House was very clean.Good facilities. Nice gardens.Games room was a bonus. Location was in a quiet village. Breakfast was help yourself which was OK.Good that you could cook or bring food in to eat in the Nice dining room.

It was strange that we were there for two nights, we let ourselves in and throughout our stay we didn't see anyone. We saw a few people but hadn't a clue who they were. Our room whilst being a good size and very comfortable with a very comfy bed ,didn't have a window that you could look out of which I didn't like.

This is a good stopover en route south from Scotland, being situated not far off the main route. The canal offers the opportunity to have a good walk along the side of it to stretch ones legs after a 5+ hr car journey. There is a good pub for an evening meal (Wed evening only pizza offered, but v gd home and freshly made pizzas). The accommodation includes a self service breakfast, which for us was excellent from point of view of getting up early, making a cup of tea and getting a quick bite. For others wanting a more leisurely breakfast, there was plenty on offer, eggs, beans, variety of breads, yoghourts. Couldn’t fault knowing in advance that is what is included in the price. Parking for us was in next door public park car park, but felt safe. Others could park in driveway, first come first served basis. The accommodation as many others have said is spotlessly clean and the towels were of very good size and quality.

Appreciate fire doors are heavy and can be noisy, so it was difficult to open and shut as quietly as we would have liked for early morning get away. Rooms are off lounge in annex, so you are reliant on other guests, using this room, to retire at a reasonable hour, which they did on our visit, but chatter and conversation carries very clearly from lounge to bedrooms. Not on this ccasion an issue for us but something to be aware of, as is very distracting.

The place is very cosy and comfortable. Value for money is excellent. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The guest house was very clean.

The location is not the best but that is very relative where you are going. From my only point of view the only downside was the breakfast. It is only cereals, coffee, jams and toasts. There are tins of beans and eggs if you want to cook your own scramble eggs but it is self-service and you have to do the washing up if you do any cooking.

Whilst we didn’t meet any staff (this wasn’t necessary) their communication was excellent. Contactable by SMS with an immediate response. The property was easily located using the instructions provided. The 3 bedrooms were of good size, each with a double bed and plentiful bedding, pillows and towels. The bathroom was of reasonable size with an electric over bath shower. The property was a good base to explore all the parts of Yorkshire we intended, travelling by car to the Yorkshire Dales, Hull, York and Whitby.

The over bath shower could have been more powerful but it provided instant hot water ideal for showering. The kitchen provided a good array of utensils but we did struggle with baking trays and had to wash any thing required before use.

Very clean, good size room and bathroom. Beds were very comfortable and breakfast was good for the price that we paid. Both Zoe and Cath were very helpful, specially with my request for a downstairs room. It was not too far from the A1(m). Would definitely stay here again.

Only very small point is that there were no usb points to charge mobiles - This is more because I forgot to bring the plug for my charger, than an issue with the place.

I found the minute I arrived that the welcoming from Cath made me feel I had made the right choice in pick to stay here. The premises where immaculate, the room outstanding, the items for breakfast superb and other facilities offered were amazing.Zoe and Cath have put this place on the map and I couldn’t recommend this guest house any higher than I have.I will be back and I will be spreading the word.

There is nothing that can be done better

This is my 2nd time staying at Parkside while in the area, nice place to stay, rooms are comfortable and kept clean, makes you feel like your at home.

Only thing I didn’t like was when the room next door was going in and out i sounded like they was coming in to my room, even tho i knew my door was locked still made me feel like someone was about to burst in.

We were put to an apartment in Snaith instead. There's a lot of room and it's very clean. Besides, Zoe, who is probably the owner, is very helpful and pleasant.

As it isn't located in the guest house, no cooked breakfast is ready in the morning. However, some ingredients like eggs, bread, juice, cereal and milk are in the kitchen and you can cook a hot meal yourselves. The other down side of the apartment is the bathroom. It is hard to open the door to get out. One more thing is that the water pressure of the boiler is sometimes too low for the water or heating to be on. You will need to turn the knobs on the bottom of the boiler to get it started. this is not too bad if you have that in mind and check it sometimes.

We booked the annexe but this is not adjacent to the guest house. It is an upstairs flat in a neighbouring small town. This meant we had our own space, access to local shops and amenities including cafes and pubs. The owner was brilliant even after there was a small breakage to a low table.

Finding out the day before that the annexe was not sited at the guest house in Pollington. Fortunately for us Snaith was an ideal base for us and it worked out a positive arrangement. It did however, make us ponder what we would do if that was not the case.
