The price was very reasonable. The location was perfect for the Glasvegas concert I was attending. The food was fantastic and the drinks even better. The room was warm the bed was comfortable. But most importantly the staff were fantastic. Especially the wee guy behind the bar and the lovely wee woman who served me my breakfast. All you lot who are saying the place is tired and needs a bit of TLC need to wind your necks in. A room for two with breakfast included in a central location for £100 is a deal. Its a steal. Its sale of the century.

Unfortunately, I only stayed for 1 night and didn't have a chance to try the restaurant and I left early before breakfast service had started, so my review is limited, hence the 8.0 rating. However, there was nothing I could complain about. It's a traditional hotel with a nice view over the harbour and within easy walking distance of the town centre. My room, the Glenmorangie, was very large, with a double bed, single bed and a large leather sofa to relax and watch TV. Very clean with lots of storage space. Tea & coffee making facilities with complimentary biscuits and water. Bathroom was a bit small but had shower over bath, wash hand basin and toilet. Very friendly staff. Downstairs bar/restaurant looked good and sorry I missed out, as the menu looked very good and reasonably priced.

There was nothing I could complain about. There is no lift, so people with mobility issues might have a problem. The room was perfectly adequate but I would suggest that, given the amount of space in the room, a bathroom extension would be a good idea.

It was a perfect location for me as I was visiting for the Open Championship and it was very close to Troon train station, Royal Troon golf course, the Troon Port and all the main amenities. The history of this building is absolutely fascinating especially for somebody who is a big golf fan. When you are there it feels like a truly authentic experience of an Ye Old Inn :) Delicious breakfast every day too! Very welcoming and understanding staff.

The windows were adjusted so that they always stay shut, I had a wooden piece in my room with which I could keep it slightly opened but it wasn’t enough. It would be also lovely to have had a bed side lamp to switch between that and the main light and a chair.

Excellent location for our needs, room was an excellent size, spotless and with a lovely view. Bed really comfortable & the blackout blinds were a great idea. Staff were amazing, so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was lovely, as were the staff serving.

As with most hotels that aren't a big chain....the shower. Why on earth is it so complicated. Took a full 10 minutes to figure it out. Very high step to get into the shower, I'm quite wee so that was a bit of a struggle.

Location was excellent. 2 minutes to the town centre and beach. Train station just about 10 minutes walk. Lovely wee town with a range of shops. Excellent friendly pubs nearby. Hotel’s lounge was very nice and nice music and sports available on the television. Staff were very pleasant and very helpful. Breakfast was excellent and nothing too much bother from the staff. Freshly cooked . Has lunch and a dinner in hotel and was excellent. Good choice of menu. It is an old building and a bit dated but spotlessly clean and warm. We would definitely use the hotel again.

It was hard to find staff as I had to check out before 8 am. I tried the bar, the restaurant, I even rang the bell at reception but just ended up leaving my keys on the reception desk. I appreciate the nature of the hotel as have stayed a couple.of times for work before. So I know there's not staff about til breakfast starts and after the bar closes. I also was back for 10.30pm hoping for a drink to take to my room and relax, but everything was locked up.

Ideal location for town and ferry.

You very kindly gave our friends keys to both room even though you had confirmed my request to give the non sea view and they had not paid you for either room. Is it your hotel policy to give out room keys unauthorised by person who booked and paid? I find that unacceptable.

The main thing is the location from where we could travel wherever we wanted like Glasgow, Edinburgh and beach. The beds, pillows and couches were very good and comfortable. All the staffs were very friendly and helpful. Full English breakfast was included in the deal.

There isn’t anything that I didn’t like but I have one suggestion and that is the hotel needs to improve topping up tea, coffee, milk, sugar etc. everyday because some people like me drink loads of coffee.

Big and comfortable room, kettle and teas in the room, hot water, comfy shower and bath tub, comfy bed, beautiful views from the window, friendly staff, tasty breakfast, lovely hotel downstairs, nice and safe parking spaces, stylish decor in and out.

It could be more sunny outside :)
