan? soup), which was a nice surprise. The cherry on top was the free to use board game in the lobby, which was the local version of my favorite board game (Ticket to Ride: Northern Lights).

The stay was more expensive than the cost of such experience elsewhere in Europe, but compared to other hotels in Tromso it had a good price, so being expensive is likely the 'fault' of Tromso and/or Norway. Also some inconvenience was that the plastic bottles have deposit fees in Norway, which is great initiative for environment, so we kept our used bottles with the intention to bring them back (and get back the deposit fees), and stored them on the floor but quite far from the trash can, but one day during the cleaning, the bottles disappeared. This was really just some inconvenience, more than being a problem.

The hotel room was quite small but well equipped including a kettle, tea and coffee. Very good complimentary buffet breakfast with wide selection, also complimentary light supper on most days which was a nice surprise. Complimentary tea and coffee in the lobby. Central location, convenient for Tromsø attractions, bus stops and bus station where tours leave from and return to.
