My family and I found Fiona the Manager was welcoming and accommodating. Our room was clean, tidy and well equipped with all essentials expected in a motel. The bbq area was handy we cooked breakfast nd lunch. The bed was comfortable with fresh linen. Mostly Fiona was a great host and friendly. I would recommend Quality Suites Kaikoura and would stay there again. Excellent location 2mins walk to New World plus pub Lobster restaurant 5mins walk. I felt the fridge had limited space to store food.

Great room at the rear of the property away from the main road. Lovely big bed and breakfast food was left for us which was lovely. Enjoyed having our own outside area. There is also a bbq area at the back for guests and a supermarket a few doors away.

The only thing that was strange was the orientation of our shower. The shower was large and tiled but the showerhead was on the open side of the shower instead of the side with the glass enclosure so all the water ended up on the floor even with a shower curtain there. This is a design floor at building which could be remedied with a glass door being put on the shower and would improve it immensely. Then no more stepping on a soaking wet bath mat. This is a small issue compared to how lovely our room and the property is.

Front of house lady is welcoming and enjoys having a chat. Property is modern and well cared for with large units with double glazed windows and two entrances with one entrance being an opening glass door on to a patio for the ground floor units and a balcony for the upper level units. Very clean and warm units with a good sized bathroom and a very large comfortable super King bed. Five minute walk to the Lobster Inn Tavern always an enjoyable meal and drinks in amongst the locals. Plenty of off street parking. Thank you for a very comfortable stay.

The lady who met us was helpful and hospitable. I needed a bread knife and she gave me her own one to use. The bed is large and very comfy. The heater on the wall was not working but there was a very efficient portable heater in the room so we were cosy. There is a separate dining table and chairs to eat breakfast, no need to balance a plate on your knee! I’ll stay there again.

You get a little bit of road noise but not enough to be a problem.

loved the location, facilities for what we needed for 4 nights. no cooking facilities but BBQ was available to use which we did. as well as lots of restaurants around us and supermarket almost next door, great room service, great studio for what we needed. I loved being on the ground floor.

being woken up by people leaving/checking out dragging their suitcases down the stairs (our room was right under the stairs) was quite noisy but that's to be expected where our room was.

I was pleasantly surprised, the reason we booked this motel was because of its location and the booking was only for one night we were prepared to put up with some minor inconveniences. On arrival we were greeted by a really friendly woman at the reception desk and then we were given the key to a modern well-appointed motel unit. The units are built in such a manner that they are almost completely separate from each other, you cannot hear any plumbing or other noises from the neighboring units.

Absolutely nothing.

The location is just a short drive from the town centre and not far from a large supermarket so is very handy. Staff were really helpful and friendly and able to accommodate our request to stay another night. Although we had to switch rooms after the first night, the new room was available for us immediately. Rooms are very clean and comfortable and easily accessed from the parking area.

The new room had a door connecting it to an adjacent room which allowed us to here conversations in that room very clearly. I suggest requesting that your room does not have a connecting door.

The unit we had was quite spacious and had a very large comfortable bed. There was a good shower and the bathroom floor was heated as was the towel rail. There is an excellent pizza restaurant located 700 metres away (Black Rabbit) where we got great food and service. The staff were friendly and helpful. The motel is on the North end of Kaikoura so it is handy if you are heading onto Picton.

The fridge was tiny with very little icebox space. Also very small microwave.

Room and bathroom were quite clean. It was nice that they had floor warmers and towel warmers in the bathroom. They had a great bed setup for 3 which is rare to find. Parking was right in front of our room, so super convenient. The kitchenette had everything we needed, and they gave us fresh milk for our coffee. It was very nice to have a patio/balcony area for each room. Right next to a New World supermarket which was very convenient.

There was no view though, but we knew that coming in. Some of the pictures look like you can see a view of the sea, but that is not the case for most of the rooms.

Great location for tourists trips, food and shops. Adequate facilities for preparing food and quiet outdoor seating area to enjoy it. Tree was parking but a little busy. Staff friendly and helpful.

Requested a ground floor room but we’re given a first floor with no lift so a little inconvenient. We’re very scared in the middle of one night by an alarm which turned out to be a call for the voluntary firemen. There were details about other types of alarms in the visitor information would have been helpful to know about the fire service call!
